My mom has pretty advanced dementia and it's been a couple of years since she could do these kinds of activities, but they used to be some of our favorite. We've always been super close and best friends, so it's especially hard losing these little bonding moments slowly over time. Thanks for the reminder of how special those times are and we're, and how thankful I am that I had as many as I did with her. As I write I this is currently hospitalized and we are probably starting Hospice care, so I really appreciate reliving some of my favorite memories with her through your videos. ❤

I agree with Becky that the crust needs 1/2 the sugar and that instead of pumpkin with the sugar and spices, that it would be better with plain pumpkin but keeping the added sugar and added spices. We did make the whipped cream but substituted half the vanilla for natural rum flavoring. Caramel salted pralines would be good on it.

I took my turkey out Sunday placed in a roaster placed in a large Styrofoam cooler which had been in the garage. Put lid in it let defrost till Wednesday. Turkey was cold but totally defrosted.

I so love watching you and your mom working together in the kitchen. you guys make such a great team. While each year my sisters and niece get to do this together, my mom passed away 12 years ago, she is still missed each year, but always remembered in stories and the young ones that did know get to meet her, do get to know her thought our stories.. For me it is not the tasty food with family that means thanksgiving, for me is all the hours in the kitchen with my family pulling it together.... the best joy of the holiday for me my most favorite day of the year cooking with the ones you love.. I am going to research your moms plan see if I can show my family for planning for our Christmas dinner. This year I am thankful for you and your family. always a joy to watch. Thank so much for all you do.

Becky and Susan, thank you for inviting us along to your Thanksgiving dinner. Everything looked fabulous! I wouldn't be able to walk after all that delicious food. My dinner also turned out very well. I cooked a 5 lb turkey breast in the slow cooker. Was so tender the breast meat fell right off the bones in one piece. God Bless. Love you all! xxoo

I just love your mom and I want to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your Thanksgiving. I have been very sick the past week and so I wasn't able to go to my family's dinner and on Wednesday night my aunt broke her hip. She's very frail and in the hospital and I have been a little stressed about it. Your video put a smile on my face for the first time in at least a week. I am so glad you had a great time with your family and I pray you have a wonderful Christmas which is coming up soon. God bless you! 🙏❤️

Becky!!!! Please let me give you my new Bosch mixer! I bought it because I have a bakery and I heard great things about it. It works great except on the one thing I make a ton of and that is Royal icing. It breaks the paddles. The paddles they use for the icing are made of plastic at the connection. They aren't strong enough. So it sits un used in my cabinet. I would LOVE for you to have it. Let me know how I can send it to you. I have tons of fun attachments as well.
I would get so much pleasure seeing you make some delightful recipes with it

Love how y'all work together ❤️ My mom & I would do the same. This year has been very different. She has cancer & Thanksgiving dinner was not the same. However, we have so much to be thankful for. She is still with us & that is such a blessing. This video made me cry & it gave me hope for the future. I pray my mom & I have many years of cooking & enjoying each other's company. Thanks for sharing & I would enjoy watching more videos with you two... the dynamic duo ❤️ BTW... can you share the recipe for the rolls? They looked scrumptious!

Hi, my husband was told by a butcher years ago that you can take a completely frozen turkey and put it in cold water the night before you need to season/cook it and if you change the water every 2-3 hours, it will be totally thawed. I thought that sounded too good to be true but it works. The only downfall is that someone has to get up and drain/fill the sink every 2-3 hours so we just too turns and it was fine.

We used turkey cooking bags, when cooking a turkey. It Cooks faster and stays really moist! It hasn't failed us yet. One year, when our kids raised turkeys for 4-H, our turkey butcher out weighed over 30lbs! We had to get a bone saw and saw it in half, to cook it!
