Wow. An XTC tribute band is wild in itself, but to pick a left-of-center track like Complicated Game is wonderfully unexpected.
Probably the best cover of this particular XTC song I've heard. Getting that sound is rough, but you guys nail it. Right before they went for the more studio/pastoral sound to boot. Excellent job on this.
I hesitated listening to this cause I thought no way anyone can pull it off. I was wrong, holy hell! I would have loved to been at this show, you guys NAILED it!

Well, it's a cover version of it (albeit an excellent one). The original version is by XTC on their 1979 Drums & Wires album

I was listening to my favorite Xtc song Complicated game on youtube, and then youtube recommended this cover version to me. I am totally blown away by this cover version. You brought it to the same level as the original. That is just beyond impressive.
Yeah. No pun intended but its two fold for me. I discovered the song through Vivarium and then not just played this song to over burn but also discovered the album Drums and Wires from it. And then...this. Too damn good literally. Because its one of those songs I know I might find few far between in my own personal life that will agree.
@@jakes3935 I think I've listened to the song 50 times since finishing vivarium last night. I made my son sit through it twice, I've told friends, I'm a fanatic! This song touched my soul in a way like you said, far and few between. The video a fan made for the xtc version with the abstract shit and a "man" was so well done and fits the song perfectly. I CAN NOT believe it's from 1979, I was shook-ith to my core.

XTC fan of Oranges and Lemons, knew some of their older stuff but hadn't listened to whole albums like Drums and Wires until recently and found Complicated Game, which subsequently led me here. It's such a hard long lyrically to follow, didn't expect any cover to even come close to the original...guess I was wrong, this is about as close to perfection as one can get. As others have said below, well done guys, you nailed it. I wish I had known about this XTC tribute over in St Paul, would have driven over to the Turf Club *just* to hear this one song!!!

When i slipped the cassette into my player and heard this song for the first time i was blown away.
I've been a fan from statute of liberty and this is pop so when I heard this song come on at the end of a movie I picked at random to watch it all came flooding back.
This song was a perfect fit for this movie.
