@@oceanbnd .. I hope you explore more of their music. I find them very Beatle-ish .. or at least influenced that way. This song is just a little bit off their beaten path but not by much.
My wife and I watched this last night - I only heard of this movie because of my love of XTC, (Complicated Game being one of my favourites from a band that chucked out bangers effortlessly) it completely flew under my radar. Wonderfully unsettling film, and yes, what a perfect track for this movie.
I haven't watched this movie, yet, but it's on my list. Being an XTC fan from that band's beginning through its end, I was intrigued to see this latest video, featuring one of their greatest songs. I was lucky to see them play live twice, on their tour for this album, Drums & Wires, and the tour for their next LP, Black Sea. There will be no justice in this world until XTC is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. That's simply a fact. 😎
XTC-Dear God has been a long time favorite of mine. Watched this movie recently, loved this song, and it kicked me hard learning it was them. Amazing video, too! Thank you!
@@Ultrablis My guess is killing the child would take away their purpose in Yonder and "they" would stop giving them foods and supplies, just like when the child is all grown up and Yonder doesn't need them anymore.
GG2K7AU05 wow so if they killed him they’d basically starve them out and once they serve their purpose would it be the same thing if Tom didn’t get sick? Would they come kill them? Did Gemma get sick as well or just give up after Tom died?
Reg Hunt what? They barely even develop Tom....and the boy isn’t even human...the movie just focuses on the aspect of child rearing and the cycle Of life and death. Liberal cuck.
Yikes. That was a very grim use of this very powerful and bleak but catchy song. The mining of the music explosion following punk's rise and fall continues by Gen Xers. Music directors could do a lot worse than making entire soundtracks out of XTC songs, mostly unknown, largely catchy, relentlessly hooky and with perfectly intelligible and often thoughtful lyrics. It's a pick-your-mood cornucopia...philosophical, or joyful, or pessimistic, or downright dread-full....it's pretty straightforward.

listen in Double speed 2023.... 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎤🤯
This has always been a timeless track - you just can't place a date on it.
This song was an excellent choice for the end of this movie. I love XTC.
I never heard of XTC and I grew with the Sex Pistols and The Talking Heads, both remind me of this song

@@oceanbnd XTC and Talking Heads toured together many times in the early 80's. I'm amazed you've never heard of them. Superb band.
XTC is one of my favorites too. Complicated game is my all-time favorite song by them. I've never seen the movie but now I need to check it out
@@OoyayUbetay A darker, more contemplative, at times cynical, version of the Beatles. At least to me...and that's not a bad thing.
This song was absolutely perfect for this movie I don’t see how any other song could do
I love this song forever. So it's very impressive that they tied it to this movie like that

Legit this music video is the entire movie in 5 minutes haha

Great film and even greater song by XTC :)
What movie is this ?
This was right up there with Where is my mind? by The Pixies, played at the end of Fight Club. 🙌
Perfectly haunting song choice for such a haunting ending.
"You know it's college music when they try to make the suburbs look bad." - Butthead
Great movie

LOL, I think every parent understands this movie ALL TOO WELL! Great song, BTW! All I can think about now is ODB performing this song now😆
Track is so much better after a divorce
This

This is one of the most thought provoking films I have seen for a very long time.
What is the name of this movie??
Agree, seems like a lot of people are missing it.

Vaya cierre con este soundtrack 💀👽
Amé esta película ❤️❤️
I do wish the movie was fleshed out more with some details, but the song is amazing!
SO COOL!!!
Why is this movie looks like my live.. The village was my school.. Frustration and bored and it looks I never get out of it also.
Was shocked this was XTC after watching film. Great song!
surreal and weird... right up my alley!
Una canción bastante fumada y excelente para la película es Y que es bastante buena
Strange movie but good ...
Nice job!
I wonder if the Character Tom was named after the movie producer seeing the the name Tom in this song?
its just a complicated game
Black Mirror episode?
Vivarium movie
Will this be life?
Wtf idea of that maze!? M really curious
They were trapped there, there's no way out. It's like the Pacman game.
Kinda, only that they couldn’t eat the ghost.
Haha, they should’ve let that little basted die 😅
