- Return to the IOW Steam Railway for one last visit before the island locos come out of service.
Riding with locomotives:
W24 'Calbourne'
W8 'Freshwater'
W11 'Newport'
It's always lovely to visit the island for the railway and attractions.
What a joy to watch at this time of lock-down. It is almost as good as being there for my annual trip to the IWSR!
IMMACULATE! & not just the rolling stock, same goes for the video all proffesionaly done! 👌
I often watch the Haven Street webcam, so it's nice to see it all from different angles. The Ivatt tank is in service at the moment.
Great video, thanks for posting your efforts!
Thanks for the vid. I wish iow didn't get rid of 90% of its railway. I think it be a boost for it Tourism having most of rails connected across the isle's
Wunderschön! 👌
The island is going to be down to one island sream loco at the end of the year as 24 and 8 are out for overhaul
Nice to see original and authentic coaching stock instead of tatty Mk1s in a variety of inappropriate liveries.
wow!
w8 is getting its boiler checked now
All steam locomotives have to undergo a boiler strip down for full examination every ten years. It is the turn of W8 this year, with W24 next
Should just hand the hole island lines over to the steam railway
Why are the locos going out of service?
Seconded.
I can’t find that info anywhere. I thought they were doing rather well (it has been some year since I’ve been there though).
10 Year Boiler overhaul for W8
Calbourne needs an overhaul. She's getting a bit tired and I think it's the end of her 10 yearly. She was meant to return in 2021 or something, but I have no idea if that will remain the completion date, due to coronavirus.
