Just to clarify some things. This is not the royal family, this is the Royal family varsity. So saying "they did better last year" or "this isn't their best performance" literally makes no sense because this was their first HHI as a crew. Yes it was a bit messy but that's why they got bronze, this crew is new to the palace under new direction lol.
I have a feeling that this performance is more than just winning medals. I can see the diversity within their crew. & I think this performance is pure passion & love towards dance. Though mistakes are made, it does not really matter to me anymore because I just felt that they are trying to prove something & it passed all of the medals & wins. Idk. It's just difficult to explain. I wish only the best for RF & to the other crews that competed, you guys are inspiring as well. At the end of the day, our love upon the art form of dance is the only thing that actually matters & no one can take that away from you. Cheers to all! ❤️
You dont need to get gold always to prove that youre the best or atleast great. Theres always a room for improvement and remember that someone will always be better than you no matter what. You might be on top yesterday but fall hard at the bottom th next day. You just need to keep trying and bring back your honor. No need to hate any teams. Be thankful!!!!!
Lots of new dancers, so they did well. But when Ruthy picks up Samyah at 4:02 though....that move itself is amazing. Ruthy got her girl's back - too much!
I compete at the junior division and one of our dancers fall on one part and everybody went crazy because of their fall but when Samayah fall nobody said anything or when Bubblegum have the wrong diss track they said "It can happens to anybody"

It's based off a lot of a routine they did during a mid or end of year showcase I think. I believe it was called Elements, or maybe 4 elements. I recommend finding and watching it here on youtube cus Ruthy killed it just as hard in that!!! It's awesome :)
Somehow I knew them by this: Samyah: almighty hair whipper Ruthy: untouchable girl popper Kaea: body rolls queen Corbin: sharp and defined moves Kirsten: the magi (she can do anything like gurl i cant even roll my hips and she's out there doing more than rolling hips)
People will always be critics, but until you understand the work and process behind designing a routine this creative, with this many dancers, you don't deserve to critique, you observe. The visual aspects and the seamless flow from one style to the next is so smooth, you almost don't realize its happening. Major props to the choreographers, you are on the come up, truly! I know we are all accustomed to a specific flavor or style that Parris brings year after year, but its amazing to see these young choreographers showcase there styles like this AND to have such young dancers kill the choreo almost flawlessly - PHENOMENAL!!!
THEY DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT US. My favorite section in this routine just because i cant help but feel like this was a shout out to the judges last year lol
Well let me rephrase my statement, I was actually applauding them for making a statement about the medal, so hold your high horse there MzMaloNZ Last years performance should've been first place!
Oh and yeah, nobody did out their medals on the floor last year, I'm talking bout this years performance lmfao!!! They take they're medals out and "pretends to put it in the floor" 😂😂😂
w/out a doubt ,individually, they're a caliber higher than the other crews. but what really made the 2 crews (from ph&korea) shine brighter was the fact that people recognize what is an eye-catching performance. rf did great but i think ph & korea had brought to the table what the world wants to enjoy.
Despite everything that could be said about this routine or the placing, I just really think these kids are amazing and really love seeing where the Palace Dance Studios and Royal Family are going. Giving a chance to let kids live their dreams now and do what they love. Big props to Parris and Popa, but especially Kyra for a majority of this. Ugh and I still get chills watching this choreo with all their facials and RUTHY's popping 😭.
This is why I signed up for Hiphop nice choreography and a lot of power and energy #proudtobeaNZ I'm so happy to be a NZ girl. ILYSM girls and boys well done I'm proud of you.!
Agreed Upeepz was amazing and my pick for the win but finding out their set is old and already won at Battlegrounds is a little deflating.Didn't DM Nation get in trouble for the same thing?
+indigogirlisla yeah that is why I struggle to get behind those other crew even when I do like their performances. It is well known that a some of the crews create a single choreography with few alternatives and practice that same routine all year round. RF makes them up as they go which is something I really like about them.
I watched this performance many times and still noticing things i didnt see the first 20 times i seen it. Its either their just that good or im just blind!😍
The only thing that bothered me was that they didn't put their crowns up at the end :)) But seriously loved this :D Congrats Royal Fam for getting bronze
Same! But maybe they just wanted to give a different image or message at the end, as they are the Varsity crew led by Kyra and not Parris. But because they are a Family they could have kept the crowns indeed.
Does anybody think like me??? --- Each year 3 girls have stood out for being absolutely flawless First it was kaea and kyra and shyvon Then it was Kirsten and Corbyn and jess Then it was Ruthy and Maddy and samayah Then it was Teesha and Aria and Azaria To be honest these 12 girls are the only girls I focus on when watching the routines!!!! The boys are always slay and Parris 🔥🔥🔥
I'm from the Philippines and I'm also a RF fan. They look good visually and wohoo girl power but I still think upeepz had more swag and they had a cleaner routine.
For me, this group should be Silver medalist with close margin on the champion UPeepz (Philippines). Lock "N" Lol lacks complexity and impact compared on these two groups. If Royal Family Varsity did it more cleaner than what we saw, they win this. No hating, just my opinion. Congrats to the winners specially Philippines! Thank you for making us proud! Kudos to all!
Yep. I've been a big fan of Philippine groups since Philippine All Stars from 2006. I'm happy for you guys to be consistently placing in top 3 the last few years!
Just because a dance performance has more complicated choreography doesn't mean they should automatically place higher, what Lock n Lol has done this year and last year is show how much putting creative thought into your performance matters because at the end of the day, dancing is a performance, it's not just going up there and killing a routine, it's about putting on a show and being entertaining also, their performance was clearly more well thought out, much more creative, had seamless transitions, much cleaner, and just a more fun performance to watch. What I don't like about Royal Family (and this is the case with a lot of choreographers nowadays) is that there seems to be no joy or fun in their routines, it's all about being fierce, "gangsta" and aggressive all while going through every single "popular mainstream" hiphop song that came out in the past year, like seriously Royal Family Varsity? I love the upbeat joyful and fun vibe that Lock n Lol brings, it's definitely refreshing. Royal Family has become a team that really only cares about the choreography and it sucks because many others are following in their example, while teams like Lock n Lol that use dance to celebrate the music and the performance aspect of dance are becoming increasingly rare.
I respect your own opinion sir. I'll stick with mine. I'm way more entertained with them rather than Lock N Lol and i'll repeat, this is just my opinion.
Ryan Reyes That's fine if you were entertained more, but saying they should've lost to Royal Family because of complexity and impact is just straight up wrong.
Omg! The talent in this crew! Unbelievable! To think that the dancers in this crew are all 18 and under and putting up a fight against the adult dancers in the mega crew category. Seriously, I cannot wait what they will put together next year!!!! And great job to Kyra and the team for putting together such a sick show! Congrats!!!
The purpose of them making a Varsity team is to prove that not only older people can dance because most people focus on dancers who have been in the industry for years.
Well isnt it pathetic that people will literally write hate comments on other crews preformances please if you hate rf dont view it because every view counts lol. I think all the crews that won medals all deserve it im a rf fan and always will be but the other crews were just deserving as well. Why come on here and spread your hate just view and be done. Thank You and have a nice day keep smiling maybe that will help.
RF fans compared the Age of dancers and the choreographer...remember the Upeepz are still College students...so age doesnt matter!..thats why lots of hate comments here from other crew fans
+Awezome Crasher (UyiI) i don't care how old they are they are all equally amazing dancers, anyone who can come out on stage and preform like all these crews can are just as fantastic.
As ALWAYS they never disappoint. EVER! Within the first few seconds I was ready to dance with them. The energy and raw emotion that they always put into there dance. It really is infectious.
I hope im not the only one that notices the way Ruth is shaking her body. That's my favorite part of this whole routine. The body control she has is exceptional man.
They are undeniably one of the best, but this time I think the song choice and routine has less impact than Upeepz, but way better than Lock n Lol(Boring song choice and weird costume)
I'm shook the average age for RFV is 15! They learned a new routine/set in one night and stilled managed to make it look good and they got the medal they deserved! Of course it's not gonna be perfect but we all make mistakes. I love RF and have looked up to them for so long and can't believe they've came this far and are still this good! Y'all need to quit being so rude and hateful. This choreography was amazing and bomb asf🙌🏾
Seeing the haters or those "I'm a fan but.." You know why your disappointed? It's because your expectations are way to high! You should be proud of these people, the average age is 15 and the people who choreographed this is 18-19 year olds. Yes it's not as clean as it usually is but they gave it their all, heck they changed their whole routine overnight. So stop complaining and appreciate, otherwise why tf you here?
Samyah's fall didn't get deducted, just to clear that up before this comment section becomes full of comment 'OMG SHE FELL THATS WHY THEY DIDNT GET GOLD!!!111!1' ☺️
I think they would still come in second. In my opinion last year's performance was 1st place, heck it is easily the most watched mega-crew video from HHI and it has spawned many dance covers online from around the world. Yet the judges had their own criteria and a lot of the results pointed to clean old school hip hop.
+bbmandy223MJ There are and I believe that it had lost it for them before, but in reality those mistakes amount to a .05 point deductions. I could count 5 mistakes total most ot which should have been difficult for the judges to see at all. I didn't get to see the score card from last year but it seems to me that regardless of the mistakes RF lost in score, which is ludicrous becuse their performance was far superior.
1:10 - 1:36 is the most beautiful thing I've seen ever.
No seriously like how are they all soooo perfect 😩

great performance.. as usual entertaining ..but UpEEPZ slayed it hard..for the Gold
Agreed Upeepz was amazing and my pick for the win but finding out their set is old and already won at Battlegrounds is a little deflating.Didn't DM Nation get in trouble for the same thing?
What you think about Lock N Lol? I don't know... I think it was boring.
+indigogirlisla yeah that is why I struggle to get behind those other crew even when I do like their performances. It is well known that a some of the crews create a single choreography with few alternatives and practice that same routine all year round. RF makes them up as they go which is something I really like about them.
+indigogirlisla they didnt do all the routine theyve done in thw WSB a
omg no way
I watched this performance many times and still noticing things i didnt see the first 20 times i seen it. Its either their just that good or im just blind!😍
People are saying how messy this is but honestly how are you complaining when you probably can't do better 😂😂😂
Never complain about food next time.
Eden Moy that's is not a logical thing to say
Because they are idiots 😒😂
And a sportcoaches work is also invalid
It’s not even messy lmao bitches need to lower their unreachable standards
i love their team spirit they really work hard to achieve this incredible dance
This is perfection. Unbelievable how amazing they are
Always a pleasure to watch, you guys rock
The only thing that bothered me was that they didn't put their crowns up at the end :)) But seriously loved this :D Congrats Royal Fam for getting bronze
im pretty sure the end was a giant crown. theyve done the crown in many forms like 2013 with the rope.
+Darren Toafa Tried looking at it again but really can't see it! Just my lack visual artistry in that sense man xD
+Jake Narag hahaha in this routine thats just me. all in all. mean as set. bloody amazing.
Same! But maybe they just wanted to give a different image or message at the end, as they are the Varsity crew led by Kyra and not Parris. But because they are a Family they could have kept the crowns indeed.
Does anybody think like me??? ---
Each year 3 girls have stood out for being absolutely flawless
First it was kaea and kyra and shyvon
Then it was Kirsten and Corbyn and jess
Then it was Ruthy and Maddy and samayah
Then it was Teesha and Aria and Azaria
To be honest these 12 girls are the only girls I focus on when watching the routines!!!! The boys are always slay and Parris 🔥🔥🔥
Yes!
+Tech Hcet I've literally felt like this for the past 3 years, each year 3 more girls get added on, the palace are creating some beasts
No doubt!!!
You forgot MADDIE.GIVERNY.LING ZHANG.ISLA.SARAH.TAMANIA
This group never failed to impress me. Good job and keep it going!
I'm so speechless at this. How do you being to choreograph such awesomeness. As a dancer/choreographer I bow down to this lol.
I NEED A FRONT ROW VIDEO LIKE NOOOOOWWWW
They killed it!!!! 👑👑👑👑
I almost cried when they played Michael Jackson. This piece is so powerful!
I love RF soooo much. As expected, a performance ten times better than i imagined
Great Dancers! They deserve to be placed at Top 3.♥♥♥
the Michael Jackson bit was my favourite.
I'm from the Philippines and I'm also a RF fan. They look good visually and wohoo girl power but I still think upeepz had more swag and they had a cleaner routine.
Lol obviously, that's why Upeepz won First place
To be fair I think a lot of RF fans are a bit aggressive on this topic because at least in my opinion RF clearly got robbed last year.
+kool2btrue yup. I agree they definitely got robbed last year
+Dina_ lolllll but some RF fans are very bitter about upeepz winning. Not their fault RF got robbed last year
Caleb what do you mean?have you seen the comment section on Upeepz vid?
For me, this group should be Silver medalist with close margin on the champion UPeepz (Philippines). Lock "N" Lol lacks complexity and impact compared on these two groups. If Royal Family Varsity did it more cleaner than what we saw, they win this. No hating, just my opinion. Congrats to the winners specially Philippines! Thank you for making us proud! Kudos to all!
I agree
Ryan Reyes
That's fine if you were entertained more, but saying they should've lost to Royal Family because of complexity and impact is just straight up wrong.
Who else thinks Corbyn slayed throughout this whole performance?
Well isnt it pathetic that people will literally write hate comments on other crews preformances please if you hate rf dont view it because every view counts lol. I think all the crews that won medals all deserve it im a rf fan and always will be but the other crews were just deserving as well. Why come on here and spread your hate just view and be done. Thank You and have a nice day keep smiling maybe that will help.
Word!
well just look on the comments sections from other crews videos and youll see A LOT of hate from rf FANS
+kyle james mosot mate i think its equal other fans of other crews are just as guilty as rf fans so honestly its a two way street.
Bronze medalist??? You must be kidding!..
I knoww
They would of won Silver, but because of their deductions and prelims and semis, the got Bronze
It is a cumulative scoring?? that sucks
loook at the gold lol hahahah butthurt fangirl
+Renay P the scoring isn't cumulative the prelims and semis don't matter
As ALWAYS they never disappoint. EVER! Within the first few seconds I was ready to dance with them. The energy and raw emotion that they always put into there dance. It really is infectious.
When trendsetter and that other song blended together... OH MY... That was the most emotional performance IV EVER SEEN! and I felt it sooooo much
You can tell Parris didn't choreograph this :( was still good though.
I thought I was the only one that realised lol parris's dance routines are more technical and literally in your face 100%
kyra is the choreographer
kyra choreographed this year's routine
* Kyra, Kaea, Corby and Kirsten
+The Palace Fan yes? kaea also choreograph this sure? and at what time do you upload sororitys sdnz 2016 Performance? :)
i am legit crying because its so good. wtf is wrong with me
a year later and im still crying at how good this is wtf
+Priska Blom How about this year? Still crying? Because I am still! 😍
no me canso de verlos son los mejores
the most beautiful dance in the world!!!
I love it!!!
I hope im not the only one that notices the way Ruth is shaking her body. That's my favorite part of this whole routine. The body control she has is exceptional man.
Mind-blowing. Also I really loved the Michael Jackson part.
They still the Best not matter what y'all haters think❤️ haters can SMA💁🏾
Lol I like how other crews are stuck on dancehall while RF is transitioning to afrobeats.
Rewatching this in 2023 STILL GOT CHILLSSSSSSSS🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 They are Awesome!!
Maturing is realizing this is the best Royal family dance
They are undeniably one of the best, but this time I think the song choice and routine has less impact than Upeepz, but way better than Lock n Lol(Boring song choice and weird costume)
Kirsten,Corbyn, Ruthy , Samya, Jessica and Maddie. Request future looking bright af.
I wish the camera was closer and music louder.
I'm also mad bc u can't see ruthy vibrating in this angle :////
Im sure the judges saw it though
frontrow woul be great right
This might just be only the second reason to have frontrow views, the first reason was the facials. xD
At least the video quality isn't complete shit like how it was the past 3 years lol
Vibrating?! Like with a dildo or something?
Samyah's fall didn't get deducted, just to clear that up before this comment section becomes full of comment 'OMG SHE FELL THATS WHY THEY DIDNT GET GOLD!!!111!1' ☺️
love how Ruthy quickly helped her back up - well done RFV, slayed!!
Didn't notice that fall, time please?
+Adi Raza at about 4.01
I really don't see that fall, wich song's part?
+Jesse Addams about 4:01 on the right, its quite hard to see
how did they not get gold???? the crazy smooth transitions and the layer of details... wth, bronze?
1st and 2nd place are waaaaay more clean than them
watch silver and bronze
tbh I think the same thing as you did
+Werner Montala totally agree with you. So obvious! !
Wacth the group who claim the gold medal its more way better than the rest
layer of details? all they did was formations with hand gestures lol
Philippines was great, but I guess I have fallen in love with RF all these years to care about my own country. This deserves gold!
I FEEL THE CHILLSSSS RIGHT NOW!!! ROYAL FAMILY BLOOD IS INSANE!!!
4:22 just wanted to know the name of this song 😩
panda desiigner
samyah is next level
ok but imagine this routine is performed by rf last year, with keae kiel and everyone else
I think they would still come in second. In my opinion last year's performance was 1st place, heck it is easily the most watched mega-crew video from HHI and it has spawned many dance covers online from around the world. Yet the judges had their own criteria and a lot of the results pointed to clean old school hip hop.
there were too many mistakes last year, they killed it at the prelims :(
+bbmandy223MJ There are and I believe that it had lost it for them before, but in reality those mistakes amount to a .05 point deductions. I could count 5 mistakes total most ot which should have been difficult for the judges to see at all. I didn't get to see the score card from last year but it seems to me that regardless of the mistakes RF lost in score, which is ludicrous becuse their performance was far superior.
Ohhhh GOSHHH👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Best dance crew in da worldddd i never seen before
Love this crew soooo muchhhh
I can’t stop watching them ! They are so....yay
Anyone know the song at the end while the crowd were cheering and the outro came on?
olivia Michael Jackson they don't care about us immortal version or did you mean at the very end of the video
