Wow, I'm grateful to you for making me hate my 2009 JD 2305 tractor... less. Easy oil change with 1 oil plug, 1 hydraulic oil plug, no need to bleed air after a filter change.
Thanks for all your videos they are really helping me pick a tractor for my small 6 acre farm. I dont have a ton of money to spend on a tractor to just mow the fields and auger holes and this looks like it will fill my needs.
@@kenman200we have 11 acres and have owned a Summit TX25 since March. It has done everything I’ve needed it to do. Only one issue with the tractor, which was easily remedied (on a weekend, no less) by customer service. No regrets at all.
Just a comment on those pesty stuck filters, a long phillips head screwdriver stuck through the middle, then you can use the handle on one side to break the seal.
Ya next time I do the filter change I will probably get some clamps and install a shutoff valve on it also. Didn’t have any clamps on me at the time so didn’t want to have to stop filming and run to the store
Thanks for the video. I was thinking about getting one. Not anymore. Don't care how good the machine is I don't need that hasel. Be good and God bless.
Harbor Freight just came out with a Quinn 1/2 in drive low profile socket set. Back side fits a 7/8 wrench. Certainly did the trick for me!!! lots of interesting things to work with on these tractors!!!
Good video! I have only 8 hours on my TX25H and I noticed the large black loader support brackets that attach to the tractor frame are moving/sliding a little.. the black paint chipping was the giveaway. Just read the operator manual for the loader and it says on page 53 to check "all" loader bolts after the first 10 hours and then every 50 hours thereafter. Noticed any movement on yours?
It looks like you had a bit of an issue when installing the hydraulic drain plugs. That is because there is a gasket/washer that stuck to the housing for each drain plug. Not sure if noticed that on the plug that is furthest to the rear in the video, but it fell off at one point.
Ya one of them was a bit of pain since the washer stayed on and didn’t come off with the bolt. When they paint everything after the fact it just glues those parts on there…
So dose summit call for ISO32 and not a tractor hydraulic transmission universal fluid for wet clutch and wet clutch brakes. Just curious of your hydraulic fluid you put in. I'm not commenting to here about the brand of fluid just oil weight you used. Good job going by the book. I like the suction screen system they have on their.
Can’t wait to get one of these. My neighbor and his Brother both have green John Deere’s compact tractors that are always in the shop…lol. My father in law also has a JD compact tractor. Just spent over $4500 to get the entire electrical system and modules replaced…..junk. I usually put battery cut off switches on all my batteries on my equipment for when not in use. Do you know if Summit tractors have issues from disconnecting the battery for any reason? Also I would not blow air into the air cleaner housing that’s mounted in engine with air filter removed -just use a rag.
I've been looking at the Summit tractors for over a year! Trying to wait until next year when they come out with the larger models!?? On a scale of 1-10... what would you rate your experience with it? What attachments do you have...if any??
I've been following nearly all the videos regarding the Summit TX25 and looked at one at my local Home Depot. First I was a bit taken back by the size of the unit (very small), compared to my little Kioti 1918. I do like all the 'accessory' options included with the unit. I haven't heard if there is a backhoe in the works, but that would be a game changer for me. I would think in this day and age, Summit would have a video on the step-by-step maintenance intervals to assist you. I hope Summit is listening to you and other owners and the concerns you bring up. I may be inclined to wait for a bigger model. Time will tell!
They are supposed to be having a 37hp coming out this year unless they have changed it. And there is a backhoe available for these. The backhoe came out like a month ago, it is $8,000 for it.
@@McClureMadeOutdoors OK, that sounds plausible. Glad it isn't a leak. Those low hanging hydraulic lines look prone to damage and I was concerned that this had happened to you already. Thanks for letting me know.
Good video but here are some tips for you and others. You could put a inline shutoff below the injectors to eliminate bleeding at the pump and the mess you had when changing the filter. Definitely should have pressure washed before starting. You never greased the loader at all. And avoid crescent wrenches, buy a cheap set at Harbor Freight that will fit your tractor. A lot gets lost in converting to English with these foreign tractors. My old MF65 owners manual was spot on with awesome clear pictures, not these newer compact tractors.
Definitely plan on putting a shutoff on it next time I change that filter! I usually grease the loader every 5-10 hours so I just didn’t even think about showing that. Definitely have some other tools I want to buy for next time!
I have watched 50 service videos for a few brands and this was the least user friendly so far and a messy job due to drain locations. brands like KIOTI had a much better design for maintenance on their items. he did a good job doing the work on the Summit but it was not a easy job compared to other brands.
BTW, an old trick learned working with automobiles. Never drain any fluids from any reservoir until you first make certain you can open the fill plug where you FILL that reservoir. If you drain the fluid first, then find out you just cannot open up the fill plug, you will be in a real pickle. Just a FYI.
Way way too involved for me,,that's why I bought a huge huge john deere tractor now too,,they use all screw o filters and u can go online for all maintenance info now too..plus I'm a John deere dealer now too....go green now now too. John deere too...
It’s obvious that most engineers don’t change their own oil. Thanks for the video
I don't even OWN a tractor (yet) and I enjoyed this video! Thank you for taking the time and effort to help someone else out!!!

My John Deer was definitely easier to do the oil and filters on. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the heads up regarding 50 hour maintenance. Good job!

@@mikeechan4411 definitely…I have a 5’ brush hog and it does just fine. Same thing with a 3point tiller. Zero issues.
Follow-up. Looks like Summit just came out with a 50hr Maint video! Thank you Summit!
Great job! A very realistic at what it really takes to perform this service that will save others, including myself, a lot of time.
Just a comment on those pesty stuck filters, a long phillips head screwdriver stuck through the middle, then you can use the handle on one side to break the seal.
Good old school trick for sure! Just drive it right through and turn it like a T-handle. Going to throw the old filter away anyway
My suggestion; Use a box end or open end wrench on the bolts not an adjustable wrench.
Thanx for making this video. Saved me a lot of time.
Thanks for putting out this video, I have 13.9 hrs on my Summit, so I will be watching this again.
There are hose clamps, which can you use to clamp and block the diesel line, so you wont spill that much of it

Thanks again man keep us updated thank you

That was what I was thinking. All my tractors take universal tractor hydraulic fluid.
My Tx25 has fuel pre filter inline before pump what did you do about it.
Good video. Thank you Sir👍
Is your key in the on position?? Sounds like your pump is running
That fuel filter is a problem and disappointment!??
You are correct, they should not paint over filters.
What type of Trans & Diff Lube did you use? (Lucas SAE 80W-90 or 85W-140) What were the part numbers for the filters you bought? Thank you in advance.

@3:00+ Is that a hydraulic fluid leak there? Those lines on that cylinder in front of the front axle seem kind of exposed to potential damage to me.
Water from washing the tractor before hand would be my guess.
