Hey GlitchxCity. I know this is an older video but I gotta say thanks for remixing this song. Cynthia is by far my favorite champion of all time, beating her in Diamond with only a level 70 infernape was basically a right of passage for me :p. These days I'm a lot smarter about training my pokemon, my current platinum team are all level 40 so far, and I'm about to get Giratina.
Spiritomb No Weaknesses Togekiss Air Slash Flinching Roserade That Special Attack Lucario That Moveset and Stats Milotic Bulkiness at its Best Garchomp Don't Even Need to Explain
Jonas Rogalski-Kohrs I spent so many hours trying to beat her...omfg. These kiddies don’t understand the pain. Black and White was the last game with actual challenging battles tbh.
@@litrally6973 See I initially went in thinking I could do that and cheese it, but that Milotic got me with Mirror Coat at the last second. Damned Mirror Coat.
@Shourya Kumar VII A / Aishwary Neelkamal 1st C still wouldn't use it. I won't use fairies against her, i want to taste the sweet terror while facing her again :D
Her Spiritomb had literally no weaknesses Her Milotic was straight up from hell Her Garchomp Her Roserade was stupidly OP for a Roserade Her Gastrodon was the strongest Gastrodon in the world Her Lucario was the master of 1 hit k/o Cynthia : The best and strongest champion of all
Do I have to tell you everything about Defeating Cynthia. 1. (Spiritomb) Use Lopunny by using foresight and High Jumpkick. 2: (Milotic) Use Abomasnow grass/ice and Wood hammer. 3. (Garchomp) Use Froslass and ice beam or Blizzard it. 4. (Rosarade) Use Staraptor and Brave Bird against a Grass/Poison Type, use brave bird at your own Risk. 5. (Gastrodon) Use Abomasnow and Wood hammer for an advantage against a water/Ground. 6. (Lucario) Use Infernape and use Close combat or Flare Blitz, use flare blitz at your own Risk. That's all the pokemon that you need to beat Cynthia.
For me: Her Spiritomb was walled by Empoleon Her Lucario, Togekiss got rekt by my Garchomp Her Roserade had a longer fight with Garchomp but lost Her Milotic was straight up from hell Her Garchomp was slower than mine, but sitrus berry turned 2HKO from dragon claw to 3HKO, I had to use 3 max revives EDIT: I was underleveled and on set battle mode EDIT2: Garchomp was level 54, Empoleon was level 51 and other Pokemon were level 45 (I'm lazy lol)
How to win with a level 40 - 53 team: Start with Roserade Toxic Attract Full Restore When Spiritomb dies, she will send out Togekiss Send out Rotom-Frost that you can get via DNS hacking your DS Blizzard/Thunderbolt until dead She will send out Lucario Send out any fast Fighting type, preferably Infernape Swords Dance -> Close Combat Milotic Use Thunder Punch After Infernape dies, send out something that can stall, preferably a Crobat with Confuse Ray and Fly. Watch Milotic kill herself Garchomp Max Revive/Revival Herb Rotom Hope Blizzard hits If it doesn't be a bitch and spam Double Team Roserade Preferably stay in and Blizzard, but if you can't, simply spam Thunderbolt until you die. If that doesnt work, revive something with a supereffective move and win!
literal the only trainer i had to overlever to beat U-Necrozma is easy to kill with a mimikyu with toxic Whitney can be dead with a good defense geodude Red has the difficulty of the levels, but its easy even if going 10 levels below
+Bryce Thornton Cynthia throws out mega Grachamp *Sends out Mega Sissor to spam areal ace* Win Trollololololol perfect ivs for attack and speed win even metal claw would put that thing down so fast. I had harder battles pokemon reborn gives you friken field effects that harm your pokemon or work to your advantage.
The best thing about Cynthia is that she is someone who researches secrets and learn a lot about the mystery of SInnoh, and here team reflects this aspect : You can play the game without hear about Spiritomb It is not that easy to get a garchomp if you never played the game before Feebas is only available in a cave, and you need a feebas to get a milotic Togekiss is only obtainable through the egg she gave you Roserade is the easiest of the lot to get Lucario is again, obtainable only through an egg
Thats what makes Cynthia the best champion imo. She had 5 pokemon that are rare and powerful, which any normal player would use if they get their hands on one and they never step in other's typing. Roserade is the odd one but its a great grass-poison type any you have a high chanve of using one if you didn't go for grass starter. Only reason not to mirror her entire team is you have a starter and some of her pokemon are impossibly hard to get (Milotic and Spiritomb without online)
@@GM.Nobody of course, the big problem is that getting feebas alone is even worse than a massive guide dangit, let alone finding the 4 fucking tiles in the entire one room you can fish feebas from, and those 4 tiles are completly different per copy of diamond/pearl/platinum, AND change daily
@@gypsysprite4824 it's per save file. Changes each time you start a new game. It's the same with the munchlax - 2 of the 4 honey trees you can potentially find it on are based on your trainer ID. Munchlax however is only _1% encounter rate on those 4 specific honey trees._ mixing records is, was, a way to narrow down the locations. If that mechanic is still there in the remakes, I hope it does more, like increase shiny odds or buff encounter rates of the very rare pokemon or number of trees munchlax can show up at. something.
That image is incorrect, she is pictured with a master ball! Cynthia doesn't need a master ball, any Pokemon would beg to be on her team. She doesn't need to look for legendaries, they come to her.
Willy_Networks Lol that’s pretty embarrassing; just Return + Double team + rest + lum berry. Honestly with the 30+ level advantage, the lum berry’s not gonna be needed. Fourth slot is something to hit ghost.
People who are *really really good* at Pokemon seem to not understand why Cynthia is such a feared Champion. Let's break it down: She comes out the gate with a swirling ball of evil that the player has *never* seen before, as the odds of a player finding Spiritomb on their first run is virtually zero. On top of that, the thing had no weaknesses at the time, and wouldn't until two generations later. Milotic was a tank, and more than that, it was a tank that regenerated health every turn thanks to Aqua Ring. And Lord help you if you tried to hit it with a special attack. Lucario and Garchomp are both heavy hitters that will outspeed the majority of your Pokemon, so a lot of your party would go down in one hit to either of them before you could even attack. Remember that the majority of Pokemon players, especially back in Generation 4, aren't looking at the stat distributions of their party; they're going through the game with the fun new Pokemon they've discovered along the way.
Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself We Were Kids Trying To Have Fun Then She Came Along Smacked Our DS Out Of Our Hands And Made Us Get Competitive Thus Pokemon Sweats Were Born Then Red Came And Beat The Sweats In That Same Generation
cynthia is also the only champ (that i know of) that has a balanced team. so if your not prepared or did not build a team around her your gonna have a bad time.
As an 8 year old kid, i thought that defeating Cynthia would be the hardest thing of my life. Now 16, the hardest thing of my life is still defeating Cynthia.
Your one lone Pokemon that has to live with survivor’s guilt: “My teammates. I couldn’t save them. That Gastrodon. We never saw it. We never saw it coming, maaannn....”
Seems like everyone who’s played through Sinnoh has a Cynthia story to tell, so here’s mine. I remember it took me at least three tries to finally beat her as a kid. My Palkia was Lvl 64, my beloved ace, and the last Pokémon standing. Garchomp was down and all we had to do was beat her Milotic. Little did I know that thing was packing Ice Beam.... That loss has been ingrained in my head ever since.
Legit hard grinded my Empoleon to lvl100 to be able to 1 man sweep E4 and her, but still a 50% chance of winning against her Garchomp if my Hydropump didn't oneshot it
Being a Gen 4 baby was actually the most epic thing to happen in my childhood. I used to spend hours and hours with my friends, trying to catch all the Pokémon. After Black and White 2, Nintendo closed the doors and stopped producing Pokémon in my country. Now it's too expensive for me.. but one day, I'll buy the remake of Gen 4, and it will be epic.
Hunter Nopson Well, the remake of gen 4 will soon to come.Usually they do in an order of 1-3 games of the new generation, then they do a remake for a "Cooldown" until the next new generation. Since OR and AS are released, gen 4 will be next in line for the remakes. Wish you in the best of luck to be able to get it, I was also a gen 4 lover.
Hunter Nopson Yeah same with me, Platinum was one practically my invitation into Pokemon. While I can still access all the games I'm with you that the 4th gen remake will definitely be one of my most favorite games.
***** We may end up getting remakes of the remakes FR/LF... but I Really hope we get the 4th Gen remakes... I mean Cythia and the dimension stuff and awesome Pokemon like Darkrai. The region was really nice... Id love to see it :D
"Dimensional Pearl, ??? Diamond" that's my idea of names. Don't know about diamond, but I like dimensional pearl because palkia is the master of space/dimensions. So it's cool. Time Diamond would just seem too simple.
@@eLite-Tiss91 He's not that fast. He's outsped by pretty much any other sweeper. He's fast for non sweeper standards I guess. Weavile will easily handle him. Most water types that use ice moves are bulky enough to take a hit from him. Just don't be critically under leveled.
@@FrostyTheCookie what an annoying kiddo right here, just enjoy the game and shut, ur literally under every comments saying that was easy, of course it is if u are a 16 yo plus guy with no mental disease, just get a life, nobody is talking about competitive sets, even my fckg 12 yo cousin would know to use an ice type move against Garch.
3 of her Pokémon requires high friendship to evolve (Roselia before Roserade, Togetic before Togekiss, Lucario), 1 requires beauty, and in the recent Pokemon Journeys anime, we see her as a young girl with Gible from egg inception to her Garchomp now. Considering these factors, it’s hard to believe Cynthia isn’t the greatest trainer of all time, one who has mixed adventurous spirit with care and love for her Pokémon to become an incredible force.
I grew up with Black & White, made to the post-game Cynthia battle. I tried so many times and I think I did eventually win, but it was all at the cost of me maxing out my total playtime to over 1000 hours.
I don't think I quite understood the concept of class until I faced Cynthia. She is to this day, to me, the classiest of all champions. Classy, yet powerful, that demands respect.
kittyqueen9000 when i battled diantha for the first time, all i literally did was use my Xerneas and spam moon blast, and i used geomancy i think like once, diantha is the easiest to me. Hard level1-101. Cynthia 2.Steven from Oras 10. Cythia
kittyqueen9000 Didn't say she was hard but I thought she was the hardest! Out of Alder, Iris and Diantha, Diantha was the hardest, if you want to include N in there I would say N was the hardest.
I admit on my first play of Diamond, I lost to Cynthia so bad. Managed to get past the Spiritomb, Gastrodon, and the Roserade fairly well. Then it went to crap when that damn Milotic hit the field. Never before have I seen a Grass type get bodied by a Water type so quickly before. Even when that sea serpent was sent packing, Garchomp came out and all hell broke loose. I remember constntly switching between my Staraptor and Luxray just to avoid her earthquakes and to get that attack stat lowered thanks to both Pokemon having intimidate. When that monster finally went down, I foolishly thought it was over.....then, Lucario showed me what a late game sweep was.
I get you man I beat her final Pokémon (Garchomp) with my Bastiodon after tanking an Earthquake at about 3 HP left and taking it out with an Hidden Power Ice
switch in luxray to get the intimidate drop, trick the AI by going into staraptor for the intimidate drop then into gyarados for another drop, ice fang then profit then there's just the rest of the team :/
Imagine this: You're facing Cynthia and five of her pokemon. She starts out with her spirtitomb which will send you to the darkest abyss with all its attacks. After that spiritomb is taken out, her Roserade comes. Setting some toxic hazards that unsuspecting foes will have to suffer from untill they fall down, as it attacks you in a viscous manner. After the Roserade has been taken down her Togekiss comes, in all its grace it slashes you down and all you can do is watch in fear as you watch how your mons get slowly crippled down. Soon after her Lucario comes, with fast furious blows it beats you down untill you finally stop it before you have to face the tank thats called Milotic. You try to damage it, you try to take it down, but it takes every hit without any trouble as it stands there in all its glory, like it a gatekeeper waiting for something to come.... You did it you've taken her pokemon down, you're going to be the champion!! Then you hear a loud footstep from the hallway, you get a feeling in your stomach that only described as raw fear. You're quaking in your boots all your mons are still standing, but for how long. The steps come closer..... Cynthia pulls out her bracelet and says a chant.... There's light coming from the tunnel.... A monster is coming..... It starts to do a dragon like dance.... You try to keep it within yourself, but deep down you know.... It was all for nothing... your hopes and dreams were all in vain... This is what stands between you as a mere trainer and her as the champion... EDIT: Gamefreak, give Garchomp DD in the remakes you cowards. I want the taste of blood filling my mouth
+DaMan Games Lol so true I originally destroyed Cynthia first go until we met for a second time in Pokemon white 2.....in undella town........I cried xD
@madison sanderson For me it wasn't THAT challenging fight. I know why people say Cynthia is difficult, but when one knows how to play, one can win. I lost to her the first time, I admit, but because my strongest Pokemon - Empoleon - was level 53. The rest was 50 - 52 (I have the habit of being underleveked in playthroughs). And my team was particularly weak to Ground attacks But when everyone were 56 - 58, it was a cakewalk. Only Houndoom w/Heat Rock and Garchomp w/Leftovers were enough. As I said, if you know how to use, you can win easily But... There is another Garchomp main (who actually uses this remix as the battle theme) who intimidates me quite effectively
"You should know, child, that among the trainers of the world, there is one who stands out among the rest... Beautiful, indomitable, unbelievable...a born champion. Her grace on and off the field is beyond compare. She is a monster masquerading as a maiden. A master among masters, the strongest of the strong. They say there was one from Kanto who could challenge her, but no one has heard from him in years. She is the Queen of the World... Cynthia." ~Blackthorn City Gym Leader Clair, interview from PKPM News, when asked who was the strongest trainer in all the world
Noveske No. Every main series game (except X/Y) got a third version of it´s game in the same generation. Platinum was like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Black&White 2 a third legendarie´s version. A remake would mean Sinnoh in Gen 7!
I remember the first time I played gen 4 shortly after it came out. If you don't do the Keystone event, and don't cheat, then when you battle her is the first time you see Spiritomb in the game, and I was like Wtf is this thing?!
@Melachromatic That's exactly how I was when I first battled Cynthia. I lost of course, but didn't waste any time to backtracking to get that pokemon xD
Her difficulty was one of the marking points of the game. I believe they wont screw that. They could make her slightly easier, or add aditional difficulty modes. HOpefully they just take what made her this absolute powerhouse of a champion and remake it so its just as mentally oppressing as she was. But i have faith that it will be an amazing game. Hope to see an actual 3D Platinum xd
I know this will probably never happen considering Nintendo is more of a casual gaming company but one day I hope Nintendo releases a hard core Pokemon game for the older fans that being a darker story and Incredibly harder gameplay and in my opinion if I was developing I would purposely make the champion always have higher level Pokemon than yours so it actually feels like she trained her entire life to even get there so you actually feel like you're fighting a champion
If you're looking for a really challenging Pokemon game with dark themes, check out Pokemon Reborn. The Gym battles will wreck you so much. I've been playing it for three months and I've only got two badges!
+I AM THAT GUY like I said though, be careful. The person who made Reborn made entirely new battle mechanics, and 9 times out of 10, they'll help the foe and hinder you! Reborn actually requires legitimate battle strategy to win most battles.
Gen 4 was my first. Diamond, 10 years old. Jeez, the Elite Four was hard. When I was finally able to make it to the champion for the first time (after several attempts), Cynthia being champion was the most mind-blowing moment of my life. Literally. However, I lost almost instantly, due to my Pokemon having barely any PP. It took dozens of tries, but I eventually came out on top, a feeling I will never forget. I love Gen 4.
Gen 4 was my first also.I was 7 when I got it.I thought just because your pokemon were really high levels and they had strong moves that they were better.I learned the hard way
Incbyte Best plot? Not dp. Arguably just better than gsc or rby. DP had too many flaws. Platinum on the other hand is my all time favorite game. It literally blows your mind if you thought that the ending will be the same, oh NOO cyrus already knew that the lake trio can balance one of the legendaries but not both....
I'm gonna be honest here, the first time I went against Diantha, the only fact that I won is because I spamed Yveltal's Oblivion Wing attack on her three last pokemon and Yveltal was my last pokemon, on it's last legs, with nothing to revive any other of my pokemons.
Spiritomb: the soul eater monster Gastrodon: the wretched slug with only one weakness Roserade: the terrorist who use explosive seeds as a bomb Lucario: the cold hearted fighter with an unusual way to bring down it’s rivals Milotic: the beautiful and deadly siren from the depths with an astounding resistance Garchomp: the psychopath butcher who enjoy torture sessions
Gen 4 in GENeral was pretty brutal(In comparison to the other games), I mean, all of it's games were pretty hard to nuzlocke, and Gen 5 followed in suit, although it was a little bit easier
I actually had no trouble with Cynthia or Whitney. With Cynthia I had a Torterra for most the battle, and then Raichu to take care of the Togekiss. With Whitney, on my first playthrough of SS, I used Togetic's Metronome. The first move I used on her Miltank happened to be Fissure. On my second playthrough of SS I lost three times, and then I went all the way back to Violet City to grab the Onix, and trained it up solely to beat the Miltank.
The games allow you to be overpowered by the time you reach the E4. Imagine having to face the E4 on equal terms? Meaning everyone fights each other with Pokemon set at either level 50 or 100. Fighting Cynthia on equal terms might be one of the hardest challenges the games have to offer. Her Pokemon have perfect EVs and natures. Garchomp, Spiritomb, Togekiss, Lucario and the others she uses throughout the series can all be freaking fearsome.
Gold Silver & Crystal were a bit like that if you trained more than 3 Pokémon then you would have to grind to make sure you were at a capable level by the time you hit the Elite 4 if you just had the 3 then you could go through with no grinding and be on par with the trainers along the way.
Me : *sends out weavile* Cynthia : *sends out Garchomp* Weavile used ice punch Garchomp survives in like 3 hp Me: *Watch your jet, bro* Garchomp used flamethrower Me: *WATCH YOUR JET* !!!!!!!
@@lechugacc3459 XD me also nowadays I love having Potential in Pkmn but I want to feel pkmn again like a 5Year Old playing without watching the stats (Exept HP & Gender)
You probably have to wait until gen 8 for the Sinnoh remakes. Gen 4=Gen 2 remakes, Gen 6=Gen 3 remakes. So you still have a good minimum of 4 years to wait.
The Pixelist Oh, how the masses exaggerate. It is only 10 points and you never know that she may have a Sandstorm pokemon. That, and it gains defences; max speed at level 50 is a decent 158 and M.Heracross loses speed as well. I don't hear you complain about that now, did I? Furthermore, you sideline the fact of base 170 attack. Plus, M.Mawile, Tyranitar, Metagross and Sylveon are very slow. Do you complain about that? No you do not.
I think its a very likely possibility. third gen had 1st gen remake, fourth gen had 2nd gen remake, fifth was weird and had a squeal, and sixth had 3rd gen remake. So based off of how things are going I'd say seventh gen with 4th gen remake will probably happen. I'd expect an announcement for it about 1/1.5 years from now
*”One look at you tells me many things about you. Together, you and your Pokémon overcame all the challenges you faced, however difficult. It means that you've triumphed over any personal weaknesses, too. The power you learned... I can feel it emanating from you. That's enough talking. Let's get on with why you're here. I, Cynthia, accept your challenge as the Pokémon League Champion! There won't be any letup from me!”* *You had no idea what you was in for once you pressed A after this.*
It's my dream ! When I think about it (the remake) and the music/gym leaders/e4/champion and the scene on the top of the Mont Coronet ... I get goose bumps
Yohan Beekmans the champion still has a chance to be female, still. Plus, what lore? Unless the Champ plays a role in the story the lore doesn’t even matter to the Champion’s character.
@@yohanbeekmans1136 They mainly said it because the Champion and the strongest trainers were normally male. Red, Lance, Steven, Cyrus, etc. And she is a single female who is way more of a challenge. Cyrus is the closest of those guys, who can do something when we don't considers levels. Since Steven's team is pretty much screwed against Milotic, Roserade and Garchomp. Same goes for Red and Milotic's Icebeam just throws Lance's dragons in the freezer
And then Volo existed. Cynthia team in a very different format (notably speed) without abilities or items and both Giritina forms. You're screwed one way or another.
LuggyBro, darn you young whippersnappers, when I was your age, we had no access to powerful Pokémon like garchomp and solgaleo, we only had torterra. Torterra, and a hell ton of patience. So yeah, I agree with you, Luggybro
Dude, any five year old that can get to Cynthia past all of those hax isn't a five year old you want to mess with. You literally can't get anywhere in the battle tree without competitive breeding, the thing is set up so that only perfect 'mons can make it through, and even then the Pokemon in there are all chosen to counter your team, and they also have some scary good AI as well as counter moves (not to mention perfect stats). If a five year old can go through that and make it to Cynthia, that five year old is more of a fucking badass than we ever were as children.
I can't believe just how much determination my younger self had. She literally had a lvl 80-something Elektabuzz who knew Rock Smash and 3 Electric type moves. It Went up against the entire elite four, and used all 3 of its ele-moves on every single one of Bertha's pokemon. And then it did the same against Cynthia's Garchomp. The determination part is the fact that I used 40 plus revives throughout the entire run. It's too bad I don't have that determination anymore...
Battle synopsis (imagine it high quality anime action animated): 0:00 - 0:24 Shows Cynthia as a young impoverish child enduring hardships from her family. Her parents are fighting and she's crouched in the corner, holding a newspaper clipping of a legendary trainer with a red cap winning the Kanto region Pokemon competition. It zooms in on her tearful eyes, which furrows in to a determined scowl. 0:25 - 1:00 Cuts to a totally different trainer (probably Lucas or Dawn, the main protagonists) in modern times. He just started a pokemon battle in a Colosseum filled with spectators and flashing lights. His opponent? A now older confident Cynthia. Lucas throws out his Pokemon, it stands intimidating. She moves her hands over her Pokeballs attached to her waist, grazing over a masterball, but ultimately picking one from the back. 1:01 - 1:36 Cynthia tosses out her first Pokemon, her Lucario. It flexes and poses as its darkened eyes seem to suck all the light in to them. Suddenly, the Lucario tosses its hand back and forms an aura sphere attack, and launches it at Lucas's pokemon, tossing it back so roughly, it slams against Lucas, surprising him by how easily his Pokemon was defeated. It dawns on his face that this isn't going to be an easy battle. Lucario tosses another aura sphere towards Lucas as he lets out his next Pokemon, a ghost type (Mismagius?). The aura sphere phases through the ghost type and slams in to the Colosseum's wall, causing an explosion of debris. 1:37 - 2:13 The ghost pokemon lets out a psychic type attack which doesn't end Lucario, and Lucario looks at it determined despite its weakening. A second psychic attack finally does Lucario in, causing Cynthia to withdraw her pokemon, a Spiritomb. The Spiritomb throws a quick ghost attack at the opponent ghost, causing what appears to be a terrifying haze of haunted confusion until it falls unconcious, returning to Lucas's ball. 2:14 - 2:44 Lucas sends out a water type Pokemon that lets out an absolute fury of water type attacks, eventually wearing down the stubborn Spiritomb (each attack goes with the thumping beat). Cynthia releases her Roserade, which whips the water pokemon with a massive vine like sword taking it down instantly. It quickly cuts to fire overcoming the Roserade from Lucas's fire type pokemon, taking the Roserade down. 2:45 - 3:57 Cynthia throws her ball up high, revealing her Milotic as it shimmers around the bright lights, its long enormous body waving in the air as if it were eloquently flying. It slams down sending an enormous torrent of water against the fire type, ending it quickly. Lucas sends out a plant/bug type that uses tons of fines from the ground to encircle Milotic's body, sapping it of its energy. With a defiant glare, it goes down instantly replaced by Cynthia's next pokemon, the Togekiss. It uses a flying move to avoid the vines and devastate Lucas's plant pokemon until it is taken high and tossed down, slamming it in the ground next to Lucas. Despite the carnage, the Togekiss smiles sweetly to Lucas and flies back to Cynthia's side. 3:58 - 4:49 Lucas is startled and tired by everything which transpired. He looks at Cynthia, a stoic yet terrifying look on her face. It's as if she knows she is going to win. Lucas recalls moments in the past where he's fought tough trainers, as well as the different adventures he and his pokemon have endured. A glimmer appears in his eyes as he reaches back to pull out his sixth and final Pokemon. 4:50 - 4:59 Lucas reveals his most powerful Pokemon yet (not sure what), and it lets out a powerful attacks that blinds the screen, showing Togekiss knocked out. 5:00 - 5:36 Cynthia smiles, tossing out her last Pokemon. When it emerges, the entire stadium grows dark and fills with a thick smoke. Lucas's last Pokemon looks around confused only to see the skies open up with Cynthia's Garchomp hovering above. The cloud separation was due to a blasting attack sent down from above, destroying the Colosseum's ground below it. Suddenly, the Garchomp dives directly in to the exposed sand underneath, and great shaking tosses both Lucas and his Pokemon about. Lucas's pokemon shoots attacks in to the ground randomly where bursts of earth seem to emerge. 5:37 - 6:07 Now disoriented, Lucas's pokemon looks about only to turn its head to find Garchomp right in front of it, everything moving in slow motion. It dug out from right below Lucas's Pokemon's feet, and pulls it down into the ground. Great blasts and shakes emerge everywhere until a huge beaming explosion emerges from the center of the ring. Light pours out of the ground, and from its top a smothering figure falls, landing right next to Lucas. It is his final pokemon, and it is knocked out cold. 6:08 - Lucas slowly looks towards where Cynthia stood, except now she's standing right over him, appearing a giant. Her face is covered in shadow, the cruel glow of her eyes the only thing shining through. In an instant her Garchomp slams right next to her, covering her shoulders and back with one of it's enormous wings/arm. It growls an intimidating smile at Lucas, and as the song draws to a close it zooms in on Lucas's face before cutting to him waking in a scream. It was a memory of his battle with Cynthia mere days before, he peers over at the second place ribbon on his desk, framed. When he looks over at the television, it shows clips of Cynthia post battle giving victory interviews. Lucas's eyes show contempt and anger, followed by tears. The video ends with Cynthia looking at the camera. Despite her beautiful smile and cheerful face, a glimmer of white and red fill her eyes hinting as the cruel devastation she inflicts upon opponents, and the song ends cutting to black.
To put into perspective, her garchomp could be palkia, dialga, AND giratina at level. So not even being a bitch and using legendaries could save you from this fight. Although it would help.
Me at 12: I cant Beat this Game! q.q I hate her forever! -.- Me now: The only challenge I've ever had in Pokemon... I thank her for this expierence :'). Favorite PKMN Trainer forever.
megapowerman12 Yeah but my team wasn't planned. ^^ I had literally 1/2 my team, a few items and 1 of the 3 I had left were weak to all her pokemon. But to win when everything was against you... Ohhh! Nothing better :D
Neither was mine but I ended up with one pokemon to counter each trainer with, and Cynthia was not too hard either, guess we all have different problems as we have different teams.
This was by far the hardest and most intimidating Elite four/Champion that I've faced in my childhood and it was.... Brutal, yet awesome and trilling. Truly why I love Gen 4 so much
Cindy Bean If you mean Cynthia's team was intimidating then yeah, I was scared to death when i battle her for the first time. But felt unbeatable when my lv. 100 empolean trashed the team and left the rest to Palkia, ah good times. Gen 4 is MY gen 1 (literally it was my first pokemon game)
10 лет назад+4
Craft Gaming - Matt and Ice I feel ya man, same here!
To be honest, Red was more of a hassle due to the fact that your team was mostly beaten down going through St. Silver, not to mention most of his Pokémon were at least 8 levels higher in level than mine.
Craft Gaming - Matt and Ice I finished Pokémon Pearl the day i started playing. My team was a lvl 43 Staraptor, lvl 38 Empoleon, lvl 26 Azumarill and lvl 40 Bronzong. That was 3 years ago and I still don't understand how I beat her... It was my first Pokémon game and this gen is my favorite :)
Her team has an 11 out of possible 12 typing. The stats are maxed out and each one is over 500base except for spiritomb which is a 485 with only a fairy weakness. Each one with a move pool set to beat nearly every gym. Without a doubt one of the top three fights in all Pokemon games.
This Girl really is something... I never fought her as the CHAMP (!) but I came across her in Black and White. Until that Point I never even heard of her or seen her. +LetsAMP Yes, yes they do. In Diamond, her team is all lv60+, and yours, most often, is mid-50s. Now, I got really lucky after 38 tries: My lv.58 Infernape vs. Cynthia's lv.65(?) Garchomp. Infernape literally had 1pp left on his moves. Which move? Flare Blitz. Garchomp and Infernape are both at low health. Garchomp moves first, using Dragon Rush. But it misses. Infernape uses Flare Blitz. It hits. Critical hit! It's not very effective... Garchomp fainted! Infernape gets hit with recoil, and... Leaves it with 1HP. I won, because her attack missed, and I scored a crit. *AND* because god ol' Infernape lived.
But Platinum is a remake already lel I dun think there will be one so soon. If theres going to be a remake its most likely to be Kanto's. cause Oldschoolers.
Chaos Kon Lol!! Platinum is not a remake. The third releases aren't remakes. They are what you call regional revisions. For example: HeartGold and SoulSilver are both Pokemon Crystal remakes. THOSE are remakes. Regional revisions aren't.

LET'S be real, this game gave me 3 crits the first time I battled her, in a row. I almost felt cheated. What are the odds?

So basically she gave 60 million Togepis (that's the amount of players who bought and played DPPt yet)
Her Spiritomb had literally no weaknesses
Her Milotic was straight up from hell
Her Garchomp
Her Roserade was stupidly OP for a Roserade
Her Gastrodon was the strongest Gastrodon in the world
Her Lucario was the master of 1 hit k/o
Cynthia : The best and strongest champion of all
Do I have to tell you everything about Defeating Cynthia.
For me:
Her Spiritomb was walled by Empoleon
Her Lucario, Togekiss got rekt by my Garchomp
Her Roserade had a longer fight with Garchomp but lost
Her Milotic was straight up from hell
Her Garchomp was slower than mine, but sitrus berry turned 2HKO from dragon claw to 3HKO, I had to use 3 max revives
EDIT: I was underleveled and on set battle mode
EDIT2: Garchomp was level 54, Empoleon was level 51 and other Pokemon were level 45 (I'm lazy lol)
Togekiss was better than Gastrodon. Gastrodon was actually shit, and why two water types.
How to win with a level 40 - 53 team:
Start with Roserade
Toxic
Attract
Full Restore
When Spiritomb dies, she will send out Togekiss
Send out Rotom-Frost that you can get via DNS hacking your DS
Blizzard/Thunderbolt until dead
She will send out Lucario
Send out any fast Fighting type, preferably Infernape
Swords Dance -> Close Combat
Milotic
Use Thunder Punch
After Infernape dies, send out something that can stall, preferably a Crobat with Confuse Ray and Fly.
Watch Milotic kill herself
Garchomp
Max Revive/Revival Herb Rotom
Hope Blizzard hits
If it doesn't be a bitch and spam Double Team
Roserade
Preferably stay in and Blizzard, but if you can't, simply spam Thunderbolt until you die.
If that doesnt work, revive something with a supereffective move and win!
I defeated her using only a Blaziken. In fact, I beat the entire elite four and Cynthia with that same Blaziken.

The best thing about Cynthia is that she is someone who researches secrets and learn a lot about the mystery of SInnoh, and here team reflects this aspect :
You can play the game without hear about Spiritomb
It is not that easy to get a garchomp if you never played the game before
Feebas is only available in a cave, and you need a feebas to get a milotic
Togekiss is only obtainable through the egg she gave you
Roserade is the easiest of the lot to get
Lucario is again, obtainable only through an egg
Thats what makes Cynthia the best champion imo. She had 5 pokemon that are rare and powerful, which any normal player would use if they get their hands on one and they never step in other's typing. Roserade is the odd one but its a great grass-poison type any you have a high chanve of using one if you didn't go for grass starter. Fourth slot is something to hit ghost.
People who are *really really good* at Pokemon seem to not understand why Cynthia is such a feared Champion. Let's break it down:
She comes out the gate with a swirling ball of evil that the player has *never* seen before, as the odds of a player finding Spiritomb on their first run is virtually zero.
Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself We Were Kids Trying To Have Fun Then She Came Along Smacked Our DS Out Of Our Hands And Made Us Get Competitive Thus Pokemon Sweats Were Born
Then Red Came And Beat The Sweats In That Same Generation
cynthia is also the only champ (that i know of) that has a balanced team. so if your not prepared or did not build a team around her your gonna have a bad time.

The first female champion was also the most difficult.
the second female was a joke

Gen 4... The hardest champ of all time in my opinion... Theres no region which deserves a remake more than Sinnoh!
true! i love sinnoh its my favourite Region
***** Agreed!
Pretty sure that Platinum was the remake.
Noveske No. Every main series game (except X/Y) got a third version of it´s game in the same generation. Platinum was like Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Black&White 2 a third legendarie´s version. A remake would mean Sinnoh in Gen 7!
If so, it would be for another handheld.
I remember the first time I played gen 4 shortly after it came out. If you don't do the Keystone event, and don't cheat, then when you battle her is the first time you see Spiritomb in the game, and I was like Wtf is this thing?!
ikr
@Melachromatic
That's exactly how I was when I first battled Cynthia. I lost of course, but didn't waste any time to backtracking to get that pokemon xD
Same, I was using every type of move I had and was like "Why can't I hit it super effectively?"
I fear that the diamond and pearl remakes won't be this epic
Her difficulty was one of the marking points of the game. I believe they wont screw that. They could make her slightly easier, or add aditional difficulty modes. HOpefully they just take what made her this absolute powerhouse of a champion and remake it so its just as mentally oppressing as she was. But i have faith that it will be an amazing game. Hope to see an actual 3D Platinum xd
@@leonardocarolo6961 people will still complain since GF will make it and they will have to pay for Pokemon Home to transfer all their old mons
They already nerfed her *accidentally* by introducing fairy types.
@@VictorbrineSC Togekiss: "I see this as an absolute win."
Pokemon announcement tomm so replayed diamond on the ol ds. I wish they would give me the remakes i desire so i can feel 7 again
AleZelda thanks I will give it a try
+I AM THAT GUY like I said though, be careful. The person who made Reborn made entirely new battle mechanics, and 9 times out of 10, they'll help the foe and hinder you! Reborn actually requires legitimate battle strategy to win most battles.
Insergance is also pretty good for a darker story line and, in hard mode, battles become pretty tough. Also, new megas and mechanics!
basically make the first gym a dragon gym with overleveled pokemon
Gen 4 was my first. Diamond, 10 years old. Jeez, the Elite Four was hard. When I was finally able to make it to the champion for the first time (after several attempts), Cynthia being champion was the most mind-blowing moment of my life. Literally. However, I lost almost instantly, due to my Pokemon having barely any PP. It took dozens of tries, but I eventually came out on top, a feeling I will never forget.
I love Gen 4.
Gen 4 was my first also.I was 7 when I got it.I thought just because your pokemon were really high levels and they had strong moves that they were better.I learned the hard way
STOP YOU ARE MAKING ME FEEL OLD. I was 8 when I played the original Red Blue and Yellow.
Gen 4, by far the best, hardest, best plotted charters, best legendaries, and best champion.
Incbyte
Best plot? Not dp. Arguably just better than gsc or rby. DP had too many flaws.
Platinum on the other hand is my all time favorite game. It literally blows your mind if you thought that the ending will be the same, oh NOO cyrus already knew that the lake trio can balance one of the legendaries but not both....
Gen 4 is real...!
In Kalos, you wreck the Champion
In Sinnoh, the Champion wrecks you
And in Unova, the Champion came pre-wrecked.
I'm gonna be honest here, the first time I went against Diantha, the only fact that I won is because I spamed Yveltal's Oblivion Wing attack on her three last pokemon and Yveltal was my last pokemon, on it's last legs, with nothing to revive any other of my pokemons.
No the sinnoh Champion fucks you
I recently finished pokemon x can confirm
Swept Kalos champion with 1 Pangoro bulk up. Got wrecked by Cynthia 100* over. Massive champion diff
Spiritomb: the soul eater monster
Gastrodon: the wretched slug with only one weakness
Roserade: the terrorist who use explosive seeds as a bomb
Lucario: the cold hearted fighter with an unusual way to bring down it’s rivals
Milotic: the beautiful and deadly siren from the depths with an astounding resistance
Garchomp: the psychopath butcher who enjoy torture sessions
Spiritomb , Roserade , Lucario , Garchomp , Milotic , Togekiss...
Game freak , WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING AT ?!
Gen 4 in GENeral was pretty brutal(In comparison to the other games), I mean, all of it's games were pretty hard to nuzlocke, and Gen 5 followed in suit, although it was a little bit easier
They did "You gonna have a bad time" before Sans even existed... Why? Cause Gamefreak thats why.
Gastrodon
Ninjabroman9 In platinum Gastrodon becomes Togekiss
The games allow you to be overpowered by the time you reach the E4. Imagine having to face the E4 on equal terms? Meaning everyone fights each other with Pokemon set at either level 50 or 100. Fighting Cynthia on equal terms might be one of the hardest challenges the games have to offer. Her Pokemon have perfect EVs and natures. Garchomp, Spiritomb, Togekiss, Lucario and the others she uses throughout the series can all be freaking fearsome.
Well you can face Cynthia on equal terms in the World Tournament in B2/W2
Imagine if the ai was insane. It would be like playing showdown at that point
dude my levels were 10 below tf you talkin bout
Gold Silver & Crystal were a bit like that if you trained more than 3 Pokémon then you would have to grind to make sure you were at a capable level by the time you hit the Elite 4 if you just had the 3 then you could go through with no grinding and be on par with the trainers along the way.
Ben Hallett your supposed to have more than 3 pokemon lmao
Gamefreak be like: lets have a sexy, awesome and badass Champion

Happy 10 year anniversary!! Still one of fav bops to this day
everyone here bitching about Cynthia in gen 4
don't forget we have to face her with mega garchomp in the remakes
You probably have to wait until gen 8 for the Sinnoh remakes. Gen 4=Gen 2 remakes, Gen 6=Gen 3 remakes.
So you still have a good minimum of 4 years to wait.
+Dragon Garchomp but till gen 8 god knows what monstrous move / ability game freak will pull out of their ass that garchomp might have
+Ishaan Baath Mega garchomp is slower, though. can't believe how they ruined it.
Dragon Garchomp I don't use either of them. I'm just salty because I really don't like mega garchomp's design.
Everyone complaining about Garchomp
and i had trouble with her fucking Spiritomb.
Try every. Single. Pokemon. On. Her. Team.

I use a special wall to deal with it, it works.
+labrane hit Never helped with me, and even post-game, with a team full of non-legendary, lv.100, maxed-stat Pokémon, I still lost every other try.
That's unlucky 😂 I always manage to best her even if I'm 10 lv under her
+labrane hit Must not be challenging yourself very much. That, and I was so young that I didn't give a fuck about typing.
Player: I'm over powered, no one will beat me!
Cynthia: *Well, yes but actually no.*
Fun fact: All of cynthias pokemon have perfect IVS
In the remake.
Holy shit I just realised... Imagine a 7th gen remake of DPPt where Cynthia has a Mega Garchomp... She was bad enough in the originals...
Sylvia Bailey and a z-move
Sinnlos LP II Inaktiv Welp. We're fucked.
And who said the new games are getting easy.
Sylvia Bailey She has mega Garchomp in Sun/Moon. It's like staring into the face of death
I think its a very likely possibility. third gen had 1st gen remake, fourth gen had 2nd gen remake, fifth was weird and had a squeal, and sixth had 3rd gen remake. So based off of how things are going I'd say seventh gen with 4th gen remake will probably happen. I'd expect an announcement for it about 1/1.5 years from now
Sylvia Bailey or a extremely nerfed team cuz gamefreak love that shit
Who here felt the true meaning of pain in the B&W2 fight with Cynthia?
Eh, I had a harder time with Lance.
I came in with hella ice pokemon, still raped me
I had a level 100 mewtwo, and still had difficulty due to that freaking SPIRITOMB!
Cynthia and Red are impossible for me yes
Cynthia would have to be the hardest champion I fought in Pokemon. Never played HGSS so I don't know Lance...
This. is. so. TIGHT.
O shit I didn't expect to see you here 👀

Honestly, Sinnoh deserves a remake. With her Lucario or Garchomp as Mega. Oh my god, how amazingly powerful she will be lol
If my predictions are correct, we should get very beautiful Diamond and Pearl remakes a few years after Sun and Moon!
Probably in 2018. Though, Gamefreak has been straying the path lately. Nah, I'll leave the theories to Lockstin.
according to Lockstin, i think 2017 :] 2018 is also likely

@@karatehh6966 and if the player is male it isn't so whats your'e point?🤣 and the player being female doesn't count for the lore

I can just imagine these 5 year olds saying now "Cynthia? Isn't that the woman from the Battle Tree in sun and moon?"
LuggyBro, darn you young whippersnappers, when I was your age, we had no access to powerful Pokémon like garchomp and solgaleo, we only had torterra. Torterra, and a hell ton of patience.
So yeah, I agree with you, Luggybro
Marcus Hunter aka BlueRabbit yep
Dude, any five year old that can get to Cynthia past all of those hax isn't a five year old you want to mess with. You literally can't get anywhere in the battle tree without competitive breeding, the thing is set up so that only perfect 'mons can make it through, and even then the Pokemon in there are all chosen to counter your team, and they also have some scary good AI as well as counter moves (not to mention perfect stats). If a five year old can go through that and make it to Cynthia, that five year old is more of a fucking badass than we ever were as children.
I tend to agree with both of you
That hype for DPP's remake ( but she will not be as hard as we fought her in Platinum :c )
Isn't it impossible to beat bertha with electric attacks?
Football World Exactly. I ended up beating her using only Rock Smash.
Amanda Melin What?....
WHAT??!!
Football World Yup. Sheer determination right there.
Amanda Melin just rock smash... how old were you?
Battle synopsis (imagine it high quality anime action animated):
0:00 - 0:24 Shows Cynthia as a young impoverish child enduring hardships from her family.
Lucas's strongest pokemon should be a houndoom or a luxray.... ( fierce and aggressive)
But both are weak against Garchopm...😞😞😞😞
To put into perspective, her garchomp could be palkia, dialga, AND giratina at level. So not even being a bitch and using legendaries could save you from this fight. Although it would help.

eduvbs it should’ve given itself health lol
This was by far the hardest and most intimidating Elite four/Champion that I've faced in my childhood and it was.... Brutal, yet awesome and trilling. Truly why I love Gen 4 so much
Ya think?
Cindy Bean If you mean Cynthia's team was intimidating then yeah, I was scared to death when i battle her for the first time. But felt unbeatable when my lv. 100 empolean trashed the team and left the rest to Palkia, ah good times. Gen 4 is MY gen 1 (literally it was my first pokemon game)
I don't see a better fight than this. Number 1 for me in terms of difficulty.
At the time of the original Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, the Fairy type didn’t exist!
This Girl really is something... I never fought her as the CHAMP (!) but I came across her in Black and White. Until that Point I never even heard of her or seen her. I literally thought she was a random Person who would... I donno, gimme an item... And then shit went south faster than birds fleeing from the winter... I got my ass handed so hard that I didn't even know what the fuck just happened... I just sat there, surprised and laughed like a fucking' maniac XDDD
+Lilith Scure yeah that's how I learned to always have aerial ace or some kind of move that never misses...
I was like: Spiritomb? Thats a lil' bit harsh...
*Garchomp appears* And to Quote a comment: "Bruh... You really wanna screw me THAT bad?"
+LetsAMP Yes, yes they do.
In Diamond, her team is all lv60+, and yours, most often, is mid-50s. Now, I got really lucky after 38 tries:
My lv.58 Infernape vs.
Ryan Snowberger You lucky punk.
The Great Doomsplay1O5 I think I used up my family's luck for about a week.

Platinum is not a remake.
The third releases aren't remakes.
They are what you call regional revisions.

HeartGold and SoulSilver are both Pokemon Crystal remakes.
THOSE are remakes.
