The late Grand master Presas is the teacher of Johan Skalberg, a Swedish, founder of Kali Sikaran Intl. A very sought after seminar instructor and coach. He's teaching tactical units, professional athletes, instructors and corporations all over the world. So very proud of you guys esp.the non Filipino who appreciated our arts, the FMA, and introduce them to the world. Kudos👍👍👍👏👌👌👏👏👏
Skill in any kind of an artform is very impressive, but also, just as equally important is one's inner & outer character. Even more important than both of these two attributes, is keeping one' lineage & historical facts, and martial arts background in proper alignment as well. As Grandmaster Robert Castro so eloquently states in his interview; quote: "If you're not a good person, how are you going to teach somebody to be good, you can't, there is no way, unless you're a liar, a hell of a good liar, a good con artist" unquote. Bottomline is, this person in the interview learned 95% of his 'Cabales Serrada Escrima' curriculum from his first FMA mentor; Grandmaster Sifu/Guru Anthony Davis, as far back as 1983, in San Francisco, California. GM Castro's, limited exposure with the legendary Serrada Escrima founder, Great Grandmaster Guru Angel Cabales, came by way of FMA Grandmaster Guru Anthony Davis, as GM Davis was & still is, a private graduate instructor under GGM Guru Angel Cabales. Also, GM Davis, trained for approximately seven continuous years under the Great Grandmaster as well. Just Keeping the FMA archives straight. Filipino "Kali", (a.k.a. Eskrima, Arnis) has been an integral part of many JKD Concepts schools' curriculums for many years. I like Serrada the best of all Kali systems because it's focused on the tightest of all close quarters stickfighting, and realistically the stick that's 22 inches or shorter is easy to conceal, and the shorter sticks' techniques are easier to perform than the longer stick weapons' techniques are.
Weights, Checks & Balances; my name is Sifu A. Dozier, and I listened intentensively to the "ESKABO DAAN: Merging the arts of Inosanto, Cabales & Presas" interview. Due to the fact that the person being interviewed, GM Robert Castro, is an old contemporary FMA classmate of mine, I'd like to correct a few statements that he expressed within the contents of his interview. Firstly, GM Castro had no knowledge whatsoever of the existence of Filipino martial arts, til he was officially introduced directly to FMA, by one known as Master/Sifu Anthony Davis, in San Francisco CA., in 1983-84. GM Castro says he was introduced to the Filipino martial arts as far back as 1978-79, but I know for a fact that this is not true. By way of Master/Sifu Davis, GM Castro was introduced to the late Great Grandmaster Angel Cabales, by way of workshops that Master/Sifu Davis promoted over several years time. I know for a fact that GM Robert Castro did not train directly from GGM Angel Cabales either, as I've heard him say in several various other interviews that he has conducted. Like me! GM Castro was but one out of many students of Master/Sifu Davis & we both received our first FMA teachers degrees from Sifu at the sametime around 1985-86 in San Francisco, California. Master/Sifu Davis was the primary catalyst that brought GGM Angel Cabales more out into the public eye by way of merging his FMA association with GGM Angel Cabales' FMA association in 1984. I believe there is a group shot of this merger picture that is still in circulation today. Lastly, I'm very surprised that GM Castro does not remember the actual date that the "Father of Escrima in America" Angel Cabales, passed away, which was in 1991, not in 2001, as GM Castro exclaimed. These corrections were not made to discredit GM Robert Castro, but are made in order to correct misinformation, and to give credit where credit is truly due. Its awesome to see masters like this to create a full system of martial arts.

The "Truth" really hurts...
GM cabales passed in 1991.
I thought so.
Hmm...He didn't want to test his system with other grandmasters when the opportunity presented itself? Shame.
