    I been training in eskrima sense I was 9 I'm 42 still training and I have been passing it down to nephews and neices...and sharing the history on how this art was a blade art but blades were banned by the Spaniards in the Philippines so the filipinos trained in rhythm disguised as exercises in plain site...prepparing to rebel against the Spaniards to drive them out of the Philippines....they had muskets and we had sticks and still fukt them up!

      @jonboyd3772 yes I’m essence weapons are only extensions of our limbs…I’ll be honest with you I consider myself to be dangerous with a weapon… but I feel more deadly with my hands… I’m sure you feel the same way…

    • @ramslucas5140
      @ramslucas5140 Год назад

      @jonboyd3772 that’s not the point I was making… I’m saying that the empty hand is very capable it is less telegraphic and there is no need to equip it… it’s there and ready to do damage…. Sure I also trained in stick and daga ( dagger) but even then there is a moment of preparation… with your empty hand technique especially the vital and more lethal techniques which require a deadly approach it is more affective… for instance I could break your neck faster then you could stab me… in a sense… when your trying to stab someone they run then it’s into a cardio game when you fight hand to hand the threat comes to you along with the targets and that’s what you want… thus break your neck…

    Great video 👍 thank you for taking time to make it. When I first train for power I had a piece of wood shoulder level. One foot wide by 3 feet long. It's funny he said you have to learn to deal with the vibration, because I dropped the sticks thr first time I hit the wood 😊. It took a few tries before I got used to the vibrations but it's a life saving skill because when you're in the middle of it, you would not drop the sticks when you're blocking a strike. Or getting hit while on soft training without protective gear. 👏👏👏

    This is the ticket. I been beating my heavy oak cane on dead trees in the forest. There's old tires around. I tie cord armor around my cane which acts strengthening ablative armor and provides strategic grip and rasping strike points. I pull Constrictor knots tight with spikes to make them hard and set them in place. Now with tires tied to trees, I can practice with less damage to my cane and I. I had begun cutting Solidago to dry for tea, and also lashed them around dead trees as practice striking mats to absorb shocks. Tires make more sense, and last far longer. Righteous!

    The espada and dagger techniques can also come in handy with a tactical flashlight and the telescopic baton.

    2Sa_23:10 (KJV) He arose, and smote the Philistines
    until his hand was weary, [and his hand clave unto the sword:]
    and the LORD wrought a great victory that day;
    and the people returned after him only to spoil.
    first; Eleazar had Pop-eye like arms, with a powerful grip;
    second; Eleazar was a man of valor, that is he underwent
    navy seal like training...
    third; he fought a large group of men who were themselves armed,
    but he prevailed because of better over all training and he fought
    for the right reasons. In short he did a Bruce Lee like fight against

    In Arnis a Mano (learned thanks to 'Mano a Mano' run by the Lingasin family in Winnipeg) , there was more emphasis on BODY MOVEMENT. No opponent is going to stand there and let you strike them. /// eg: A very good training move: you step diagonally towards your opponent (the tires) and go into a very low crouch, right on your haunches, with left arm above you defending your head and delivering two massive strikes to the lower tire (knee height), using your torso, whole upper body & shoulder for huge power, first a forehand strike & an immediate backhand strike. The sound of those strikes in a Dojo is LOUD and you would NOT want to ever get hit with one. PS: they had bolted the 2 tires together with nuts, bolt & washers so they could be put away in the equipment room, and your training partner held it for you.

    In the add in this video, one is denying that a knife can not be disarmed and showing it the false way- How? He is trying to disarm a man who grip hard on the knife. One who anticipate that his knife will be taken will gripped hard and strong on it. That means his stabbing motion will become slow because of the tension on the arm of the knife holder. One who stab instinctively will only hold a knife strong enough. but still not tense so the stabbing motion could be fast; and this is where reality comes in, that when the disarming is quick the hand will give way. those who hold a knife not anticipating counter can let lost their knife from their hand when they are punch on the face or kick hard. That is why in prisons in the Philippines, during riots, inmates tie their improvised knife or pointed weapon on their palm so that even when they are hit hard on their face, head, body, or arm, and their hand will loose open because of it, the knife remains on their palm because it is tied on it and can grip again to use it. Commercialism makes people show some falsity just to obtain buyers of their demo. The person demonstrating here in this add should hold the knife on the grip part and forcibly open the palm that gripped the knife or strike the eyes. Knife disarming is not just a matter of twist but strike to other parts of the body. Even me, I can do it. I will hold the knife tightly and let anyone take it from my palm as shown in the add here; and I can assure you that it can hardly be taken fast.

    I am sorry sir. Hitting the tire is not old fashioned but already modern training. The old way is hitting tree trunks or coconut trunks, and even banana stalks- to whip with a stick or punch and kicked it. The banana stalk is preferable because it is not so hard; and it can be use to practice stabbing, slashing with a bolo or knife.

    Manny Pacquiao could have trained in FMA. His speed and his style have the semblance of the FMA.

    If I can beat someone with a tire, I don't need martial arts.

      Martial arts is an all time, all place, anywhere skill. A tire is not. Nobody carries a tire for self-defense. I love your sense of humor, though. Try it for real. You'll love it once you have the hung of it. Thank you.
