Can confirm from firsthand experience: no quicker way of learning disarm principles than to be personally locked up, twisted, turned, led around, and gently escorted into the ground by Kuya Doug 😆. Awesome summary!

@@SharpTalkPodcast I guess he said it with ignorant sarcasm. He doesn't understand the term demo or tutorial and expects everything to be the "real thing". I guess he thinks the same way about guys shooting stationary (cooperative)objects at firing ranges and doesn't understand that the moves you and kuya Doug showed teaches the discipline, instinct and muscle memory for when you need it in real situations.

    This is a nice introduction.
It's indeed a great principle to take an opportunistic approach and take the initiative rather than wait for an attack and hope that it's not a feint and you're predictions and timing are right... Plus, you're much better off when you keep your opponent busy...

Amazing and excellent. A particularly liked the lock-flow aspect of bare handed section, showns as if a byproduct. May be separating them into weaponless, one side qwith weapon and both sides with weapons could be more digestable for a learner of this really good martial art. Paul,69

one of the moves Connor does most of the time, is using his forward hand and "grab" the opponents hand.
imo, he will get the lead and advantage ovee the opponent

Stick, blade, empty hand, all related. Stick teaches, and sharpens the blade and empty hand, Doug definitely mentioned all three in the video

They never said that you should use it with someone fighting with you with a gun or flamethrower either. It's not the only self defense video to watch and know by heart. Different strokes for different folks.

@@grayrecluse7496 They never said that you will never get cut in a real fight. But those skills will get you a higher chance of coming out alive than just being out there and doesn't know what to do. Common sense will tell you not to do those step by step just to look good like they did but apply with what the situation offers you to do. Real fights are never supposed to look good but having some edge in technique could get you out less ugly. With the kind of mindset you have you're lucky you only got scars.

@@michaelgerman4802 Did you read, his reply back to me? He wrote,"this is real life", end quite. " You" put in a lot of thought and words to defend them. They should give you some of the money this post, makes but they won't. When (you) have some fighting scar's tell me know some of what works!!!🤡 He's some smart insite, don't get grabbed by someone bigger and stronger. Don't let your feet get entangled with each other, that happened got me fuxed up .. Heavy leather belts and buckle's work the best for m, I am old now, reach always keep's you safer. Go to your local bar or around here store where black folks hang out. Test yourself ,but I guess the 📲 or video game is where your toughness stops. ..
