I met Lamont Bentley once. I used to work with his mother and she would always talk about Lamont. She was so excited when he landed the role on Moesha. One time he picked her up after her work and that was when I met him. He was as friendly and high energy in person as he was on Moesha. I thought for sure he would be a big star, he was so talented and charismatic. What a loss! 😔
What a good memory you have of him. Nice. Sad he lost his life in a car wreck. Never know how big of a star he would have been.
What a lovely memory. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏾
I remember him from moesha and a commercial for a lawyer
That's sad he is gone. Great memorie Derek thanks for sharing
A close friend of mine died in a horrific car accident when we were still in high school. Sadly he wasn't wearing a seat belt and him and another schoolmate both died. The other passengers lived. But Joe immediately went right through the windshield killing him instantly. He was only 16 in January 1990. I still miss him soo much. Sad thing is, friends that was in the crash and lived told me they were on their way to my house to pick me up. Joe wanted them to.
So sorry 😞 🙏🏼❤️
I had a boyfriend who survived because he wasn't wearing a seat belt. The other 2 guys who he was friends with, had decided to kill themselves and crashed at over a hundred miles into a tree. Instant stop. He was ejected out through the back door of the station wagon The driver hit the steering wheel and the other guy had the engine on top of him. He was seriously injured though. His back was broken in 3 places and he had a skull fracture.
It should have been you not Joe huh
My father died in 72 after hitting A telephone pole,he hit the windshield. Rip dad
I am soo very sorry about your friend. I understand you been holding this in your heart as I lost friends along my path. As I live my life, I remember the day and hour and the reasons thereof. I know this affected you personally due to circumstances yet at the end of the day, our Lord gave us free will to make choices 🙏🏾. If you were the last thing on their minds on the way, should tell you how important you are to them. ❤❤I pray for your healing and I'm sure you gotta nice squad lookin after you. Gone yet never forgotten as they are still alive in my heart always. Our Lord's promise is to be united again. Never lose sight in that as it is helping me heal. You take care.
I hear that if your body is sleep deprived, you can actually feel just fine, wide awake, however your body can just nod off with no warning sign.
It happened to me after working 8 hours and driving a 14 hrs drive right after I got off. Luckily I pulled into a parking lot to take a quick nap because I was swerving.
Yes it happens to a lot of drivers
That sounds about right.
As a bus driver I can concur. It’s scary cuz it happens outta of no where. I’ve heard straight roads and over focusing on black road/white lines play a role.
Yes that happens.
This reminded me of another Moesha actor, Merlin Santana. So sad. May they both RIP.
Merlin wasn’t on Moesha. He was in the Cosby Show as a kid and later on, The Steve Harvey Show.
Yvette Wilson passed away too. She played Andelle. May she RIP.
@@Cateutopia Yes. So young. So sad. Continue to RIP Yvette 💔
@@natlovesfashion27 He had guest appearances, but I get it👌🏾
@@natlovesfashion27 He played Ohagi, one of Moesha's love interests in the first season and some guest appearances later on in the series.
As it’s said, tomorrow is never promised 💔
Tomorrow is never promised but don't mess up today. Create your own fate.
I saw a young man commit the "S" word by walking into the freeway. It was horrific. I immediately calledd 9-1-1. I remember it as being broad daylight but it was late at night...that is how my brain remembers it. There was light from the lights on the freeway. Four to six cars ran him over and only two pulled over and stopped to wait for police. We didn't judge them because it was nighttime and they could have easily thought it was an animal. It was very shocking for me and took me close to a year to come to terms with what I had seen. My sadness for this young man was off the charts. I sat and prayed for him until they had taken him away. He was someone's son.
Anyway, good video Lamont. I am so proud of you. When I first started watching you, your channel had under 10,000 subscribers! How far you have come! 😽😽😻😻💗💗
I am so sorry you saw that. I worked for the Medical Examiner and you never forget it. Thank you for staying with and praying for that man. He must have been in tremendous pain to make that choice and I hope he felt your kindness. ❤
@@randocalrissian347 Thank you for such kind sentiments, Rando. Yes, I'll never forget it though my brain does remember it as "fuzzy". Think of an animal that has been run over multiple times on the road and the human body is no different. I did find a small article in the paper the next day. He was 26, homeless and from Oregon. He had come across country to possibly live with relatives but they said no to that. I believe he also had a mental illness. It took over 4 hrs for the police and coroner's office to do what they do.
Your kindness in saying that you hoped he felt my prayers was so touching to me. Thank you ❤I hope he did, too. Maybe that is why I was there at that time. As a mother, I felt I needed to be there to pray and just maybe, he would hear them. I hope you are doing well after such a stressful job.
Never pull over to wait for 5.0
@@fumblebunny1993Our brains block out traumatic events on purpose, or makes things harder to remember. I take it more as a blessing over anything. You’re a kind soul for being kind enough to sit and wait. Not many people do things like that. ♥️
Is it actually against RUclips policy to say suicide?
Can you imagine the fear and pain of those 4 drivers whose cars ran over him?? PTSD for sure
I don’t think so, its like hitting a speed bump
One of my favorite actors
that left us way too soon.
R.I.P. Lamont Bentley.
Lamont was also on this show called “South Central” with Lorenzo Tate, also by the creators of Moesha RIP To him
I went to junior high with Lorenz Tate (818)
My bad Lorenz Tate
@@mckenzie390 that’s awesome, been a fan of him since Menace
Mr Lamont Bentley so talented and so young Rest In Peace
What a horrific way to die
May his soul continue to rest in peace
As soon as i see his name i press on the video so fast, him and romeo from the steve show was my favorite in the 90s
Romeo was such a senseless death. May they both RIP
Romeo was played by Merlin Santana if I remember correctly. The way his mom talks about him, she said she knew he was magic that's why she named him Merlin.
That's a different dude from the Steve Harvey show
@@andymathis6576 yeah, that's who we're talking about. Not the dude Lamont covered in this video, the dude ministryoflight was referring to.
I pray he is at peace. Horrible way to have to leave this world. 🥺🙏
You don't need to pray he's been dead for nearly 20 years already if someone dies today or yesterday you need to pray for the dead once they are gone that's it
@@AntonioCunningham-jr2ojhuh? Your comment does not make any sense!
I remember him as playing “Crazy K” from the Tales from the Hood, with a few other late greats like Clarence Williams lll and Rosalind Cash. My favorite horror movie actually. RIP to them all! 😭🖤
It's possible Lamont was driving fast, and lost control of his vehicle because of the brake failure. It was a horrific way for him to die, I can only imagine his fear that night. Most likely he could've survived the accident if he had worn seatbelts. RIP Lamont, you're never forgotten. 😞🌹
RIP 🪦 😢! I believe Artemis died instantly because he was run over repeatedly. There’s no way he could have survived that!
I did too ASAP 😢
Lamont just said that his body was ejected from the car, landed in the highway and was ran over multiple times.
Whaaaat? Dam dawg... That's real tough 😢
@@nowintroducinghertome sadly he wasn't wearing a seat belt when he crashed into the fence.🥺
U don't know much the human body can survive massive amounts of trauma especially when drunk
Hi Lamont from Austin Texas!! Love your channel!! 🎉🎉🎉
Lamont recognize Lamont 👌🏿
He was born the same day as my sister. I got chills when you said his DOB Lamont. Sadly, she too died way too young 😢 RIP ❤
💔😪🙏
The guy might have fallen asleep at the wheel.
I think he was distracted and hadnt noticed he was on the exit and overcorrected and overreacted when he realized his mistake.
If he was travelling at that rate of speed, he couldn't have been sleeping. But something definitely happened to make the car lose control. My first thoughts, assuming he was familiar with the road he was travelling on, were that he may have swerved to avoid hitting someone or something that came up on him quickly. So sad to see this happen to a fellow GenX-er
That’s so sad he was an amazing actor I watched moesha RIP Lamont Bentley much love always ❤❤
Lamont Bentlet was a amazing actor , but at the end of
the day I hope he knows God.🙏🏿
RIP to this highly accomplished young man named Mr. Lamont Bently. We never know when 'that" day will come for any of us.
TRUE! One day you're here and the next day not.
So so sad , we would watch him here in England he was a promising actor 😢
I think its highly likely that he fell asleep momentarily. 1 or 2 seconds is all it takes to crash. RIP Lamont
I think he was messing with the radio and hadnt realized he was on the exit and overreacted.
100 mph?....S word.
I know him from tails from the hood😊 But I didn't know that he had passed away!!! So very sad 😔 may he rest in peace 🕊🤍🕊 🙏prayers for his family and friends!! Thank-you Lamont for sharing this with us ❤✌️💯
@@LisaMartini-px7mc Thank-you I hate when I do missed spelled words 🤬
I just said that! My favorite horror movie actually. And it’s *tales and *misspelled btw, not to be rude.
@@britbrat1127 Thank-you 😊✌️💯
Thanks for sharing this story, Lamont.
RIP 🪦 🕊️
I had a friend whose brother stopped his car in the freeway, got out & stepped in front of a semi. Ironically I broke my leg & was taken to the hospital by ambulance and during the ride I was talking with the EMT and ask d what worse incident he experienced and he proceeded to tell me about that same accident (obviously not knowing I new the person) and said they had to gather him up in pieces 😢
Yikes!! That is very strange, sorry about your friend 😞
R.I.P. homie. The most underrated actor of all time.
You're about two minutes away from Spahn Ranch were the Manson Family hung out.
And just a little further from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. In fact the Route 118 freeway is called the Ronald Reagan Freeway. By the way the locals pronounce the Simi Valley as ‘see me’. There used to be a chamber of commerce type sign by the old pre-freeway road that read “See You In Simi”.
Ohhhhh really? Omg 😱 I wonder if any of the other ones still go there? 😊😮
@@annettepurtle3757 I've hiked in the area. Nothing left of the ranch but a few pipes and pieces of metal, but the cave they posed under is there, and a longer hike up the hill will land you where some stolen cars are from back in the day.
This is sad thank you for sharing this story Lamont R.I.P Lamont Bentley my condolences to your family
Tragic ending, beautiful cemetery, thank you Lamont!
20 yrs is a long time. I heard about it so sad.
Used to live there. Rest in paradise Mr. Bentley
Thats so sad, speeding is very bad. Obey the speed limit people! Theres a reason for that
what will happen when cars do fly, what's the speed limit there, people will crash in mid-air, then what,.....marius(punk rules)....that's why America should follow the old sci-fi movies and built underground trains,......
I don’t believe that he was on anything but maybe he was just a person that loved driving really fast.
Speed kills,😢
@mariusbabii flying cars will never happen because the world will end before it happens because of the shitty generation of people trying to cancel it
SO true. Drive the speed limit and focus on driving.
Strange I was just thinking about that poor guy yesterday
He was on the “Parker’s “ too
i lived in usa from 1990 to 1997 so used to watch all these shows..never knew he died rip
life is too short may he RIP 🙏
Lamont Bentley had a senseless death he was a great actor on Moesha loved the TV show with him on it he made me laugh on show miss Lamont always
Aww I always knew it was a car accident but to see it and get more detail. Man RIP Lamont!! Do Santana from the Steve Harvey show
yes, the drummer from Linyrd Skynyrd.
Also Named Artimus
Why did he lose control of his car? He must of been falling asleep at the wheel 🛞 so sad he was so famous and handsome 😮RIP Lamont 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is so bad. Everyone be careful on the roads
Ain't that the truth.
Such a shame he did not have on a seatbelt, could have possibly saved his life.RIP
id hate to dissappoint you but seatbelts DO NOT make you indestructable in an accident, they may "assist" you but will not make you bulletproof especially at such a dangerous, foolish speed like that. fact.
@@quagini69I have to agree! People have died wearing seatbelts as well!
Lady Di. No seat belt
Bill Simeon ( 60 minutes) no seat belt
Sam Kinison No seatbelt
@@quagini69
Seatbelt saves a lot of lives...with the belt he would not have fly out the vehicle to get run over

La times said he was thrown from the car onto the freeway at at least 5 vehicles hit him.
I heard a couple of different stories about this guy thanks Lamont for giving us the real deal ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
Wow! This is tragic, saddening story of his death. I didn’t know he had passed, I remember him from the movie The Wash, with Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre, may his soul rest in paradise! 🤍
So sad this happened to an up and coming actor. It's possible he mis judged his speed and over corrected the turn. So sad for his family rest in peace.

Poor man. RIP. Weird but saw a pigeon get run over today, traumatised can’t imagine how those poor drivers felt.

Either way may his memory live on.. thanks 4 sharing i never watched that show nor ever heard of him b4.
Rip Lamont Bentley 😢
If I'm not mistaken, I don't think the off-ramp for the westbound side was built yet. The fence used to go all the way to walking paths.
My son's best friend's mom died of a heart attack, at age 42 (the boys were 16 at the time). Less than a year later, his dad went out and sat on a 4 lane highway, at night. The first two car's missed him, the third one didn't. One never know's what is going on in the mind of another. RIP Connie, Feller, and Lamont Bentley.

Lamont, you can see where they had to refill in the concrete wall, right under the chain link fence. When his car hit that wall, it knocked out the corner piece of it. And they have filled it back in. You can tell by how the corner edge is lighter than the rest of the wall.
Thats moisture and can be seen at the top ofnthe entire wall and curb for that matter. The obvious gray section is painted over graffiti. This could have looked entirely different back then.
Thanks Lamonte. So sad for Artimus to die so young
So sad to hear he passed like this . He was a great actor , he went from playing the happy go lucky neighbor on Moesha to a psychopath on Tales From The Hood.
Lamont Bentley was one of my favorites. May his soul rest in peace
