I absolutely agree with you about the rain, the photogenic, the little walking man at crossroads, the food, and the patience of the drivers (of course not comparing to Canada or the USA... no comment on Austria lol... but I do find Polish drivers are exceptionally patient). Thank you for coming to visit Taipei, my hometown, and Taipei 101. The magic always awaits you at the corner. I am just glad it hasn’t gone too touristy yet other than a few spots. The city still had plenty to explore as I enjoy exploring and finding my ways by getting lost. #cometotaiwanagain Thanks, Joe!
I've just recently come across your channel and I'm enjoying these videos so much. It's very different from my own videos and what I like to shoot, but it's super relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Keep it up, man!
Wow...where to start!? Awesome to see a bit of home through your eyes. The scene with the umbrella at 3:39, nailed it! You summed up Taipei when you said it’s a street photographer’s paradise, truly is. I’m ready to head back out and go shooting right now. -Taipei sends its best to you, Elly and Bonnie!
Cheers, Steve! Thanks for showing us around and for the great company along the way ☺️ Glad you spotted that umbrella shot; it was one of my favourites along with that plane flying through on Dihua street at 10:19 ✌️
Thank you! It’s funny how we actually spent most of the night talking about how it so often comes down to simply being out there in the thick of it all to try and get the shots - I’m so glad we stuck it out!
You're a smooth operator Joe, and as usual this video is packed with crazy awesome content, from intro to outro. I'm learning new lingo with that chill hop wet-down comment.
This was so nice to watch! Now I want to go back even more! It's also good to see it in the rain (which I know now you love) because it was super sunny when I went so it looks like a different city!
In touch with the streets, and this comes through with your images in waves, great shots Joe. Just love your easy going attitude to life in your vlogs, cheers & happy travels.
Rewatched this today & realized this was my introduction to you. Also, you’re the reason I switched over to Fuji after only a few months of being a photographer.
You've got some really good shots during the rain at night. Loved your vlog and your channel. So glad I discovered you. Keep it up and keep them coming!
@@joeallam : They turned out fantastic! Can't wait to see them on your Instagram. I cannot wait for you to be back in Japan. I've seen almost all of your Japan vlogs from 2016/17 till now and I must say this year's Japan vlogs were simply the best. Lastly, you made my decision to purchase either a Ricoh GRIII and Fuji X100F a lot harder. =D Enjoy and keep clicking/shooting. :))
Hello Joe and Elly, yes I know what you mean about the rain, it just adds so much more opportunities, the streets look brilliant, real life street photos love that, so all going well here, and roll on Sunday, take care you guys, and thanks for so much, I have taken on board as much as I can, all the best catch up soon.
Yeah, the rain is my secret weapon haha! So many people shy away and put their cameras away, but I’d rather keep shooting! Enjoy your trip, you must be getting very excited about it now!
Great video and agree with the rain. My highlight was a wet night in Osaka and photographing down a narrow street with lights reflecting from the road, steam coming from a local restaurant and through it all, a lady with an umbrella. I was transported into a Blade Runner world...
One of my favorite episode, especially the photos here -- they are look gorgeous. The rain really make a difference and something that will push me to get a WR camera upgrade form my current non-WR Fuji
Awesome video Joe! Good to see you back in a busy city. It also confirmed how bad I missed my X-H1 (sold it after reviewing it on my channel) that I ordered it back again with the crazy deal currently running in a kit with the 8-16mm and the grip. Looking forward to more content! Cheers! 🤘
Another great travel/photoblog, I get what you say about shooting in the rain, I liked your low angled shots and the reflected street lighting, looks like a very active and as you say, photogenic city. @ 7:28 I couldn’t help but notice in the background just how man scooters pulled away at the traffic lights, it like the start of GP race, crazy! 😆
Nice video man! Taipei looks good, I love your shot as always ;) and that is sooooo cute to see elly being a bit tipsy, particularly at the end of the video! lol
What a great video and like you’re self I have an obsession with the 101 building. We came back from dubai on Monday and whilst we loved going to the top of the Burj Khalifa 101 is in my heart . Shall be heading off there next year for 10 days and this video was superb, cheers and yes I’m from Watford lol
rain shots looked so good! Going to visit the in laws in Tainan in December. You should check out down there, the old capital. have a look at the night markets too, though they are hideously crowded..
Make a JA urban chrome showcase on RUclips. Ask the photog to send you the unedited and the edited so you can do a before after wipe, while making commentary on what you liked about the photo.
Great video as always! You should visit Denmark some day - we have a lot of rainy days 😄 Interested to see how your visual journey would turn out here 🙌
Your videos are so inspiring to travel and shoot. SOOO much that I booked my tickets to japan and I'm buying a fuji xe-3 this week. But im so unsure of what my first lens should be :( Im deciding between the 23mm f2 and the 35mm f2. what would you guys recommend? :D
For street photography like these, do you set your camera on full manual mode, shutter mode or aperture mode? I'm heading to Taiwan this April and would like to try out street photography! Your pictures are stunning and it inspires me!
I'm strongly considering either the xt3 or the xh2 (when it come out) your xh1 seems to be doing wonderfully in all types of lighting. Do you find it adequate for most situations? I'm also considering the a7iii and the z6, but because of lense cost and weight I'm leaning towards aspc.
Love your videos! Question for you and other viewers: I’m new to Fujifilm coming from Canon. I’m having so much trouble with Fuji RAW files on Lightroom and getting wormy artifacts. I’ve read about it in forums, downloaded Iridient software, turned sharpness down...nothing seems to fully solve the problem. Would love to use these presets Joe sells but I’m finding myself working in Capture One more. Would love your thoughts!
14:01 is stunning. The people silhouetted, the glow, the contrast. Magnificent.
I'm with HireAStudio on that comment! That shot is a real winner!

All night rain photos with Taipei tower as the background are so beautiful!

Holy cow ! Your photos at the end of the video, under the rain + the night !!!!!! Beautiful.....well done.
Thank you! It’s funny how we actually spent most of the night talking about how it so often comes down to simply being out there in the thick of it all to try and get the shots - I’m so glad we stuck it out!

Those last few shots in the rain, Wow!!!!
This was so nice to watch! Now I want to go back even more! It's also good to see it in the rain (which I know now you love) because it was super sunny when I went so it looks like a different city!

Thank you! I’m so happy with the shots at the end. Rain and night are both tricky scenarios on their own, but when combined it’s a whole other story!

i love this!! my parents are from taiwan and i spent this past summer there traveling and it's my favorite place to go!!
The rain makes the city look like a scene from blade runner. DOPE!
Weather looks good! Great photos

Awesome video, an idea for showcasing is put them in the stories and then save them as a highlight for a way to find other like minded photographers
My beautiful hometown!! very nice vlog😍
Taipei rain a lot, also because of it humidity it will make you sweat a lot

With great framing and perfect luts in this city i live.and i subscribed.
Lovely shots and video. Will you consider to produce the Urban Chrome presets for Capture One?
That shot at 14:10 is MONEY. Too bad it was raining, the views from Elephant Mountain are really worth it, and it's not too far to walk either.
welcome to taiwan!!
Very beautiful!
looks like a place I'd love to visit purely for exploring the streets
definitely makes me want to go to Taiwan!
Taiwan is very beautiful
