Kitchen Renovation | Skimming Walls & Trim

In this clip I wrap up the kitchen renovation project. I skim the lower half of the existing drywall, cut & install trim throughout, install the dishwasher and run a water line for the refrigerator ice maker.

That’s stuff you’re using to smooth out the walls... what is that called and can you apply it over paint?

It's drywall compound which everyone calls mud. Yes, it can be applied nicer painted walls. If your paint is semi gloss you may want to prime the walls because I've had it come off while sanding in the past. The primer helps it adhere to the walls better.
