Permissions, NOCs & Attestations in Pakistan I Sludge: The Cost of Regulations

Pakistan has become Permissionistan - a perm1ss1on economy. Multiple permissions are required from different government agencies which amount to an invisible tax on transactions. The cost of regulations has deteriorated the investment climate of the country.
PIDE is trying to highlight this issue through its Sludge Audit. Estimates suggest that this License Raj could cost as much as 40% of GDP.
