    I like my EHX Canyon except for 3 things. The dotted tempo has to be reset everytime its turned off or on, the knobs don't click into each setting as solid as other pedals, and everything it does becomes useless when it's on the looper setting. I have a Boss RC-500 looper, so the one on the Canyon is a joke. But for the functions it does, the modulations are incredible if that is your thing ( which I can see yours isn't, and mine is). I also have a Fender MIrror Image Delay which is ok as a backup, but limited in function. In the end, I think what I was after was something with killer modulations that I can control myself, and keep on a pedal board. I like this Boss pedal you got as well, I've used it before. When you are using Boss pedals do you use them as buffers as well, or do you get a buffer? Thanks for the entertainment.

      This is only my second Boss pedal and it’s in the loop so not sure. Yeah I did a whole video on the Canyon and it does crazy beautiful things but I just need delay 😜

      @@GearGasms I recently learned that all Boss pedals have a built in buffer that works regardless if the pedal is off or on. I learned that it is good to have a buffer in front, and after your chain. This makes a Boss tuner more desirable. I currently have an Ibanez tuner in my loop, ending with my Boss looper. I myself am new to the Buffer scenario. I've never used a real buffer to know the difference, but I don't have a noise problem either. Maybe because I've always had a Boss pedal of some sort in there, that I never knew the difference between buffer or no buffer.

      Then hopefully it’s in a good spot as it is last in the loop!

    Nice demo. I've been in the hunt for a digital delay and I think I'm going to get one of these. Real simple but does the job well and sounds like what I'd want from a digital delay.

    Nice guitar dude! Boss gear rocks man. Ill be honest, I was 15 in like 1990 and I bought a few Boss effect pedals with the money I stole from work. I got 3 or 4 of them and they were great! Problem is I always tried to find better ones. Now 100 years later, I am buying the old Boss stuff again cause it just plain kicks ass!

    The dd3T has secondary rhythm functions like a dotted 8th note and triplet function ! Read the manual.

    When I first decided to build a pedalboard I actually got about 8-9 used modded Boss pedals. Through time I've changed a few around taking a DD-5 off my board and adding a Donner Echo Square delay. It has way better reverse delay. And as the digital side it goes so well with the MXR Carbon copy next to it. With the Boss I have a tap switch to add. No tap on the Donner.

    • @GearGasms
      @GearGasms  Год назад

      This version has built in tap tempo. You have to hold the pedal for 2 seconds and then you can tap. I think that’s fairly new tho

    I've not found too much use for delay pedals unless I want to sound like The Edge :D I don't wanna do that very often.

    • @GearGasms
      @GearGasms  Год назад

      I mainly use it on high gain solos. I’m pretty terrible trying to be the Edge- that’s one reason I sold my looper

    I've had a DD6 since about 2011 and for the life of me I don't see/hear much difference. Clean or dirty they work very nicely with a volume pedal. Think Steve Howe.
    Nice demo. Few things are more annoying than watching one that amounts to an audition. It gave me some exploration fodder.
    Now I have to go and do some exploring on my delay.

    I used a Boss Delay like this because it made my sound bigger without having to use reverb. I discovered when I did my first live gigs at the age of thirteen back in 1987 that soundmen didn't like amp reverb. They had a good reading on their own room and you had to trust them. So I turned down the reverb and used just enough delay to make my sound fuller. It worked great. I don't mind amp reverb but I think it's better either in the studio or jamming at home.

      @@GearGasms It's one of the cheapest and easiest ways to get a big sound, to bust it out of the box. It's also a great way to make helicopter sounds and pretend you're David Gilmour.
