Thank you so much for the tutorial! Turns out you don't have to collect all of those tokens to get to a special stage. After completing the game once you can select one stage and keep grinding the same token until you get all the chaos emeralds! That was such a relief in all honesty :D

You will have 2 attempts at the Special Stage when you collect 2 tokens in the act. The more tokens you collect in an act, the more attempts you will have to get the Chaos Emerald in the Special Stage after completing that act. You pay 1 token for each attempt. Question. I'm new to SRB2 and was wondering if I collect an emblem in let's say Greenflower Act 2, would I go to the second special stage or can you only get 1 Chaos Emerald per Zone?
So, first of all, it's not an emblem, it's a token (full name: Chaos Emerald token). Emblem is a collectible to unlock new levels and secrets in the game. Second, how many tokens in a separate level (in an act, not in the whole zone), so many times you get to the special stage (according to how many emeralds you already have) (it always goes in order) (token = ticket to the special stage). For example: You already have 1 emerald after the end of Greenflower act 1 and the successful completion of the first special stage. Then in Greenflower act 2 you will get 2 tokens, so after completing the act you will go to the second special stage. When you complete it successfully, you will have one more token left and thanks to it you will immediately go to the third special stage and then to Greenflower act 3. But if you don't successfully complete the second special stage, then the last token will be used immediately as the second attempt for the second special stage and only then will you go to Greenflower act 3. In the current version of this game, when you already have all the Chaos Emeralds and get a token, that token is no longer a ticket, it just adds a bonus score. And that's all.
I added the hypersonic mod but it doesn't select it automatically when I start the game. Wont it not save my progress? Or is it fine to just enable it each time? I played this very long ago, they've added a lot to it. I thought I'd played enough if it, but here I am again 10-15 years later. Memory lane. This is the best sonic game.

I recommend: fly fast (by holding jump) (don't turn when flying fast), be careful and slow down (press or hold spin) when you don't have time to collect blue spheres, or in front of an obstacle, spin and connect your back line to attract things inside the circle, or with a red line to attract things nearby even outside the track, get bonuses from spinning around groups of blue spheres, don't crash into walls, especially not into obstacles, so that you don't lose speed completely even with 5 seconds, be good and help also through the secret parts of the level, fly into the green accelerators (big green arrows), after the case watch the tutorial video.

The "Egg Satellite" stage is one of the worst special stages that could have existed
I think, that Black Hole is even worse. But, I know, Black Hole isn't main, but it's a special stage.
