A guitarist I met in Mount Isa, Australia - a very dry region with average humidity but very high heat in summer - showed me his acoustic guitar that was hanging on the wall. He said that one day, while sittiing in his lounge, he heard a very loud bang as the back of the guitar cracked apart. After listening to his story, I kept a water-soaked piece of foam inside a toothbrush container inside my guitar case while I was living in the Outback and tropical regions.
