I feel like a proud mom watching you mastering your hair. Second day hair is usually best. The curls seem to get fuller from moisture in the air. It’s growing beautifully. 🥰
Your braid out looked great. Having 4c hair, I had to learn the hard way too that keeping my hair in a constant stretched state is best to avoid fairy knots. I even wash & air dry my hair in twists. Then re-twist. It has been a game changer. Love your videos!💛
Similar to me: I dry my hair in twists (or about 12 braids) in order to stretch it; then after it’s dry, I re-twist with a favorite gel etc to get the style I want. It’s a 2-step process, which means more work; however, it totally works for me in avoiding knots and tangles = keeping my hair always stretched, for the most part.
I love how you're nonchalant about your hair and your results. I'm always disappointed when it doesn't look like other youTubers or my desired expectations. Love your personality! Thank you for sharing.
I remember watching your first hair video after your big chop where you knew very little, and now, maybe a year later, you're practically a pro. So much growth in this video and I don't just mean your hair. ❤👏👏👏❤
Beautiful!!! Joy-el, as your hair grows longer, you’re learning what you have to do in order for it to thrive. Keep up the good work, and congratulations to you and your boo on your engagement!
i was doing my cousins hair the other day in braids and he’s a 4c type, i’m a 3b type and i really give it to anyone who has 4 type hair, it’s so beautiful lol but y’all have patience asf. especially if you’re an natural 4 type it’s a lot of work so i really give it to you guys.
1. You look so cute! 2. Another option for keeping your ends smooth is using end papers (optional) and a roller on your ends. 3. You can also roll the entire braid. It will stretch your hair even more. It is what I did after my big chop, and was mildly clueless as to what to do with my hair so I did what I knew.
The puff is the thing! 🏆🥇 It's my go to for easy maintenance and protective styling. Nice product combo! No gel is 😁👍🏽! I'm learning to be ok with my "curly" edges. 🤗❣
So glad I found this video everything is so simple & realistic. I’m definitely going to try twisting my hair at the ends. It seems a lot easier on the hair.
"I have been getting fairy knot up the hoo-ha" DEAD!!!🤣🤣🤣 like someone else mentioned in the comments, sometimes fairy knots means you need a trim. Otherwise, it's simply tangles and stretching like you do really helps. I am always amazed by people who can wash their hair loose and detangle on wet or damp hair. If I do that, even on a TWA length, it's a tangle-breakage fusion fest!
If u ever get tired of doing your hair try crochet braids.. I miss my natural hair and now I'm starting my natural hair journey over with crochet braids.. I love your hair so much..beautiful
You're a very pretty girl. You just gotta make videos that people are looking for. I am confident if you did that people will follow you too. Hair videos are a type of video people look for because it fits a specific niche. You can do the same thing, you're beautiful.
Fairy knots are indicators it's time for a trim. For our type 4 hair, it's best to blow dry it straight to ensure you don't miss anything. Outside of that, your hair looks sooo good!
I keep my hair stretch I have been trimming with a hair Sears every 3 months or so and the fairy knots keep coming back I hate it I'm seriously considering another big chop
@@empressafriko119 fairy knots will return after a bit. Due to washing, detangling, and over all manipulation of the hair, fairy knots are part of the deal. If you don't trim or cut out the fairy knots is when you will have issues
You would be so cute in passion twist please have your sister try ...also try rice water and making your own masks with just 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of honey, 6tablespoons of mayo, and any oils you prefer, cover your hair in a plastic shower cap for 30min rince hair with cold water
I thought the braid out turned out really good I really like it. Two strand twisting the ends is a method I'm going to try I have been battling with fairy knots myself for awhile myself. so much so I keep my hair in Senegalese twist 90% of the time.
First of all, I just subscribed yesterday and I am LOVING your channel! Your hair is beautiful and your realness is refreshing. I love the way your hair turned out! I think it looks beautiful in the braid out. I think it’s all in how you envisioned it coming out. I don’t know what you were looking for, but I know that it came out gorgeous in my eyes.
I liked your hair before the puff :) the puff is cute too.The black owned products that I’m loving are naturalleClub, belle barOrganics you really should look into, their concept is amazing, netergold it’s a company I found on IG that hand makes and sells wooden combs and when I finally bought one I can’t live without it. It’s crazy the difference with detangling with a wooden verses a plastic comb. Kinkytresses is another brand, I love curlmix and my friend has great products called Curl Remedies she inspired me to put down the hot comb and extensions and embrace my hair.
Hey Joy-el...you have a FB pic dated September 3, 2018 you SLAAAAAYED that look. You wrote "hmmm, not sure how I feel about it". Your hair is longer now but please recreate that look. Similar to this look....curious what others think.
Products I like that could maybe work for you . Soultanicals Knot Sauce( gives me good slip in dry hair without water) Soultanicals Afrotastic Curl Elastic Deep Conditioner. Adwoa beauty leave in and curl defining cream. Also castor oil is my best friend for us thick type 4 hair girls. Love the video and your channel and what you’re bringing to this natural hair table .
And I see your curls trying to come through , can we finally get another attempt at a defined wash n go?! ☺ your hair is soo much longer now I'd love to see how it looks defined! 💜
Your braid out was fabulous! I totally loved it. Your hair is still growing super fast. I have the other Mielle line and I really like it. I'll have to try the other products you were using. Thanks for another great video.
I hope this doesn't come off as being offensive but you kinda look biracial but your hair seems almost identical to mine. My apology if that sounds ignorant. I'm just amazed really.
I feel like a proud mom watching you mastering your hair. Second day hair is usually best. The curls seem to get fuller from moisture in the air. It’s growing beautifully. 🥰
I actually liked the way the braid out came out. Looks good, but I know how it is when you want it perfect.
I agree! The definition plus shape was great.
She's got one of those hair textures that arnt really on the hair chart. Love it
49jubilee It really does....it's SO MAGICAL❣️ Plus, she's AWESOME😇

Devin L I tried washing in twists with my 4C but sometimes the twists get undone while washing. How big/small do you keep the twists?

Ahh am excited to see pictures of you in your wedding dress (if you show them) You're going to be a stunning bride!
I have 4c so that's definitely 4c
You don't see that often 💯💯

Not all type 4 is the same....type 4a is completely different than type 4c..even all type 4a hair isn't the same.
@@Liteskinblacknotmix3d okay, i know that thanks for wasting your time.
Well this is a Back handed compliment
Fairy Knots have been my biggest issue lately as well 😩
1. You look so cute!
2. Another option for keeping your ends smooth is using end papers (optional) and a roller on your ends.

I'm very proud of both my girls.
When you went to stretch the burn out your arms I felt that💪🏾😂🥰
The puff is the thing! 🏆🥇 It's my go to for easy maintenance and protective styling. Nice product combo! No gel is 😁👍🏽! I'm learning to be ok with my "curly" edges. 🤗❣
As usual, your hair is beautiful no matter the style you choose to wear it in.
I see a lot of growth...
The braid out was cute. You didn’t need to put it in puff, although that was cute too.
Very cute!
So glad I found this video everything is so simple & realistic. I’m definitely going to try twisting my hair at the ends. It seems a lot easier on the hair.

I love that you are trying new styles
The braid out came out nice. All you needed was a few Bobby pins to pick on side or maybe both sides .
If u ever get tired of doing your hair try crochet braids.. I miss my natural hair and now I'm starting my natural hair journey over with crochet braids.. I love your hair so much..beautiful
BEAUTY = TIME. Your hair is beautiful! 🥰Struggle is REAL... I know.... ENUFF SAID
I dont have 4 hair type but she is soooo engaging i watch her shes AWESOME

I love how you embrace your hair 😍 IDK how I got here I thought this was a wig due to your complexion and eye color...I love it 👍🏾⭐
Your so hard on your self. Your twist/braids out are bomb ❤❤❤
Girl I’ve been loving braid outs lately! They are truly amazing for stretching hair!!! 😊 Love your channel, content, and personality!!
You look amazing! But i think your hair looks better without headband
You would be so cute in passion twist please have your sister try ...also try rice water and making your own masks with just 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of honey, 6tablespoons of mayo, and any oils you prefer, cover your hair in a plastic shower cap for 30min rince hair with cold water
When I do twists outs, I also have that annoying part in the middle. But luckily I have my handy dandy Afro pick😆
I thought the braid out turned out really good I really like it. Two strand twisting the ends is a method I'm going to try I have been battling with fairy knots myself for awhile myself. so much so I keep my hair in Senegalese twist 90% of the time.

Very nice and defined and shiny. It looks really good
Also try finger tangle too it helps with breakage and curl definition
I think your braid out came out cute:)💜
I started tripping out when I realized you were wearing the same shirt I'm wearing right now. Beautiful results btw! I'm loving these uploads
Have tried the Soultanicals hair products? I love the Knot Sauce leave-in and the Mango Slip moisturizer. You should try it if you haven't.
I have watched u for a bit...you are evolving ...more and more becoming more like ...yourself.
I finally found my hair twin! 😍
Love the braid size/tightness tips.
This twist out came out great!
I love this !!! Beautiful results.

Nice results. My hair looks like this, but not as thick.

I know you already know but goodness you have A LOT of hair. Looked good to me but I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
You, your eyes, and your hair are so beautiful~
Have you tried the rubberband hair stretching method? It helps prevent the hair from shrinking as it dries.
And I see your curls trying to come through , can we finally get another attempt at a defined wash n go?! ☺ your hair is soo much longer now I'd love to see how it looks defined! 💜
Those arm stretches at 2:54 is me right there. Lol. Full arm workout! Love your hair 😍
your hair has grown so much
Your hair is so pretty🥺 I’m so jealous!
It’s so cute! I’m gonna try this.
Your braid out was fabulous! I totally loved it. Your hair is still growing super fast. I have the other Mielle line and I really like it. I'll have to try the other products you were using. Thanks for another great video.

Your hairline is so full....nice. Your twist out looked nice down
I can't believe I'm sitting here watching all your videos. lol. New subbie here.
So beautifully thick 😍
I am rolling at you walking and stretching your arms after sectioning the hair off 😂 😂 I know how you feel.
Your hair is beautiful. Does it naturally grow fast? If not, what do you things do you recommend to help?
Hey Joy-el, love your channel and video quality. What camera and lens are you using?
You are beautiful inside and outside 😘
🤣😂🤣 the arm-stretch 🤣😂 story of my life 😫
Your hair would also look beautiful in two strand twists.
For fairy knots, you may have to get it trim.
the closet to straight your hair is, the less single strand knots 😭 your hair has a lesser chance of curling around itself!
I love this!💕 I need that snappee band thingy!! Where does one find that?! Also your eyes are beautiful!
You can buy it on their website here :) Use my code JoyelCoupon15 for 15% off your order too!

Have u ever tried rolling the ends after ur braid out,?
Dry end and fairy knots are indications you may need a trim at this time.
Great video!
I love it♥️😍
Not fairynots Up tHe HoO-Haaa 🤣🤣😭
Love it.💖
Looks so thick
I love my afro/wash-n-go as well but the tangles are not worth it once you get to a certain length.
looking great
What Bonnet do you use because I can’t find a big enough one
Your hair is thick
I like.
