  • I was looking at the ergo frame in CAD not USD.
It's $682 which I still think is a lot for an imported frame. IMO

Just another reason why I’m such a fan of Deskhaus and Chris. Showing competitors products, not even comparing with their own, simply to educate consumers on why things are a good deal or are not a good deal. They just do the right thing to educate people.

Yeah, no. Big no. This video was just one big advertisement for Deskhaus. Lots of misleading "info" here, a lot of garbage, nothing that really translates into the real world, according to reality. I found that with the "3D" laminate top from IMovr, which is a much better deal than the solid wood option, and carries a 10-year-longer warranty, a desk of 70+ inches is roughly $400 cheaper than an equivalent Sway - exactly the opposite of the imaginary scenario in this video. And as far as I can tell, the Lander is better in almost every way, too. In some ways objectively.
To be clear, that Lander price comes from the fact that IMovr offers a base 15%-off promo at all times (though there is usually a better promotion than that), where as the Ergonifis is rarely on sale, and the shipping to the US is roughly $180 more than the free shipping that IMovr offers. Therefore, even with the Sway on sale, it's still going to be almost $200 more expensive. Frankly, I can't imagine buying a Sway. I'm still weighing my options, but I eliminated the Sway quite a while ago - not a good value at all, and certainly a lot worse than the Lander.
This video from Chris is just trashing his competitors, and nothing else. It's the exact opposite of a reason to be a fan of his. That said, I'm still looking into the Deskhaus Vertex as a definite option for me, because the sad thing is that if I chose not to buy a desk from a company just because of this kind of bull, I wouldn't be able to buy a US-made desk at all. Because it's hardly unique; this kind of dishonest advertising is pretty standard in his industry - it's the same crap that BTOD, IMovr, and XDesk pull with their highly-biased reviews of everyone else's products. You've got to piece together the truth for yourself - you will not get it from this guy or from any of these childish companies.

@@Ahjile the laminate top from IMovr is not equivalent to the sway desk because its SOLID WOOD its like saying plastic is equivalent to stainless steel and as for the shipping you dont pay tax on the sway desk because its from canada so it makes up for the shipping and as for they arent on sale very often thats not true either ive seen them on sale twice just this year and the 72 by 30 walnut desk was like 2165 I think the other wood types were cheaper I wouldnt not include them if you dont know what your talking about you will be the one missing out

One thing I really like about deskhaus is you show the pros and cons of products. I've seen your Reddit posts and you even gave advice to other manufacturers on how to protect corners, etc.

Great video as always. Super off topic but trust your opinion on anything furniture. Any companies you like for bedroom furniture (Dressers, bed frame, etc) and sofas? Not insane prices but also not talking ikea prices.

Their margins are insane. But they import 100s of containers of the same product. Put them in big warehouses and then on the showroom floors. So net margin is way less.
Lots of stuff comes out of Vietnam. I got some pricing on items a couple years ago when I was curious. Some that cost $39 to buy over there. Was on crate and barrel for $800. I thought it was funny because it was marketed as high end.
For furniture like that I always think it’s better to spend more money and get US made stuff.

I wish Ergonofis offered standalone tops. The finish on the wood is really nice and I'd love to pair it with a better frame.

Getting the Alive desk with its heavier top would for sure increase instability. Didn't even think of that! Awesome review

Ill take anyones input on this. Im planning to get a standing desk for WFM and general use. Im in between the Ergonofis Sway and Uplift V2 both in 30x60. With the commercial set up in the uplift and desk top I want it comes out to about 700 dollars cheaper than the Sway. Is the 700 price increase really worth it? Or should I consider other desks?

i appreciate this review, but i dont think it's necessarily fair to ergonofis when discussing stability when saying that the max height for someone seeking a stable desk caps at 5'8". Im one inch shorter than you, and i found the desk when lowered to the height you lowered the sway worked perfectly fine for someone my height and seemed quite stable.

What would be a comparable Deskhaus top to the Ergonofis? Like the color and look of the Ergonofis in the video.

You should try to get Linus Tech Tips to consider using their labs to do stability comparisons on desks. They did a very short review of a desk on Short Circuit, and it’s actually unfortunate they didn’t do the in depth review.

I want too. Worried about potential spike in orders. Even if .2% was the views conversion rate. It would be way to many orders to handle atm

@@Deskhaus I figured that might be the case (too much exposure). You could express your concern and work with them on that. Like have the video come out at a later date when you have logistics figured out. They would need to figure out a testing rig anyway. You could limit orders and/or have them stock some frames in their warehouse. Might good for Canadian orders since they are based from there. They also have a fairly sweet setup with shipping from Washington with US orders (although that might be more setup for their lighter parcels). I know Linus is also obsessed with good products. He spent 3 years designing a custom screwdriver. You guys have a similar passion for quality products.
