Not only did the guy create it but I think he’s demoing better than anyone else. Nice work!
He desineth, he playeth, he proveth they're the best in the game.
Oh wow, the creator is an excellent guitar player!
This explains everything why Strymon is so successful at delivering real sound quality along with capability. The designer is an extremely talented musician looking to create tools he envisions.
Pete is awesome but it was great to hear Dean in this video. Tools for musicians by musicians!
Home run again gentlemen congratulations 🫡
This is very cool but it mostly gets me excited about what the Timeline MX and the Mobius MX are going to be like.
Solid presentation. No filler or wasted space. Thanks!
Don,t watch dozens of EFX spotlights, but with Strymon, that changed after getting the Volante, leading edge, yet natural sounding, love their stuff
volante is 🤍
You guys KILLED it!!! Sounds AMAZING!!!
The true stereo is a gamechanger
yup !! will definitely get this !!!!
Awesome.... can't wait to try it out.
Make a multi effects pedal please.
Congrats everyone at Strymon. The current BS has been around a long while so I figured it would be getting an update sooner or later. But I currently have no real desire to replace my original BS as it's still great, but this is a worthy update and will no doubt get this MX one at some point in the future. Well described features demo too for a short video. I see there are deep-dives videos you released too, so the geeky among us can go explore the MX modes in depth! 👍
awe yeah!
Looking forward to making a lot of videos of this!
Very nice Dean Miller, great playing!!!
Amazing!
6:39 that’s something I’ve always struggled with using other reverbs outside of Strymon!! As far as I’m aware every other brand of reverb (and I’ve owned a lot) have refractions that resonate more or less depending on what notes are played. Making it an unbalanced sound.
Looks awesome. Please do a Deco MX next so we can add more repeats and control more modulation parameters.
They just made a v2. Doubtful they would already be planning a v3. That said, it would be interesting to see a Volante-size box with all of the "old" features on it, like a combo Deco and Flint. I would say somehow incorporate a Lex circuit (just the mod, not the drive) as well, but that would be one crowded circuit board. With how popular the Deco and Flint are, it would probably sell well. Call it the Encino or something, going with both the SoCal reference and the caveman (old) reference.
Im sure Timeline is next in line, but I’m hoping they give this large form treatment to Iridium too!
Speaking of which, I'm surprised they kept with this same box style, and didn't migrate to the new big box style like the Volante and NightSky? If a big box Iridium is ever made, hopefully it will be in the new-style box.
would be great
TimeLine is my favorite pedal ever, bought 10 years ago, still inspiring.
The MX seems much easier to understand and user friendly than the OG BigSky. The MX screen looks nice too
What’s time delay from analog in to analog out? Basically dsp delay to go thru pedal.
Is there any way that I can use the right switch to turn on the “C” sound, or does it work only as freeze fuction? On my old Big Sky I use all the three switches and it would be a shame to lose one. This one sounds incredible anyway.
Let’s gooooooo
The price is Big Sky also...
When are the Timeline MX and Mobius MX coming out?
Hopefully soon
Is there rate control for the modulation?
Thanks for this question and sorry for the late reply. There is not a dedicated modulation rate control, but rate is sometimes affected when turning up the Mod knob, depending on which reverb machine is selected. For instance, with the MX Shimmer voice, turning clockwise from minimum, depth increases up to about noon on the dial, then as you continue clockwise it starts turning up the rate and turning down the depth. Also several of the new MX voices use multiple modulation rates (each reflection modulating at a slightly different rate) so that a single rate is difficult to pick out, in the interest of a natural sound. Hope that helps!
@@strymon,
Thanks for your reply 🙏
I have a Cloudburst, but am considering buying the Big Sky MX if the Cloudburst sounds are in it. Could someone from Strymon tell me this?
An improved cloudburst algorithm is in it.
Were you guys cold when you shot this?
🥶🥶🥶
LOL, I saw Pete with the beanie and instantly figured he was tired of hearing yet another round of Breaking Bad jokes.
Aww shit
Please first Mobius I NEED HIM
Timeline is coming next this year as well?
We can't discuss upcoming releases, but stay tuned, we definitely have a few more things up our sleeve for this year!
@@strymon ...And I can't discuss upcoming purchases in this particular room at this particular time.
Catching up with my old Lexicon MX200 😂
@@strymon We will wait patiently then.
Would it be presumptuous of me to assume a new TimeLine is about to drop?
tbh, mobius would urgently need an overhaul, there is so much more potential in there. Especially in the vibe, chorus and pitch mod department strymon has some catch up to do
3:29 why is it so hard to get an answer from someone at Strymon on how many IR's the pedal can hold? No one seems to know and I've been asking support and on instagram and facebook etc.. Never no answer!
Is it in same size?
Different size - BigSky MX is 5” deep x 7” wide x 1.87” tall.
So smaller?@@strymon
@@boabglen Not quite. The original BigSky is 6.75" x 5.1", so MX is slightly wider but not as deep.
@@strymon I can live with that
IR only pedal when?
That's exactly what I want. There are only 2 choices out there right now, Tasty Chips which doesn't do MIDI and Poly Verbs which can only load 8 user IRs.
No matter what Walter White does or cooks, it's always blue... that's his true mark
Who could have foreseen guitar Walter White and autistic Taika Waititi would be so good at reverb? ❤
@@phillsmith5655 🤣🤣
I imagine there are 2 or 3 mafia hitmen pointing guns at them. That is how they talk.
Sounds awesome but expensive.
$679 retail. Time to save some shekels 😝
Did they really take away the C button.......I HATE switching banks on this thing
You still bank up the same way, it just has two patches selectable per bank. I like the change.
@@FakeGlasses but how many people actually asked for a dedicated freeze button??? Like I feel like that’s a slim minority. At least give us an options to change it back to a standard C button
@@M0M...midi needed anyway
@@boabglen my whole board is midi. I don’t want to add another bank
Display race is continued) Strymon pecked)))
Why didn't they call it "Sky High" ?
I'm sorry but, I've yet to hear a spring reverb software emulation that comes even close to a real spring reverb. They're all flawed somehow.
I HAVE THE BIG SKY AND ITS AWESOME🥵😱
suddenly my flint sounds a bit pedestrian
Have huge respect for all the work and diligence that certainly has gone into this. However this will not find its way into my studio. Reason is the myriad of options. In the end it requires a lot of „dead knowledge“ and time to drive this box up to its potential. Prefer investing that amount of time into the strings of each of my guitars.
Load the plugin 2 times and you have dual reverb 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
It's not a plugin?
I know but if you load the plugin 2 times you have dual reverb or do i see someting wrong @strymon
not hearing anything to challenge the Meris Mercury X but would need to experience it IRL...
No shit. Thanks for coming out.
Парни, с вами разориться можно 😂
When your reverb pedal cost more than your guitar and amp
Get another amp then. If you buy this and run it in mono, wtf is wrong with you???
Sounds great but way overpriced!
Overpriced to bits. Do these guys even know what today's economy is like? Not everyone is a lawyer or a doctor and those pedals probably cost peanuts to build. It's all digital
You think the knowledge and programming skill have no value, that it’s just the cost of the hardware? Then I suppose brain surgery and vegetable slicing are equally valuable because they can both be done with cheap tools? Maybe we aren’t the target demographic, that’s OK. They will sell a ton of these.
It’s a computer. It’s ADDA. It’s OLED. The I/O . The R&D. The quality. Just because something has digital chips doesn’t make it cheaper or less valuable.
@@RPMusicStudios then go spend 700$ on a pedal 🙂
@@NS-tc9kk ok sheep boomer 🙂
Dude there is no need to be a lawyer or doctor to be able to buy it , maybe you just have a shitty paying job
H90 is actually way better.
