It should be noted that in fallout new vegas you can track your companions, it’s a funny idea to think that the courier hid these little things on the companions

07:49 - the fight was a reference for you getting attacked by random raiders while trying to do something important

05:31 - In theory we could track objects since we track enemies to kill in a quest for example.

In a future episode we see a separate company at the table that was purchased in 2076 by Robco. My assumption is both the movie set scene and all pre-war scenes before the bomb take place somewhere between 2075- early 2076 because of this.

20:36 the opening on the helmet probably explain why it is so easy to explode it later in the show

The ghoul chemical stuff is weird, but after having some time to process it, I think I like the change. It’s interesting, and yeah, it’s a retcon, but whatever, any ongoing series is gonna have those by necessity.

I was surprised at how easily the crotch area of the suit came off when the scribes were asked to clean it so maybe they do stop sometimes but the way they asked them to clean it sounded as if it’s a common request so maybe they do stay inside and rely on the scribe for removal of the waste inside the suit

One thing I didn't get about the scene where Maximus talks to the Brotherhood: Why did he tell them he was dead? I don't see what he possibly had to gain from that. He was already pretending to be Titus, so he could have just said "Everything is fine, my squire and I are tracking the target." Seemed like a bit of a contrivance to get Thaddeus out there

I think it was an outgrowth of his desire to explain away his failure to follow procedure. He blurted out that they were attacked and that his squire had died. I doubt he was aware that the higher ups view squires as effectively disposable resources.

Oh, also! You do get the companion tracker on your pip boy in Fallout 4 but you have to use the Vault Overseer terminal you can place in settlements to get it. But there is precedent.

True, but this is the first time we see how that might work

@@IrresoluteCartographer Honestly I’m jealous, why does Lucy get quality of life stuff they couldn’t patch into 4 with the next gen patch, doesn’t seem fair lol

I think that difference between Head and Fawn is for purpose of showing how much time has passed between. Thaddeus "tracked Ghoul" via radiation, but in the end it didn't work, instead they just tracked most radiation in general area, and tracks in the sand (at one point Thadd tracks to different direction than Max took following tracks) ending up where Ghoul wasn't anymore 🤷

The gulper ate the head minutes after eating the deer, not much time difference there. I think the tracker was working as it led them to the satellite, and though they followed the tracks in the sand from there, they did reach a point where they were crossing grassy terrain that wouldn’t support such tracking. At that point they followed the tracker to the river. Once they reached the river, Thaddeus mistook the trail left by the gulper for the trail left by the Ghoul, and that’s how they ended up in the river.

@@IrresoluteCartographer Gulper took the head quicly after Fawn, that is for sure. Maybe he ate it later 🤷 (can't really say, maybe it was cause Lucy wrapped the head by that point into something as seen). I don't know about tracking Ghoul via rad (there across were buildungs and flood water, which are more irradiared, while everyone headed into that direction) all they had to do was go to other side of LAX and find two sets of tracks made by Lucy and Wilzig (Max knows Wilz has metal leg, he saw it in Filly), then they followed Lucy's tracks to where she entered when crossed the sand, to one obvious "road" she followed to "the river" (next to the bus) and Max and Thadd (amateurs like Lucy) did the same. Ghoul on the other hand, is a pro, he intercepted Lucy on different location in that general area, and while Max and Thadd were still following Lucy's tracks, Ghoul and Lucy already left the area to different direction, so if Thadd really tracked Ghoul (instead of just saying that as justification for his Knight's failure to kill the Ghoul), they would not end up in that river, instead, divert earlier. 🤷
Also for ep1: Vault Tec suits are anti rad product, only not nearly as good as advertised (will not help when nukes fall) thus when Coop asked, answer was "absolutely", but 219yrs later, suits will do with lower levels, thus 33 pip boys read nothing, considering they cleaned their faces and hair to "blend in" (Monty wasn't wearing it when Lucy read him), also why Lucy suffered significant rad poisoning only after submerged into and drank water.

Have you considered making a video on all the real world and ingame Native American info/history you've accumulated in Fallout 76?

I haven’t. It’s an interesting idea, but unfortunately there’s so little we know about the native peoples of the region prior to the arrival of Europeans. The natives in the area didn’t keep records, and most of their artifacts seem to have been bio degradable, aside from arrowheads and what we’ve found in the mound burial sites. Once you get to the 17th century on, the region appears to have been a hunting ground for a few tribes (the Iroquois, Shawnee and Cherokee) but it doesn’t seem to have been a place that they settled in large numbers, at least not that I’ve found. As for in game references, they’re few and far between.

@@IrresoluteCartographer That's a shame hopefully more will be discovered about the Indigenous cultures of the region as time goes on perhaps through artifacts like copper plaques/artwork and such.
