      You just articulated one of the most ethereal parts of our human existence. Thank you, I have never been able to explain it with such precision. Hopefully that intrinsically human condition will win out over the self aggrandizement found within social media. Empathy and selflessness have become insults in many of our subcultures.
      If we want real change in our society. That is where we should start. The rest are symptoms. To find the cure we need to treat the source of the infection. Treating the symptoms is a losing battle. Until you stop the source, you never know when the infection will get beyond control.

      Same exact phenomenon. It's the expansion or compression of the waves of light or sound that alters how we see and hear the objects. With sound waves it's a rising or lowering pitch depending on what direction it's moving in relation to us. With light waves the expansion or compression of the waves results in things getting a blue or red tint.

    • @Palimbacchius
      @Palimbacchius 3 года назад +2

      Light does always move in a straight line, but in curved spacetime a straight line is itself curved. It's a bit like the way a straight line from London to New York -- the path of an aeroplane, perhaps -- looks curved on a flat map.

      I can definitely see how gravitational lensing can be used to help is see even farther away. What I don't think it will be is super helpful since we can't control where the foci length hits not really what it is pointing at. So we would be getting a GREAT view of most likely middle of nowhere.

    Could you explain how the reverberation is redshifting/blueshifting the light? Is it just the increase in distance that some of the light has to travel? I wouldn't think that would be enough to produce noticeable redshifting
