Dude! Great video! I’ve been a professional mechanic and doing a fair amount of electrical work for years. Even having a snap on guy visiting our shop every week, I’m blown away with this sweet selection of tools you’re suggesting your top 5 I’ve never seen and look incredible!! Thank you!!
This is gold! Great tools for all the problems I encounter all the time. I'm constantly trying tools by trial and error and it gets expensive as well as having a bag full of tools I don't like anymore. Thanks for the video!
the game changer for me was the greenlee ek 12v crimper. its the same size as a paladin crimp all. of which i dont even carry anymore. however I do not use the greenlee on heat shrinkable terminals or splices, but for making up a buss bar with lots of ring terminals, its worth the $500. really like having it do the struggling for me when crimping #10 wire rings.
I'm glad the video was helpful. Certifications for Marine Electrician are not related to land based certifications in any way. You can be a Marine Electrician with no certifications at all but it's difficult to get work. There are certifications available from ABYC and other industry groups that lend more authority and are required by some employers, but no legal requirements like on land based work.
Yo brah! Nah, I consider them disposable. My first pair I kept around and sharpened on a stone, but since then I've just bought new ones a few times a year. If you aren't using them all day like I was they will probably last a long time.
0:46 - Move on to newer greener pastures…is that a figure of speech Matt, or are you looking at leaving the PNW…I guess I might need to catch up on a few of your videos.

Awesome video matt! It’s so hard to find quality marine electrical advice anywhere. I really think you should keep doing these!

These are some great top tips. Glad I found this before re-wiring my 1985 Boston Whaler Sport CC. Thanks.
Thank you for this video. I have a question. Is there a different certification for a Marine Electrian or is it just a standard electrician license?
