Thanks for the great info mate. I have a 3800 v6 in my Aussie rear wheel drive 1993 Holden VP Commodore, the Red Rocket my grandson named it. lol The check engine light came on a while back and one of my sons discovered it was the knock sensor. Okay long story short we found the plug had come off the sensor so my son cleaned and pushed it back into place. My motor ran sweeter in every way from better fuel efficiency to smoother running. Jeez i love the Buick v6 but i despise all the sensors. I discovered years ago the exhaust oxygen sensor causes the motor to run badly also. Those are the first two items i check if the motor appears "lethargic." Thanks again cobber and good cruising to you man. Peace.
It helped me brother! Thank you! I have a 1990 Buick LeSabre with LN3 3800 year before the Series 1 only differances is you have a differant intake manifold and slightly differant intake manifold rest is same.
Good for you! My Buick Park Avenue series 1 3800 L67 Supercharged is throwing code 43 knock sensor. So I cannot find this knock sensor? O had a 87 Riviera too. But this 3800 maybe different. You can see your from the top I cannot. Some of the newer 3800 have 2 knock sensors...if this is even the problem. I cannot find a diagram on the net where this thing is located. My Haynes Manuel says it is in front. Nope! I dunno?
Great video. Helped alot. I have the same issue with a series 2 and needed to locate the knock sensor.

Where is it on my 93 Buick Park Avenue Ultra?
Your oil filter is in the back?
Did you have to drain the engine coolant before you removed the old knock sensor?
I did not have to drain the coolant, I just removed the knock sensor.
@@GMRivieraZ24 Do you still have your 91 Riviera?
