- The accident killed 44-year-old pilot, instructor pilot 1st class Vladislav Vasechkin. Copilot Roman Chernov was taken to hospital and is now in intensive care, LifeNews reported in the investigative agencies.
So you abort the landing, turn left and head for the trees? Then when you've lost airspeed you do a steep left bank... what the hell!
The steep left bank might have been the left wing stalling first causing a spin over the trees. No idea why they banked to the left and headed to the trees then reduced throttle in the first place. It seems crazy..
Welcome to mother russia
They reduced power at 0:24 I'm not sure what that was about. Sad day
Lol the guy deleted his comment. I will delete mine now since it has no context.
Came for the video stayed waiting on context
They turn in slow speed. That is a cardinal sin in aviation.
The biggest cardinal sin. I remember when I went out alone for my first time I was practicing stalls and flipped the airplane upside down. All I could see is grass. I got control of it and went back 10 shades of blue looking like I just had a seizure lol
+Josh Homey No you fucking didn't. I've been flying for ten years and have never in my entire career met a pilot who practiced stalls solo before getting his private pilot.
As an instructor, if I have determined a student has mastered stall recognition and recovery I'll authorize solo stalls. But if there is the slightest question they cannot recognize and recover, I would not even let them solo.
+Erick Castro I'm a student pilot and my instructor cleared me for solo stall practise, which I have done on a number of occasions to get ready for my practical exam. I do this at 2600ft AGL so there is little risk since I can recover in less than 150ft (worst case).
I'm taking my checkride in 2 weeks and I've been authorized to practice stalls solo.
"Oh good there's a massive open field to our right... yeah have you seen this forest?"
Trees will slow you down. ;)
I feel bad for laughing at this
Obviously having issues with the plane 🤷🏻♂️
if they have low power a turn like that would drop them out of the sky
bruv
I think the biggest issue here is simple: After the student pilot failed to land correctly, the instructor throttled up, and kept his hand on the throttle for the duration of the flight. He should have taken COMPLETE control of the Aircraft and been the pilot in command. You’re either flying or you’re not.
He then reduced throttle, and then increased throttle - the student didn't stand a chance.
Low airspeed and flying low over trees is just plain stupid. Airspeed is the most important thing in a plane because that means energy.
The actions of the instructor seem delibrate and suicidal. feel sorry for the student
Dan McLaughlin .Nobody knows. It was student pilot ànd instructor??? FIRST off all pilot lost direction on take off position. !!! Wow, everything was wrong from beginning. I believe 2 guys in this airplane are completely with no knowledge about flying .Extremely with no responsibility ,crazy idiots .LOL
Jan Polubinski see the description
Generally seeing treetops above your level is a sign of trouble...
🤣🤣
Can't fathom why he would pull power like that at all. Makes no sense. Tragic.
No offense to the man who lost his life but what was he doing??? 😱 who pulls power after an aborted takeoff. And why did he fly runway heading away from the trees.
+FlightX101 My thoughts exactly!!
I wonder if after he committed to going miss did he look at airspeed building and raise some flaps!?
This whole thing just looks "off" to me...
+FlightX101 I think he still lived
Regardless of the power setting, they would have still recover if kept wings level and pitch up just to avoid trees in straight flight. But as a last resort of saving life, why the hell they made steep turn...
Kevin Markowicz It looks like he was going for a shallow turn, then the left wing stalled first and caused it to roll much farther than he had intended.
I know being young and learning something like this is super stressful and dificult at the best of times.
I hope this student doesn't blame himself for this. It's horrible what happened, but that instructor really did everything in the worst way possible to create this whole situation.
He cant blame himself, he died....😢
If you refer to the POH, it clearly states that the go-around procedure is to immediately point the nose at tall trees and rip the power back.
As tragic as this is, I really couldn't help but laugh at this.
Isaiah Phillip laugh it up isaiah because you’re heading straight to hell
Also, make a steep banking turn to the left.
Why, because the pilot was an Idiot??
RumikoOne they saw a squirrel that owed money
The main thing is they kept very calm as they broke very rule in the book.
Died with dignity at least

Runway heading wasn't maintained during the go around until a safe altitude was reached, and the pilot allowed the aircraft to get dangerously slow and then attempted a steep turn resulting in an accelerated stall close to the ground. The accident was preventable.
Did we even watch the same video? He hits the ground a bit roughly, aircraft banks left hard. He gives input to the right to level the wings, and decides to continue that direction, possibly because of the buildings to his right. At no point does he wilfully enter a steep left turn, that was the result of the stall caused by the stupid guy on the right pulling back the throttle. If you look at the stick you can see how the pilot flying tries to counter the roll the moment it begins. So the cause of this accident is the failure of the person to the right to let the pilot flying do the flying, or his stupid decision to pull back the power at low altitude and low airspeed.
At 0:21 the instructor killed himself and destroyed the plane.
Yeah what the heck why did he pull back the throttle?
***** Too bad.
***** One can suppose.
***** It was the primary reason. About the speed: Do you know the flap positions?
About the pitching up: What would you do if trees in front of you are higher than you? Without pitching up they had flown straight into the trees - not better.
Throttling back by FI caused it. Otherwise they hadn't stalled and had passed the trees high enough.
***** I fly long enough, believe me... they would. Because they missed the first trees only by a few feets. Without high pitch angle they had crashed directly into it.
But maybe both had survived!
See Air France 296! That pilot wanted to pull up the plane right in front of trees but he was already at the maximum angle of attack so the fly by wire controlled plane didn't allow to increase the angle further. So they crashed without stalling into the trees and only 3 people died!
Would the plane got controlled directly he had pulled the plane over the first trees but had stalled shortly after and smashed into the forest with a high sinkrate.
scary how he seems pretty calm and collected all the way through to the end.
ya i thought we would hear screams or something funny
There were 2 causes of the crash: air brakes were still engaged after the aborted landing + subsequent pilot errors. All of us have bad days, and it doesn't depend on what country we're from and what language we speak.
Bruh where did language or country come from
air brakes? what are you talking about
Where the hell did you see airbrakes??? 😂😂😂
Reducing power? Head towards the trees?WHAT? Why isn't the PIC controlling power and yoke? This was a massive failure and completely avoidable crash.
keep on eye on the throttle, the instructor rested his hand on the it during the climb and had gone complacent, thought the engine was loosing power and didn't notice until it was too late.. also the instructor shouldve taken control.
he was in control, he pulled it out, then added it back, but then oddly decided to turn at a massive bank. which stalled the left wing and dropped, you hear the stall horn seconds before it dips.
Jeez, that was totally avoidable !!!
He did a very big mistake. It looks like he wanted to crash the plane. Steep turn, increased thrust but couldn't maintain altitude! What the hell was that?
It is worth watching the instruction applying full throttle, then reducing it, then increasing it again.
I must have watched this two dozen times and I just don't understand the decisions that were made to cause this. This video is a great learning tool that should be seen by all student pilots.
On pretty much everything not to do.
Was telling a friend of mine, you can it right 10,000 times. But all it takes is to do it wrong just once.
uh...no. Unless you qualify as one. Actually, I have no idea what you are talking about. I would ask you, but you know even less about that than I do.
I don't know what you are talking about. I suspect that's the only thing we have or ever will have in common. As for Tyler Perry, I have nothing but respect for the man. He went from living in a car to being the head of his own studios. And the man has his own jet!!! Which will be the next thing I learn to fly hopefully. I suspect you haven't and never will have the accomplishments of Mr. Tyler Perry. You used his name and I immediately knew who you were talking about. What are the chances that if you'd used your own name I would be able to say that. LoL....Yeah, you know what time it is.
Not enough airspeed or to much bank = stall.
Okay, several questions:
After aborting the landing, why did he leave runway heading?
Why did the Instructor pull power?
Why didn't the pilot nose down after clearing the trees? The nose-up position appears to have led to a stall, causing loss of aileron command and inducing an uncontrolled roll. I hate to say it, but these are rookie mistakes.
yeah they should have applied full power lower the nose and when it started to entre a spin push the stick forward and full rudder and they may have had just enough time to pull out or atleast hit the trees at a level angle not rolled over
This clip was very scary because im learning to fly in the same plane the evektpr sportstar
XO INSANITY
the sportstar is a good trainer. Honestly, the problem here is the instructor for A) pulling power and B) for not taking over when the student kept the nose up and left runway heading.
+Jeremy Truesdell ik right why the frick would the instructor pull the power back on a go around and why did the guy keep pulling back and aggrivating the stall
pretty sure they were having trouble climbing. maybe a couple cylinders dropped out or what not. you saw the plane clearly at a pitch up position but not climbing. my question is why did he not put it down immediately in the grass when he figured out the plane wasn't climbing. instead of fighting with it and putting it in the trees
Same question here..
Why did he leave rwy hdg ??
I dont see any obstacle on rwy heading instead of turning left at low speed then get struck by trees.
Why he makes so dangerous turn?? It was not needed. He could make an easy landing. I hope they survived the crash cheers!!

Right before lending, I can see the plane in full control by looking at the stick. Note that right after taking off again (instructor full power input), the stick has no response to the right...see the pilot turning it to the right without any plane response. Looks like a dead stick after some control cable malfunction. Even though the yaw caused by engine rotation turns the plane to the left, the stick control response to the right, did not work.
instructor added the power effecting a go around. instructor pulled power back then added power. instructor pull aft (looks like full aft) on the stick and plane stalls.
thumbnail looks like their going to hit a tornado
Watch the ASI (Airspeed Indicator), he's at near stall speed as he aborts and pulls out to clear the trees, around 0:28 he's pitches up to clear the trees, thinking he's got the problem solved, and I don't think he's actually turning, but goes into an unrecoverable asymmetrical stall at 0:33.
In retrospect, he'd have been better off to turn back slightly towards the runway on his abort, giving him more time and distance to clear the tree line. That would have allowed the engine to rev up and gain precious airspeed. In other words, PICK YOUR EXIT. If at 0:22 or so he had decided to track slightly right, missing the tree line altogether, it's doubtful he would have had to pull up and induce the stall seconds later.
It really Looked to me like they forgot to input Right Rudder after the go around was initiated... That's what really caused this accident. The spin was a result of low airspeed yes, but the trees were a result of poor directional control.
@@Jonnydeerhunter I didn’t see any adjustment and I assume they had full flaps as well. Hard to gain airspeed in that situation.
Why did he throttle down after the abort? stupid is that?
Anyone who has learned to fly a taildragger will have been through this kind of landing error and just powered out of it and gone around after the first bounce sent him towards the edge of the runway. No one should have been hurt an no damage done to the aircraft after this quite normal training error.
i have never piloted a plane, nor do i have formal training. but one thing i know is, you need to power up and reduce angle to avoid stalling the plane. or am i wrong?
I’m not a pilot but it seems like that crash did not have to happen.
Wow, that was more distressing than I thought it would be.
At the very end you see the FI pulling full back on the controls right before the steep turn stall. Should have unloaded the wings first (level the plane)and spent the next 2 seconds recovering. Geewizz
everything they did was the wrong way to do it. Once you get too slow, dont ever pull up. never pull power out and pitch up. It would have been smarter to either land and crash in the grass or to do a normal landing using the tree tops as a runway. Either way, both would have probably lived. Prime example of what not to do in every way.
Using the tree tops as a runway?!!
ProjectFlashlight612 yes, crush them down while landing thus creating a surface for the plane to land on.
Please answer the NTSB’s phone calls. They need your assistance.
Vodka + Airplanes = This video ?!
Also appears that nobody knew who was in control. Student lets go of stick, perhaps because he assumes instructor has control?
The instructor did have control, but made several mistakes.

June' 18, a steep left bank. NO wing lift & he just banked into ground as plane lost lift on left side. Tragic. Horrible scene.
0:20 He told the student: When go-around, you don't need full power. Let me show you how to save some fuel now.
I am not even a pilot or a person who knows much about planes, but this is literally video that is showing what you shouldnt do
Apparently alot of pilots in the comments section, maybe, I don't know. All I know is that I'm not a pilot, so my only comment is that this was tragic to watch.
There probably ARE a lot of pilots here. We watch these videos to learn what not to do. With most things in life you "live and learn." In aviation you "learn and live."
Indeed. It's good for us to watch these videos, this one being a textbook example of what not to do.
Sadly, the actions of this pilot are very often seen among GA fliers, adding to their abysmal stats for accidents.
These videos are giving us a tool, where we can discuss these things with less experienced people, and maybe save their life some time in future.
The copilot was like: "tf you doing??"
Never knew an immediate turn at stall speeds was how to perform a go around.
Very very poor airmanship, if any at all.
This video was brought to you by Skyy Vodka 😂😂
hehe so funny
Hard to make sense of this. On watching a few times over seems like the right hand seat decides after the floated landing to initiate the go around and applies full power. Left hand seat is still on the controls. Aeroplane appears to be asking for a boot full of right rudder to arrest the yaw and resultant roll. At one stage power is reduced then reapplied and the aeroplane enters a stall/spin into the trees. I'm not judging it's just hard to make sense of what happened here. Who was flying the plane?
It seems that after the failed go around there were only PAX on board.. playing randomly with the flight controls..
Exactly
its crazy at 0:40 you can hear the instructor give his final exhalation.... Sad, but flying is probably one of the most unforgiving things you can do if you're going to make mistakes..
Wow that totally spooked the snot out of me..Why did the instructor lower the throttle? Man, the poor pilot didn't even see that coming!!
0:32 there was nobody on the flight controls!!
***** kinda what I was getting at
+Michael Carr actually the copilot had a hand on the controls. The aircraft stalled, once that happens at low altitude you're Goin down
YOUR CONTROLS ?!?!?!????
sbowesuk A
Michael Carr and at 0:43
So many xenophobic comments under this video. What's wrong with you people?
Why did the instructor pull back on the power during the overshoot ? Never seen a procedure like that, noise reduction for the trees maybe. (Joke)
SVC YEAH RIght? I thought that too... Crazy move there... cannot be explained...
True. That's why it went down. Turned in slow speed. But it can't be taken back now.
When in doubt, abort the landing, but maintain a straight heading until you have altitude and airspeed to clear the field. That hard left at low speed, over trees no less, was a wrong move.
Both the instructor and student have no clue what they are doing.... Such a pointless accident that could have been easily avoided. Cutting power, heading into the trees, stalling the aircraft doing a turn. Incredibly stupid....
mabye he cut the throttle at 0:21 because he saw that the student was not turning away from the trees, and thought the student wanted to turn and that cutting the power would give the student more time to turn. either way, that does not make sense because the power should be full. this confuses me
Cutting Power doesn't give you time but costs you altitude. And you want to have altitude if you are slow after take off.
More throttle = more airspeed = more lift...
***** Cutting power after take off before you reached the golden 500 ft AGL never makes sense
I'm sorry but what your saying makes no sense. At low attitude you would never want to cut power like that especially over trees.
If the instructor didn’t like what was happening he should have taken full control of the airplane. Not just messing with the throttle control without telling the student.
The guy at the end is very calm...
IAC found the deceased pilot guilty of a plane crash near Vladimir - source - life.ru 150081 (Feb 18, 2015)
According to a source in law enforcement agencies, the instructor forgot to remove the brake shields when the light-engine aircraft re-took off.
Tragic footage: Cockpit dashcam catches moment of deadly plane crash in Russia - RT News
shows the upside-down crashed plane with flaps still down.
You do not raise the flaps until you have increased airspeed. They obviously didn't have enough airspeed already, even with flaps down.
Watch the air speed indicator . always watch the airspeed indicator. airspeed is life.
No matter how many times I watch this I just can't figure out why he didn't maintain runway heading and climb out....
It really makes no sense.
If you listen to where they are entering the tree area they go full throttle. Why are they just then
going full throttle?
The problem started when they were on final approach. The student flared too soon and the planed dropped onto the runway, scaring them both. The instructor then went full throttle but did not take control of the rudder/stick. This sudden action caught the student off guard and he didn't give proper rudder input to count the p-forces so they veered off to the left. At this point it looked like they were good (rate of climb and IAS was good) but then the instructor pulled back the throttle and at that point they were doomed. It's unclear if the instructor took full control at that point but IMO I don't think it would have mattered. The instructor pushes the throttle all the way and with the student or instructor pulls up too aggressively and you can see the IAS drop below stall speed and it all over quickly after that.
+GreyMaulkin there was so much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin...
I have trouble believing that the guy in the right Seat was even a CFI!!
I mean everything the guy did was WRONG!!! Not maintaining runway heading is the first problem. Then as you stated he did not take control of the airplane. If you watch the airspeed indicator when they are over the trees they are bleeding off airspeed like crazy and then a attempt to make a left-hand turn! Seriously who is flying this plane!?
+DillonLawrence83 I am not sure the left hand turn was a result of stick input. I believe it was an entry into a spin, due to the high angle of attack, but they were so low that it only got a quarter turn.
+GreyMaulkin it's very possible it was lack of rudder control but definitely looked like a spin entry!
I was thinking if they were having issues gaining altitude when they started turning they lost some vertical component of lift. Which aggravated the issue all together....
This is just a textbook example of everything NOT TO DO when going miss
Great explanation, thanks GreyMaulkin.
whos the killed pilot? Is he on the left side on the screen the one holding the stick?
wow hard to believe such mistakes were made, i mean if you have no idea of how the physics of flight work then i'd believe you but reducing the power when you need to clear trees... and then at such low airspeed banking that much the aircraft what did he think it was gonna happen. but first of all, why did he turn towards the trees when straight forward you had plenty of distance to climb? If you are pilots and understand the situation soon enough you should not be afraid to speak up and take actions if someone else is flying. Its your life!! and seconds chances are not given sometimes. Sad:(
Can I use this in a compilation please?
We all make mistakes, thats life. RIP
The guy in the frame at the end defintly died. You could see the life leave his body. Shits fuckedup
Just put full power keep wings level and fucking go around wtf is so hard to understand about that
wow...unbelievable
Worst piece of flying I’ve witnessed. The stall was already happening during the attempted climb out. To turn left to the trees is just madness. Abort landings always proceed runway heading 5 degrees nose up full power and hope for positive rate.
Never abort left or right with low airspeed and horizon obstacles.
BTW if you read this I’m a certified PPL instructor and former A320 F/O.
he/they tought they are flying a F-22
bro was flying that like it was a simulator
Sad for the people involved, but they really seem very careless, and nature is not forgiving when it comes to that.
The instructor made some HUGE mistakes. He initiated a go around without announcing it. Therefore the student was not ready for the YAW due to high thrust and rudder required which is why they turned left. Second and biggest error was reducing the throttle for no reason, causing an enen lower speed and which resulted in the crash. Certainly didnt see any "1st class instruction" But I wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully he learnt from his mistakes.
Paul, you are correct. The number one mistake was not clearly announcing who was in command. Neither knew and assumed the other knew what the other was doing. Instructor did not take control immediately and student was confused for sure. Clear lesson for everyone. I hope this tragedy reinforces this. RIP.
Paul hes dead. No recovery
Bingo. The yaw was the culprit in this stall spin accident.
Paul so he gave a boot full of rudder and cut throttle without communicating . Wow . Worst teacher ever .
Aviate, navigate, communicate .
Paracelsus A lack of rudder input was the problem here. It appears the left wing was stalling and applying power with no height they were history.
The calmest crash landing in history
They died dummy.
The power was pulled back momentarily...but it did look like they were clear of the trees in spite of that. The airspeed indicator was near the bottom of the white arc, (VSo) when the student started the left hand bank @ 0:26. The climbing turn to the left put them in serious trouble @ 0:30 I do not see an obstruction that required a turn to the left. Perhaps a left hand pattern was being flown and they were turning to rejoin the pattern to shoot the landing again. @ 0:14 - 0:15 most CFI's would holler " I have control "
scottwithers1964
Low speed due to throttle being pulled > pitch up > less lift > reduced aileron effectiveness > unable to correct the slight roll to the left > uncontrolled roll to the left > crash.
Leon, you could be right that the initial roll to the left was un-commanded. Did adding power without rudder input, yaw the airplane and accidentally pick up the right wing? Did adding power without rudder send them off the left of the runway to begin with? Everything I've ever flown had good rudder authority right down to VSo....... it's hard to imagine not being able to pick up the wing with rudder @ 0:27.
The problem started with the instructor adding full power yawing the plane to the left, which the student was clearly not prepared for. The same thing happened at 0:26 , he didn't start a left bank. The CFI should have either said "my controls" or "go around" before the kid even touched down, especially before adding full power. At such low airspeeds that rudder authority is terrible, perhaps this is a lightweight or higher performance aircraft as well.
Ohhh man. Approach was too fast. Where's the rest of the video?
Can instructor n trainee wear helmet n body armor suits while teaching a new hand? Just asking ..
No the helmets would fill the cockpit.
The classic look of a stall, with Spin introduced due to loss of airspeed at the .25 sec mark. The dude to the right...Instructor gives full power only to pull the power back which can be seen at .21 Sec mark and does nothing to prevent the student / dude sitting left to prevent pulling the stick back and putting in right aileron which causes the stall resulting in a spin to the left due to improper control inputs for "Stall Recover". But in the end, this falls on the Instructor for not managing the flight and properly overseeing the student and possibly not being all that good as a pilot.
true
rip and good recovery
In what way was that a good recovery? It is one of the worst examples of flying I've seen. The instructor didn't announce a go-around, making the aicraft yaw left to the bewildered student. The instructor cut the throttle mid climb.
Henry Stitt No, he meant “get well soon”.
Who died? The guy on the left, or on the right? It looked survivable to me.
Steep angle of bank (turn) at low speed and low altitude....classic Approach Turn Stall. Looks like the student in the left seat is doing ‘bounces’ (practice landings)...right seat instructor should have seen this coming and leveled the wings and nose and applied full power. Too bad!
What kills a human in this kind of crash? What killed the pilot? It seems that the end picture shows him already dead, but cockpit seems intact, his head seems ok, not hit by fuselage or debris.
What happened to the second set of control stick for the instructor? Bummer!
Not sure who is actually flying the aircraft. The pilot has the stick, while the instructor has the throttle.
hate when this happens
Oh yes. I also hate it when the pilot instructor is intoxicated whilst doing a line of coke before flying
It's weird how calm and relax they still look at 0:35 even when they see imminent crash in front of them because the plane was almost upside down toward the trees.
they wanted to die, i think...i cant think another thing about this...suicide or whatever...bad very bad pilot.
The flight instructor killed them. He takes over before touchdown, turns toward the trees, and then let’s up on power. It’s utterly insane. All he had to do was maintain power, get airspeed up and climb. Instead, he starts a turn left and then cranks the yolk right when it starts to slip - literally guaranteeing the wreck. Horrible.
This is how ignoring the rudder can kill you. Until the left spin has begun, and the istructor applied (too late) full right rudder, no one controls it. The inadvertent left bank and turn, and few seconds later, the left spin, all was caused by prop torque and yaw, that no one try to counteract.
How hard is it to just touch down and cut power?
Why the HELL didn't the instructor take over and give him full throttle?
You could tell the guy at the very end of the video was knocked out...hope there ok
he died lol
Christov Bro why "lol"?
its funny
Christov Bro what do you find funny?
Welcome to what America is becoming.
Wow! I'm not sure what was going on there! I thought the student might have floated the aircraft to high and was going to stall so the instructor applied full throttle and appeared to take over controls to soften the landing. Why the aircraft did not maintain center to the runway and allowed to wander towards the trees after full power and why throttle back still low over the trees if you're not landing over the runway only they would know, but the results sure wasn't good. Low, slow, steep turn going uphill is not where you want to be.
Gotta watch that airspeed, the last turn doomed them, bled off the little speed they had left.
Idiot instructor starts messing with the throttle while the pilot is left still controlling the yoke. A classic case of "who's flying the plane?" This rarely ends well.
The problem was not the steep turn, the problem is that he reduced power for some reason as he was heading toward the trees (i suspect he was about to do an emergency landing before he arrived to the trees at his right but at last second he changed his mind) and the power loss plus the steep turn stalled the plane
What was the instructor thinking?
So in Russia you do not earn your wings until the plane loses its wings on a tree? Got it !
That turn was just plain stupid at that height and speed.
Watch his airspeed
Exactly.
There were like four mistakes there dude... each time, you could have pulled out of it... I hope these guys are okay and back in the air..? Under more favorable tutelage and guidance?
the instructor died
It was a sUnicode pact between gay lovers that the world could not understand.
WHY are both of them trying to control the aircraft at the same time!? Foolish!
