- I did this video with intentions to maybe help someone make a choice of what subs to buy...its different to see a sub on a website but seeing the size of a sub next to other subs gives you a different perspective ...if you wanna hang and are on a budget quality and price go with SKAR....

Just put 2 8 evl's in my car with the rp1200 and love it and i must say it has been about 20yrs since my last system and i cant believe how cheap it is now to get your car pounding.Keep up the good work.

I noticed a few things in common to me, one my garage set up that I used to have with all my tools and s*** and second the amount of knowledge that you have on equipment and systems along with alot of similar questions I have as well. I definitely got to give credit to where it's due. The boxes that you make are the s*** you got f****** talent bro keep pumping out these videos and you'll get where you want. (Persistence) I don't do videos but I can tell when someone has talent or potential and you do have the two. Finally I noticed that you are a Skar person if I'm not mistaken. That's what got me watching your videos. I have 2 evl 10's that are sitting in a Skar box that I don't know what to do with and 2 evl 12's that I had to remove from their original box that they got shipped in. I had no choice because I don't have a box that will fit in my trunk for those two. Along with the rp 2000 they are doing their job. Anyways, I'll keep watching your vids and help support you with the notification on and thumbs up.

Lmao N I thought I was the only one who admires my equipment for a CPL days before I install it! Just put a DDX10 and 2 IX8s in my lil truck! Did stick with Rockford 6x8 3-ways in all four doors. Been a rough few years, so it'll only improve. Was always a Kicker man til I heard a CPL these. Lol I'm far from wealthy, so for the price, I doubt I'll be goin back! Keep doin you Bro! They get better as they ware-in. The stiffness of the cones messes with its movement. Mine is almost free to move as it needs. About 4 days with it now "EVL 15 dual 2"

Yeah IDK what people's issues are where they keep blowing subs, or amps going into protect mode, I have had 1 Skar IX10-D2, in a 1.5 cf dual 10" generic MDF box, with one of the 10" sub holes sealed over with a piece of 3/4" thick 11x11" Plywood, box is essentially sealed and fiber filled.
On the power side I have a stock 135amp alternator with the big 3 wire upgrade running a 16ft 0ga OFC power wire back to my 2 battery bank 2 Napa Gold model 90/T5 batteries (Fuse blocked 150amp AGU, and chassis grounded in 2 places), with 3ft of 4ga OFC to a Rockville RXD-T1 amp (fused 80amp AGU) and then 1.5ft 8ga directly to my Skar IX10-D2.
I've been running it daily at 50% volume and 3/4 bass load for a year now, without any issues. The output was 670 rms, and the only time I popped a fuse, was on the initial setup it popped the 80amp AGU. Yeah I know, I have a Shitbox setup, but it runs and sounds good too. 🤣

Anyways, seriously tho, I have the 10" DDX 2ohm in a black carpeted SKAR vented box wired at 2ohm to a HYPHONIKS ZUES 2400w amp. Ive owned, installed, drooled over thumping systems since I was a wee young laddy in Southern CA. In 1996 my first car (67 VW Bug) I put 2x 10" Kicker Comps wired to a 1000w Power Acoustics amp that was purple and had bad ass skulls on it as well (I think it as PA or maybe a company that sounded similar but I found it in the Recycler newspaper new for %50 lol). That system hit so hard! Ive had MTX 12s wired to 1200w that literally popped all my windows out of my 3rd gen Prelude the bass hit so hard.
Anyways, the DDX 10" HITS HARD AF!!! My question is should I go EVL over DDX? Im upgrading to a single 12". These subs really arent not bad at all bro
I would go with EVL I abused mine ...I had 4 15evls in a flat wall on a TARAMPS BASS 8k wired to .5 ohm and I went to every competition I could..I would burp over 8 k watts they took it all day for months and months ..and they can play pretty low..and I've had them for awhile if you watch my videos over the years

@@415dboiz510 what's up bro so if your looking for spl you need a ported box my friend and skars spl sub is the zvx...i am trying to figure out which route I am going to go for my wall I have 4 evl 15s going in it soon but in the future I will be upgrading and my choices that ive come up with are the skar zvx because of the price or sundown x 15s or the apocalypse deaf bounce 3015s or the avatar stu 15s...thats where I am going for more spl but my upgrade will also include another 8k amp 360amp alt and 40ah yinlong bank hahaha ...all in all more spl equals more money the subs ive narrowed down to i am not even sure if they are directed towards spl but i have no experience with any of the ones I mentioned but we shall see...if you want to stick with solar the zvx is your sub bro

I had several skar builds only bad thing I can say the break in process took me a while on every set up I had and i I received a messed up sub but they sent new one and didn't even want proof they just sent it
skar fucked people over in the beginning with selling used shit as new.... but now, theyve overcame small bussiness hurdles, and are solid..... im down with skar.. they reach the low bass better than sundown, for a third of the price.... cant really go wrong... its cheaper to replace the whole driver than rebuild w small parts lol....

It depends on your amp if you get multiple subs or other stuff...because when you wire your sub or subs your final ohm.load will be different ...do you have a amp already or anything or just starting from scratch when. You can let me know what you got or dont got or budget and I will let you know what i would do
About to get a skar evl 15 loaded enclosure hooked up to a skar 1200.1d what are your guys thoughts on whether I should build a box myself or just use the prefab enclosure from skar
So ive never personally heard skars prefab so I cant give a positive or a negative people talk trash on prefabs and I get it most are ...but these are from skar for SKAR equipment and people are buying the down4sound profab "prefab" boxes load with subs and with out subs...im not a trash talker on peoples bass i encourage all bass....im sure both companies enclosures slam....now I love building boxes a little over factory recommendations someone suggested it i ran with it and I like it....if your not a box builder or if you wanna buy a prefab box from one of those companies "just not a stereo shop prefab😂" and get your car bump in while you build a box or have one built thats good too whatever your skills or wallet can do ....thats what I suggest...just stay away from those stereo shop and swapmeet boxes....

My buddy bought 2 8” zvx but they sound weird have you had that issue ? I feel like you hear the cone or the dust cap! I did notice the sub I super stiff! We tried it to my fosgate 500 bd at 2 ohms it throws around 600 rms and it’s in a 1.5 cuft ported enclosure tuned around 36hz!! Idk
Sounds like your buddy is clipping them...i put a zvx 8 in big rig on a rp1500 wired at 2ohm and its takes i habe heard that sound and i back of the the gain knob and its fine I pretty sure its because im clipping it ...and with 2 zvx 8 s you need some more power you might be trying to make that little amp work to hard bigger amp doesnt have to work hard bro that way you do a clean signal and still slap....

The evl is better and cost more then the ddx but motor to motor evl is 166 and ddx is 206 hmmm!!!

I dont wanna give you false info but its wired at 2 ohm on the skar rp1500.1 it says in the manuel its 930 or 980 watts or something like that....and I'm sure it can take some more no problem...depending on what kind of music you bump I think but I would be comfortable putting 1200 sms on one ...my wifes car is a lease. So just keeping it cool👍😁
