Secondary inline dryer lint filter - How to keep lint off your porch

- The builders ran the dryer vent directly onto the front porch, which means we have dryer lint all over the place! I found this secondary lint filter that can be installed in-line, and it works great! I don't show the actual install, but I'll let you know what I did to install it, and the tools needed. Even if your vent is not on your porch, this can help keep lint out of your mulch or yard. Thanks for watching!

I’ve been ignoring this problem for way too long and just cleaning up the mess on my back patio. I feel stupid. Thanks for the video. Now I’m on this.
I think the only reason I never noticed at my last house was it dumped into the grass or just blew away. An annoying problem to have, but this has at least reduced greatly the amount of lint on my porch. Good luck!
Hey man, great video. Im an HVAC technician and Im actually installing 27 of those bad boys into an apartment building.
It was a 2.5k upsell, but it will save thousands in duct-cleaning fees over the lifetime of the apartment. 👍
That’s awesome! The only thing I would improve on these is adding some sort of clamp to hold it closed. I added a strip of Velcro to mine to I could latch it. We had it pop open a few times.
@@typicalthrill good to know! The plastic doors are a little flimsy, I happen to have a bunch of that stuff lying around, gotta future proof that stuff! Many, many thanks.
NOTE: NOT FOR GAS DRYERS ! ! !
I have not found any secondary lint filter intended for use with a gas dryer.
That is to bad, I am looking for one for my gas dryer. I am guessing the plastic housing wont stand up to the heat. I wish they simply made a metal one like this, I would buy it in an instant. the lint filtering in the dryers themselves is poor...
They say “not for use with gas dryers” but never say why. The dryer heat passes the internal filter first and it’s plastic. I’m going for it.
My sense is that the heat of the exhaust of a gas dryer may be too hot for plastic housing.
I would think that maybe a metal housing would be ok. Then the ball again if it was that simple someone would have done it by now.
