I see what you've done there. Anyway, the treadmill is not for me, the olive oil used makes it a very expensive exercise.

Great video! A virtual walking group sounds amazing. :) I'm trying to get out every morning around 6 am with my dogs but some days the bed is too comfortable LOL.

Don’t apologise, it was fantastic. You answered so many questions I’d been meaning to ask you about ✅ all the boxes. I’m sure a lot of your viewers had also noticed the changes to your face and neck over the past few weeks. The changes are incredible, well done to you. I definitely need to jump on this band wagon……my muffin top resembles more of a rubber ring of late. It’s hard to admit when we’ve over indulged, but once we have then we can just crack on and make those changes. Thanks for being honest and showing us everything. I like the idea of a group walk, just need to get over being shy 🙈 👍

I also had too change my diet and exercise. I am now on a Paleo diet and feel better. :-) No more bread, potatoes and rice. The sugar, starch and oil from seeds was about to kill me!!!

20000 steps is roughly 16kms😮.Im a runner and i dont run that every day, unless im training for a race.Must have been a shock to your system.Stick to it but 10000 is probably more sustainable.

Great work, T! The wife just said she can see the difference in your face already.
Your efforts have really inspired me. Until 3 years ago, I was averaging 10k steps per day and since then, almost none. I’ve managed to put on nearly 7kg and for a short-ass with a small frame, feel pretty crap, with brain fog every day and high BP. One thing I can’t bear is reliance on prescription drugs and am desperate to wean myself off of the BP tabs.
I’m going to start at 10k today and build up.
I like the sound of what you said towards the end of your vid, ie a virtual walk together for mutual inspiration.
Please let me know if that’s something you decide to do. 👍🏼

I'm on 8_9000 steps, I've gone from 18 stone to 16.4 hovering. I'm on a half baked keto diet, I have 2 days a week off, ...I drink, ive changed my drink to h pills, all sugar turns to alchol, not an answer. My problem doing something else, I have a guitar and apps for Portuguese, but can't focus long enough

I have to say that in terms of weight loss, I have not really seen the same results. I do 4 hours walking and at least 30 mins rowing per day as well as weights and some yoga/stretching. In Portugal, my body weight hovers around 68kg and I have been doing this for years. I am 175cm and my ideal weight is 64-72kg, so I have no idea how your ideal weight can be 80+Kg. We are the same height no?
When I was in Thailand, I used to go walking before breakfast and that does cause a lot of weight loss. I had a bit of a crisis there, as my weight went down to 61.5kg and I had to revert to going after breakfast again to stabilize the weight. I also had to increase my carb intake. In Portugal, i never had this issue. Probably due to the cakes and cheese. If you love walking so much, you should do a pilgrimage to Fatima. In terms of time, in the summer, I can only go prior to 08:30 and after 19:00. It is too sunny for me.

Yes, I was mistaken... I'm 176cm and it's 62-77kg... I did Keto. several years ago and got to just shy of 100kg and I looked thin... I think I would look way too thin at under 80kg... but we'll see... one thing I know, the less you weigh, the less calories you burn for the same effort, for obvious reasons. The pilgrimage to Fatima is a good idea... I've been thinking about doing walking tours of famous places, following the tourist bus routes, but on foot!

@@theportugeeza You would look just fine if you were under 70kg. The only issue I can think of is excess skin / stretch marks. In time that will go away. Anyway, one step at a time. You need to lose the visceral fat that is surrounding your organs. This is the stuff that will damage your health long term.

Hope you don't think of this as a lecture but as advice you could try and a way you can think about diabetes and fat storage.
You've done a month of significant daily long walks and probably a little too much for optimal health truth be told. It's been healthful and is one of the best cures for depression easily more effective than SSRIs (Prozac). Exercise is indeed mood elevating.
You calorie count which is conscious control of energy intake which works for a while and then at some point absolutely does not work. Appetite is NOT conscious and the vast overwhelming majority of obese people aren't gluttons.
Sugar and highly processed carbs are the cause of obesity for the vast majority of people.
Each slice of bread is 10gms carbs and 4 slices = 40 gms.
Each gm of carbs is 4 Cals whilst each grm of fat is 9 Cals but fat is satiating and doesn't stimulate insulin whilst carbs stimulate insulin. Carb intake prevents fat burning for many hours after ingestion in prediabet and diabetic people.(and only an hour or so in metabolically healthy people). Carbs are the very worst snack. Fat and protein is the best snack if you feel the need.
I recommend carb counting to avoid increased appetite which means a sustainable unconscious restraint of calories. Aim for less than 25 gms carbs to lose fat easily. Never eat more than 50 gms of carbs a day if you're borderline diabetic.
Some people with high BMI (body mass index index which is weight divided by height squared)) are very muscular and not obese. Some people (10% or less of obese people) are healthy with subcutaneous fat rather than visceral fat and aren't diabetic or at risk of diabetes.
High sugar high carb diet is fat storage mode and it diminishes unconscious muscle activity (mislabelled as sloth) as well as increased appetite (described as gluttony).
The mixture of fat and carbs (not natural in nature) is the most fattening (think donuts or cheese sandwiches).
Additionally if your carbs are less than 25 gms you will find you likely will not need blood pressure meds (a few GPs know this) I'd recommend Metformin (for the rest of your life) if ur not on it already to improve your insulin sensitivity which helps you lose fat as well.
10k steps is probably optimum in terms of general health.

I don't think of it as a lecture at all and I thank you for your input. I did Keto years ago and got all the positive effects... no more afternoon head fog, rapid weight loss, more energy... but, I hated seated so much meat... in fact, I am now vegetarian. Over my life I have given up alcohol, cigarettes and 'other things'... bread and cheese may be my only vice and I eat those in moderation... I understand how carbs. work and my choice is to burn them off... IMO, the amount of excess calories I'm burning makes the carbs. from a couple of slices of bread trivial... If I was just doing a half-hour walk, say, okay... but what I'm doing is next level!

    • @Jimboken1
      @Jimboken1 23 дня назад

@@theportugeeza Low carb isn't necessarily keto but a vegetarian diet makes limiting carbs to less than 50 gms very difficult indeed. It's possible but not easy.
Moderate protein rather than high protein is the goal as too much protein raises blood sugar (gluconeogensis) and insulin whilst way too much protein is sickening.
I think you look much healthier than last month.. Enjoy the ride.

@@theportugeeza You can still do Keto as a vegetarian ...look into Heavenly Fan youtube channel - its a cooking channel and she is Keto - some fabulous recipes. I lost 50 lbs in 3 months with absolutely no exercise - just Keto and intermittent fasting. (Bread was the hardest thing to give up and it absolutely IS an addiction to carbs lol) The main thing about carbs is the insulin spike - while insulin levels are high you absolutely will not burn fat and as a pre-diabetic your body is working harder to bring insulin levels down. I don't count calories because it is a flawed system. If you ate your 2000 calorie allowance as Oreo biscuits would you lose weight? No lol (unfortunately). I also make my own Keto Ice-cream so I don't have to do without. Once I started reading the labels and seeing the crap that is being put into our food it really helped, also showed all the hidden carbs.
