Yes please for a video about quitting drinking and smoking. A success story is very uplifting. Seems like a lot more folks are struggling with drink since 2020.

The pay at the kennel must not be bad - someone was driving a nice enough Mercedes. Best not to ask questions. I did that once at an orphanage in China and was persona non grata thereafter. You have inspired me to go to the local kennel in Ansiao and volunteer. In truth, I could house several dogs easily. I have the land and the space. I just doubt my current dog would accept another animal on her territory.

Great idea, T. I don't know if you remember Tasha, my husky in Hong Kong, she was from the SPCA. You know I'd love a dog but not while I'm renting and planning to relocate to Italy on a more permanent basis. Definitely do a few more like this.

So much tail wagging, Someone should come up with energy production based on it. A fostering program could also be very useful, it doesn't look like they are too crowded, but anyway, a today foster family can be tomorrow's forever home.

We have a city vet service that comes around to take care of stray cats because there are a lot. I'd love to volunteer, but will look for a kennel closer to me.

This tugs at my heart. We'll be in Portugal permanently in December but this kennel is 2 hours away. Found a shelter close to our house that really seems to need help and sent a donation. I'll be retired and needing something to do so I'm looking forward to being a regular volunteer. We were already planning a getting a dog in Portugal and it will be hard not to want them all. Thank you for bringing this to people's attention. 😊

The same thing happened to me! All of my adult life I've been 5'10". In 2020 I measured 5'10" and this year my doctor measured me at 5'8". I had him measure twice to be sure. Since 2020 I started running my business mostly from my desk and didn't go out as much. I spend a lot of time on my computer. I did loose some weight but 2" in height is crazy to me. Looking in the mirror I do have that slouch from sitting at my desk so I think I'll try a brace to develop better habits. I really enjoy the random content. You never know what's comming next and so much better than just one subject like real estate or places to go...etc. Keep up the good work!

Do you know if some areas of Portugal are better or worse for mosquitos? I am a mosquito magnet. I know I can't avoid them completely but wondered if they were less if you live a bit higher?

You do seem to walk a bit better with it. Often when you have been walking with a camera, I've wondered if you have one leg very slightly shorter than the other (much more common than people realise). It's more noticeable when you hold the camera in your left hand.

Personally I’ve never been a sloucher thanks to my grandma…but nowadays it’s just so damn comfortable to slouch 🙂 and the more you say the word slouch the more ridiculous it sounds 😂

It is not a bad price for someone who wants to live in what is essentially going to be a studio apartment at the end of the day. The land will require huge upkeep as you have mentioned, but it will be a truly gargantuan task for 95% of people. Getting the power connected is likely to cost under Euro 1000. Solar would cost far more, because if it was off grid, you need batteries and those are awful. For a good (fully off grid) system you could spend almost as much as the land costs. Solar is not a bad idea. Off grid solar with batteries is. Wind turbines are crap. They wear out in a few years. I have had them in the past as I was far from impressed. Before buying, check out the forest fire history of the area. You do not want to be in a place with a history of conflagrations. Also, check that the well is still viable. Many are not nowadays. At a minimum, you will need to invest in filtration equipment to purify the water.

A friend of mine, at a young age was diagnosed with spondylosis, he used a device that had a belt to strap on the waist, another one to strap on the neck, and a metal bar to hold his back straight. The one you showed us today only pulls your shoulders back, and still allows the user to fight it. A leather belt twisted into an 8 shape could be better than that. Even with your shoulders pulled back, your spine can still be way too curled. But hey, to be aware is the first step to fight it.

I think these things are mainly just to remind / motivate the wearer to stand straight. Like you, I doubt it has much physical effect. I do the exercises such as hanging from an overhead bar and doing neck exercises involving holding the head backwards and forwards for some time. Of all the stuff i have ever done, the neck exercises (and walking) had the greatest effect on my physical comfort level and posture.

Having done this i would say stay well clear of it enjoy your life💪🐸✌️and if you dont have experience in construction leave it well alone
