  • The description of the Valley of Lemuel found in 1 Nephi corresponds well with a river-valley in northwest Arabia called Wadi Tayyib al-Ism.

    After reaching modern day Suez on the Red Sea, they traveled 3 days to the Nile River. This is the only continually flowing river in the region. The phrase "continually flowing" is significant and does not match the trickle of seasonal water in Wadi Tayyib Al-Ism. The phrase "fountain of the Red Sea" and "Fountain of all Righteousness" is also highly significant and also does not match the location presented in this video.
    The journey between Cairo and Suez has been documented to be a 3 day journey by camel caravan. This was documented by the explorer Carsten Niebuhr. He did the journey in 3 days and said in his book that Suez needed supplies brought from Cairo "3 days distant". When he returned to Europe, he updated the maps and asked the map maker to add the words "3 days journey" on the actual map between The Nile River and The Red Sea. Look at the map if you think I'm nuts.
    Lehi's "River Camp", where he built the "Altar to the Lord" is on the Nile River and has been located. The ruins of the altar are visible today to anyone that wants to go there. There are the ruins of a Jewish Temple on Elephantine Island on the Nile River that date to 600 BC. Experts and scholars ask "Who originally built this?" The Book of Mormon tells us who, Lehi.
    If that's not enough, listen to this. There used to be a discussion about Sariah being a mans name and not a name for a women. This has been refuted by a papyri and a pottery shard with the phrase "Sariah daughter of" being discovered. Where was this discovered? Elephantine Island of course.
    Lehi uses symbolism concerning the River. He names it after his son Laman. He says it flows into the fountain of all righteousness which is used throughout the Book of Mormon as symbolism for Christ. The angel of the Lord uses the same river as symbolism for the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Life. The angel also uses the river as symbolism for the destruction of the Nephites in 400 AD. None of this applies to the trickle in Wadi Tayyib Al-Ism. It can all be logically applied to the Nile River. Lehi's journey through the wilderness was along the Nile River, upstream to Ethiopia.

      if Lehi and everybody journeyed down the Nile River, how did they get across the Red Sea to NHM and Bountiful?

    • @redfightblue
      @redfightblue 2 года назад +1

      @@scottcox503Right... So... If all the evidence I showed above supports a migration through Africa, not Arabia. It would be logical that Shazer, Nahom and Bountiful are in Africa.
      Ancient Ethiopian travelers have recorded the journey from Egypt to Ethiopia as journeying up the Nile and then East. The Eastward turn is the critical convergence of the White and Blue Nile Rivers. Ethiopia lies on the Blue Nile, the Eastward branch of the Nile. An example of this is recorded in The Kebra Negast as the Queen of Sheba journeys to Israel and back to Ethiopia. Her son (fathered by King Solomon), Menelik takes the same journey.
      I understand that you believe strongly that Nahom has been found in Arabia. After researching Africa for many, many years, I find the journey up the Nile River far more compelling and the evidence for Nahom lacking.
      First, it explains The Vision of The Tree of Life. Lehi was following a literal road map up the Nile River to the Biblical Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. It's a fundamental belief of Ethiopians that the Garden of Eden is Ethiopia and that's where Genesis happened. Ethiopia is a fertile highland of Africa with moderate temperatures year round.
      The Tree of Life vision can be dissected for a lifetime showing more and more connections to Africa. For example, Isaiah and Jeremiah discuss Egypt at length and warn Jews about falling into Egyptian Idolatry. These themes are clearly mimicked in the Tree of Life Vision and describe the danger Lehi faced when passing through Egypt. Many fell onto "forbidden paths" and we know "Egypt signifies that which is forbidden" Abraham 1:23.
      The Bible specifically states one of the rivers of Eden is The Gihon in Ethiopia. It's illogical to think this river is anything other than the Blue Nile. The debate over Eden rages on but The Bible is also very generous to Ethiopia concerning the wealth of The Queen of Sheba who lives in Ethiopia. This seems to be more evidence for Lehi's Bountiful.
      So, the way I see it. The Vision of The Tree of Life is a critical element in Lehi's journey when examined carefully provides mountains of support for Lehi traveling to Ethiopia. The idea that Lehi journeyed through Arabia is dubious at best.
      Let me ask you this. Have you ever examined Omar's journey in Ether?

      There is very little on the internet or published about my theory. I have it all in my head LOL.
      There is an Ethiopian man named Embaye Melekin that has published on this topic. He has the knowledge of Ethiopia but lacks the intimate knowledge of the Book of Mormon. I'm the opposite, I'm learning about Ethiopia. I never even knew Jews went to Ethiopia in 600 BC. Now I know a lot.
      I have mountains of evidence that the Book of Mormon took place in Ethiopia and not America.
      I can talk about it for days. Anyone that takes the time to listen to me is convinced. There's no evidence for Jews in Ancient America. All the evidence is in Ethiopia.
      I can explain Lehi's sailing journey, where he went and when. It's in Herodotus Book 4, Chapter 40-42.
      I can explain Lehi's journey through the wilderness and why the Tree of Life vision is a guide and a road map to Ethiopia.
      I can compare Jeremiah 44 to Helaman 3 and prove "Desolation" is in Egypt.
      I can prove Alma went to the Middle East and Arabia. The Zeezrom from Ammonihah is a Zamzummim from Ammon you can read about in Deuteronomy 2:20.
      This connection is possible once you realize Alma's "3 day journey" to the North is the opposite of Lehi's "3 day journey" to the South.
      The "3 day journey" represents entering (or leaving) Africa. Even the Children of Israel used it when they were in bondage in Egypt.
      Anyway, maybe ask me a question and I'll answer it.

    I've often been bothered by this false reading in the Book of Mormon.
    In the Book of Mormon, in the heading of first Nephi, it says, "He taketh three days’ journey into the wilderness with his family;" not, 'He taketh two week's journey into the wilderness with his family.' The text doesn't support the idea that the Valley of Lemuel is two weeks and three days away. It's a false read of the text to assume this. 2 Nephi 2:5 is a summary verse. They have these types of verses throughout the whole Book of Mormon. 2 Nephi 2:6 supports the heading of the book to reiterate that they only traveled 3 days from Jerusalem before they pitched their tent in the Valley of Lemuel.
    The valley and river suggested in the video are way too far south to be the actual valley and river that they stayed near during that first period, if they traveled on foot. It is, however, a three day journey from Jerusalem if they were traveling by camel. We do know that Lehi was rich enough to be able to afford a faster method of travel.
    The valley suggested in this video is a valid and likely possibility for where Lehi pitched his tent after only 3 days of total travel time.

    • @redfightblue
      @redfightblue Год назад +2

      The 3 day journey represents entering Egypt. Nephi used this exact phrase because the Children of Israel used it when they prayed the Pharaoh would release them out of Egypt. Getting out of Egypt was a 3 day journey for them. They lived on the Nile River in Egypt and the 3 day journey was to the Red Sea. Arriving at the Red Sea represented escaping Egypt. Exodus 3:18
      In the BOM, Nephi says they arrived at the Red Sea and then went 3 days to a continually flowing river, 1 Nephi 2:5-6. This, of course, is the Nile River. This journey, into Egypt, was the opposite journey the children of Israel took out of Egypt. There are no other continually flowing rivers anywhere near the Red Sea and certainly not within 3 days travel. Nephi frequently mentions Moses and the Children of Israel which reflects his awareness of their journey into Egypt.
      The journey into Israel was extremely controversial and warned against by Jeremiah. This is probably why Laman and Lemuel were upset. They believed their father had ignored Jeremiah and lead them into danger in Egypt. Of course staying in Israel was also dangerous as the Babylonians eventually sack Jerusalem. Even Jeremiah eventually fled to Egypt.
      The Dutch explorer Carsten Niebuhr states in his book that he left Cairo on Aug 28th and arrived at Suez on the Red Sea on Aug 30th. Later he states supplies come from Cairo which is "3 days distant". This shows a camel caravan journey from the Nile to the Red Sea is in fact, a 3 day journey just as Nephi said it was. Later the map of Arabia was updated with a line between the Nile River and the Red Sea with the words "3 days journey" right there on the map.

There are two ways: block a commenter, or _hide_ their comments.
