This is why I consider your reviews so good: you experiment with new products, trying to get the best out of all of them and give us real experience with lots of tips how to make our experience perfect. Thank you so much for this, Michele! :)
How do these compare to the prismatique eyes particularly the purple and blue shades? I like duo chrome and shiny over sparkly glitter if u know what I mean and so hard to tell on videos. I don’t have any counter near me to test out however as live on Kauai so have order online sight unseen. Thanks!!
Pat McGrath Party Shadows. OMG why have I never heard you call them that before!!! I love it!!!! I've only ever heard people calling them the Special Shades so I figured that's just what we were calling them now. But PARTY shadows!!!!! YES!!! I LOVE IT!!!! Thank you, Michele! You just put a smile on my face when this weekend was so busy I was working from Fri 5 am to Sunday 6 pm without going home once. People dont pass away from 9 to 5 and sometimes it's just one after the other. And sometimes very sad and taxing. No one realizes that it really is the tiny things that can perk you right up!
Oh yesssss Dark Matter all the way... I think the swatches looked better alone than on the light matter as you could just use your concealer but Dark mmmmmm!!!
Good morning Michele🥰. Can you please stop looking so beautiful this early in the day 😱. I think the blue eye is my favorite, but just by a tad. This is why you have all of us drooling daily, your beauty shines from the inside out. Love you 💕💕💕
WOW! So pretty and extraordinary! I am going to London next week and can't wait to rush to a Surratt counter! Any recommendation which product I HAVE to get (besides the Dew Drop foundation)?
Gorgeous shades. I make sure to check out your swatches before purchasing because online swatches are rarely the true color of the product. Thank you for the great detail/info on these. :)
when i took hydrogeology, my professor told us that 1 gram of kaolin clay has the surface area of a football field (to attach water molecules to)-- whenever you talk about how you're sensitive to it, I'm reminded of that haha- makes sense! *-* love seeing new surratt!!
I’m def going to get this!! Thank you ! If you have a chance or whenever you slide by it if you still have it. Will the Polar Ice shadows dupe any of these? Trying not to purchase ALL of these! Lol
The Polar Ice shadows are like a thicker creamy texture and are crumbly with the danger of fallout. Very diff formula. And the effect is a little chunkier too.
Great tutorial! I also watched your Sisley mono shadow reviews and have swatched those in store. It seems as if some of the colors end up being similar to the Surratt shadows applied over the dark base. I feel like Surratt is two steps for a similar result and wondered if you could compare the two?
In an industry overflowing with the same boring, uninspired products being launched every single day, Troy Surratt's line is a breath of fresh air. His products are creatively curated and innovative and he's remained true to his aesthetic. I've followed his career for years, from his early days as Kevyn Aucoin's assistant to launching Surratt Beauty, and I've always found Troy's work and brand to be on another level. These shadows are so pretty and you've convinced me that I need at least a few!!
Michele, your hair looks stunning recently. It's so nourished and silky. Did I miss something? I'll go back to the older videos. I hope you did some hair video. I love your makeup. I haven't tried anything from Surratt. To be honest I'm struggling to keep up with the new releases. xoxo
Thank you so much Angela!! I've been using the same stuff on my hair forever - in fact, I talk about it in today's Beautylish video. Oribe shampoo conditioner, sisley scalp serum, oribe heat shield. That's it. xoxo
So it sounds like the base colors are a good buy since they have a good texture and will “hold” color well? These are so so beautiful. Wish I felt like this look more often to justify buying these.
When I trained as a beauty therapist, many moons ago - surprising I learn more here about make up- anyway, I digress. We worked mainly on skin, face and body. We used to make kaolin masks for oily skin and it was great for that - so your right , can be drying but great sweat proof ingredient for oily ladies 👍🏻
BLESSED VIDEO! I have these on my Christmas-To-Me wishlist and you are helping me narrow down the ones I want, and I LOVE that you showed other shadows on top of that Dark Matter! I want to get it but I'm hoping that it can work with shadows other than the Surratt - doesn't look like it, but I'm curious what the Pat McGrath toppers would look like on top since they're super potent and duochrome. The Dark Matter seems like it brings out the best in shifting, scintillating shadows that are meant to add extra oomph so I'm going to be fingerpainting when I get my Surratt order. Did you try placing the Dark Matter with a finger rather than a brush? If so, what was your experience with it?
If the Surratt bases don't work with other shadows, like PMG's, you could try the NYX jumbo eye pencil in Bean, a black cream base in stick form, and I think NYX has a potted black eye base as well. You could also use a black gel potted liner as a base. I've seen MUA do that
Thank you so much for featuring these! I wanted to purchase them but didn’t know what they would really look like in person lol Thank goodness you explain the light matter, dark matter bases lol I think I’ll try the blue and silver one, the blue looked beautiful on you 💙
@@zoegrant658 check out their website for the details, but it's basically that you get $20 back for every $100 you spend. In the form of a gift card that you can use later. It starts on Tuesday I think.
WE need to get Mich to 100k...keep sharing , liking and giving a "thumbs up" on all her videos!!! She deserves it so much!! One of the best luxury beauty reviews (AND HONEST) on YT!!
Yay! Clicked on this so quickly. These eyeshadows look like magic! I was wondering, could the holographic shadows work on another dark cream base? And what is the difference between these and the prismatique eyes? Thank you for the video :)
Hi Michele, I wonder if you used an actual concealer or eye primer under the shadow with the Kaolin, that it would help your sensitivity? Acting like a barrier? You've probably already thought of that! I love these shadows on you, I especially like the shadows on your right eye. But, both are very pretty! thank you for showing us these beautiful products. Add to list!! Take care, Ginny 😘😘😘
Your reviews are my favorite ever. I had been considering picking up ND metropolis but now that I see these....not that they’re at all similar, just trying to not go overboard.
Thank you for the video! Surratt is the brand that I want to LOVE so much but every time I buy something from them, I end up not really using it at the end. I think they are designed for makeup artists and for photo shoots. I bought one of his lid laquers, I never really use it because I almost find it impossible to wear it with mascara. I have some lipglosses - nothing special and VERY sticky. I have 2 of the Torche Lumieres - they are ok but not my favorite highlighters. I have one of the Rouge Batons - hardly ever use it. I want their new foundation so bad, but I am just wondering if I would like it. I just don't get the hype and especially the price tag. I won't buy these hologram eyeshadows, it is nothing that indie brands haven't done before for less money.
A lot of his line leans very editorial but Surratt's blushes are beautiful, Cantaloupe is my favorite. I have very fair, cool toned skin and I usually wear nude, dusty rose or cool toned pink blush but Cantaloupe is such a beautiful melon that I bought it after one swatch. I apply it lightly with a duofiber brush, it blends itself and no other blush I've ever worn has brought me more compliments!
I love both their old and new foundation. My skin has changed- drying and aging- a little more in the past year or so. No foundations were looking great but the new Surrat dew one is fabulous!
Whyyyyyy do I keep torturing myself watching your videos? Surratt is now carried by my local salon, and guess where I’m going tonight!? Let’s see if I can resist purchasing some of these....

The Prismatique are more like toppers over a creamier base. They're not as bright as these.
They look beautiful. Have you tried them over PMG’s dark matter? I’m wondering if the halographic thing works over other dark powder shadows?
Just received Dark Matter and Celestial. Gorgeous formula and color. I’m in love! 💖. Thank you for your thorough and fun reviews!
Thanks so much!!

Yes they are very unique and amazing shades. Perfect for the holiday season.

Wow- what a fun idea- love the no fallout! And the looks you got.. gorgeous!!!!!!! Really love the green/yellow side!
Thanks Laura!! xoxo
These shadows are so unique. Thank you for your thorough discussion, review and your thinking about each shadow.
WOW! So pretty and extraordinary! I am going to London next week and can't wait to rush to a Surratt counter! Any recommendation which product I HAVE to get (besides the Dew Drop foundation)?
Try all the lip products - they're amazing. And of course the blushes and eyeshadows. It's all so special. Hard to say!!
They are gorgeous!
Thank you for your review. I think Pat Mcgrath shifting shadows in her motherships pallets would work great with dark matter
I saw these on the website and I almost screamed because they look so stunning. I am thinking about picking se of these up
You look beautiful and I’m loving your grey hair!
Michelle if I were to buy one Sonia G brush, what is the first one I should buy? For eyeshadow? The builder pro? I’d prefer a blender brush. Xo
Check out today's video, but I'd go with Blender Pro!
Excellent review. Thank you for such a great description of each shadow. Love the shadows over the dark matter. These are gorgeous on your eyes.
Thanks Brenda! xoxo
What a cool idea with the Surrat shadows . Thanks always for reviewing new and good products
These look so beautiful & very unique! Definitely worth looking at. Thank you for the review!
Unbelievably beautiful. Great review, Michele. Very descriptive and I get the gist of this formula perfectly!
Gorgeous shades. I make sure to check out your swatches before purchasing because online swatches are rarely the true color of the product. Thank you for the great detail/info on these. :)
Thank you!!
Love the dark base with the shadow toppers. So pretty!!
They are so gorgeous!!! Gentle, but with Dark Matter - magical!!! Ultra violet is breathtaking! Amazing eyeshadows and so great video!!!
Thank you Tanja!! They’re really beautiful!

Oh wow!! That's crazy!!
🤔
Hi Michelle! Have you seen the exclusive Supernova shade on Surratt’s website? Very interesting and beautiful!!
I think I may need to get that one. It's amazing!
Great swatching and demos. Love watching you use new things for us. 😘
Thanks Hilda!

I couldn't agree more. Troy is a visionary.
This reminds me of the luxury version of what TooFaced did last year with their Glitter palette.
Theses eyeshadows are stunning.

I was wanting to know how these work ! I’m so glad you did this. Also curious over the base’s. Yes. Great review Michele. Love it. Interesting

Do you think using natural hair eyebrushes makes a difference?
--i saw these at neimans last week---i had no idea. so cool!! i need to go back and take a look. dark matter is so cool. love this concept.
Love your two-tone eyes😘😘
Thank you Candice!
Your makeup looks super
What a fun idea! Love it. Thank you for the review.

Hi Michele, sorry where do you get magnets from?
I purchased them from Camera Ready Cosmetics 😃
I was waiting like crazy for this review to come. Really wanted to see these shadows in action. Thanks
Thank you for watching!

Oh Michele, I was thinking was there any similarity between this dark matter and the Lid Lacquer in Pika Pika?? Thank you :)))
I’ve been waiting for this one. Thank you! I have three in my Beautylish cart now.
🎉 don’t forget to sign up to get notified for their gift card event!
Did when I first got the email 💫
I feel like those with a deep skin tone will get a better color switch effect with the light matter base.
Yes I think so!
You look very pretty my dear ❤️💕🦋

You should go bold more often. These colors look great on you!
Hey Michele 💖 these shadows are just beautiful. I don’t know why I don’t purchase more Suratt. I need to fix that 😂 Thanks for the review ~ Charli

That Mukbang with Cate The Great was a lot of fun to see. You two have to do it again. Please.
