I’m sure I’m in the minority but I don’t love these Surratt eyeshadows. I have a dozen, including some of each formula, and I’ve never been happy with the looks - some are too sheer for my taste. Thanks for the review!
@@Jbal8924 thanks Julie! Some shades are very sheer. There are a few that are more pigmented but I agree that it is a certain style that isn't for everyone.
Really appreciate you honestly and down to earth quality. I also liked both eye looks, potencial for both 1 & 3 being stunning. I am very interested in Troy Surratt's work and I think you did a great job of explaining the principles and special qualities of these eye-shadows, thank you.
Thank you so much!! That means so much to me! Troy Surratt is incredible and I know I can never truly do his brand justice but I am glad that this was helpful!
This morning I watched suzana torres using surrat quad ,it has a cool formula, I love the monochrome blue eyeshadow, I want to hear more news from surrat .I enjoyed this video, its clearly explained by using black as base all the colors look gorgeous, thank you for sharing your thoughts.
@@LexiJong yes was going to do first impressions video on it but one thing and another you know what it’s like so I’m using it and it’s ace... works great on my short lashes , we were all like what the hell never seen a wand like it before it’s very strange but it works lol xxx
I have struggles with that Supernova shade creasing also. Will keep trying all of my primers because I really want that look with plum base seen through the green sparkle. I need to try Anastasia primer, it is pretty dry. Or .... I will use it over the black shades from Scott Barnes Mersmerize pallette. I did swatches over them and they look incredible together. I wanted to buy separate black base from Surratt while watching you but - realized I already have it 😆
This was amazing 🤩! This felt like you read my mind, (again)as I have been thinking about Surratt shadows. This collection of colors would work with so many things I already have, and at the same time would add a new dimension for using the colors in different combinations. I find that I gravitate towards cream products and your reviews are very helpful as there is no Surratt counter any where near me. Thanks Lexi
Thank you for doing this video! I was on the fence, but decided to get Supernova. I used their 20% off as well, so it brought it to a more reasonable price. Surratt is nice, but not that nice IMO for what they ask full price. A lot of time my skin color acts as a base in and of itself, so I am curious to see how they look on me.
@@LexiJong Unfortunately the Halogram shades gave me an allergic reaction or caused irritation, I am not sure, so I won't be putting them on my eyes again. TBH I didn't like them much, but that experience has certainly biased me. Surratt was great and gave me a refund for the palette. My guess is that the shades are just way too gritty to work on my eyes. Like you said the texture is between a cream and powder, which makes application oddly patchy. With a PMG shades, it glides on easily, but with these shades the moving and blending sort of rubs in that texture and causes irritation, at least for me, but I have sensitive eyes. They did tell me to keep the products, so I will keep Noir le Plus Noir, which is quite lovely, and the case for potential future filling. The rest is going in the bin most likely.
@@lauramiller5877 i ordered from kgd before it was available at Beautylish. I think the storms have affected shipping time because this is longer than usual. It has been over a week already. Tracking now says Monday so hopefully it won’t change again.
Lexi Jong oh I forget about the direct site! I’m in the UK so can only access from Beautylish. That’s not good re the storms, hopefully things improve x
I love this video. Seeing the hologram shades on the dark base is amazing. If you have the drop foundation would you demo it for us? Or maybe a video comparing some high end foundations? I have the cle de peau and the SUQQU in the tubs and both are beautiful, but I think I prefer the look of the cle de peau.
Sure I would be happy to demo the dew drop foundation. I know I have used it before but I can't think of which videos feature it - probably a Surratt GRWM. I will plan on doing a new Surratt GRWM soon with some more new items I have and I will use the dew drop. There are some new foundations coming out very soon so I will have another foundation roundup after they release so that probably won't be until the end of March. I have swatched my dew drop in my previous foundation roundup video if you are curious about the shade. I have 1.5.
I have a surratt palette in my cart at this moment and it’s on sale and I have a 25% off 🤦🏻♀️ I feel the lightest one looks a lot like Chantecaille Spring on their website. The Supernova palette is gorgeous!
The supernova i think is better than the cosmos. It has three halograms instead of two so it is inherently a better deal and the supernova shade is very unique! I have heard great things about beyond beige also but i don’t have those colors yet.
Oh these shadows look incredible. Can you tell what is the best brush to be used with halogram shadows. Now you made me want to purchase the green one 😍💕
I think any flat shader style that is undyed goat hair or synthetic works well and is safe for the bristles. I always gravitate to the Sonia G Soft Shader or Worker Pro because they aren't too fluffy and are undyed goat hair.
I think it’s the first time you’re swatching Supernova! I purchased it around last year, but it’s in US at my friends’ place. Due to COVID she hasn’t been able to come here in Europe yet... I hope to see her and my eyeshadow soon. Apparently there’s no way to get this shade outside US
Yes you are right! I just recently bought it before they released these palettes so this was my first time even touching it! I hope you can get it soon. Hopefully Surratt will make it available more widely or perhaps start shipping internationally themselves. It is such a special shade!
The supernova is pretty but too dark for me. Conversely, the lighter quad is too monotone and neutral. I love my Surratt brushes but I have yet to try Surratt makeup. It’s not available at my local Sephora.I would have to see it in person before buying. Thank you for the video.
Thanks Jocelyne. The Surratt shadows are just starting to make their way into department stores here (online at least) so it will probably be a while before they are in store. I know my Sephoras do not carry them in store either.
I actually use an adept cosmetics palette (the adept palette) but just to isolate those I used the back of a penzey's magnet to show the "quads" better.
Are you interested in seeing more Surratt eyeshadow palette combinations?

Hello Lexi. The swatches comparissons was beautiful, specially the ones made in the back of your hand. Surrat reviews are always appreciated. Ida
Thanks Ida! I am glad the swatches were helpful. These halograms are so much more special in person.
This was so helpful for current Black Friday specials!
I am so glad to hear that! It's a great sale!
