In first edition, it is said that Elminister and Volo met Ed Greenwood in an extradimensional plane. It was there he received the lore of Forgotten Realms.
Love that Ed Greenwood is on RUclips now. His videos really are awesome. And I fondly him really enjoyable to listen to. He’s got a cool voice and good sense of humor
Enjoyed your video. Something interesting that very few would know is that it shows how Cyric was able to murder Mystra towards the end of the Empyeran Odyssey trilogy. Very interesting series of books, to say the least.
At 7:24 mark, he is a construct, i got really suspicious that there was a random wizard there, and used the cursor to inspect him befire I approached. It said he was a construct (i dont remember if I noticed his level), and I was even more suspicious, but I still talked with him to see what would happen lol.
Nicely narrated video. I feel like DnD relies quite a bit on you already knowing who these characters are. So biography videos like yours are helpful to the newly initiated!
Glad you enjoyed it! I have to admit, that Baldur's Gate has to make the best out of a situation where many players already know a lot (from years of DnD or old BG games) and a lot get into the matter for the first time. I actually think they do it quite well. Still, good to be of service!
elminster confuses me, how tf is a simple* mage that doesnt dabble in any sort of heroic mc activism or dark magic so damn old.he IS a human right, and not some long forgotten deity nobody talks about? also on that note: how the hecc is volo still alive
Being horrible or useless at music and arithmetic doesn’t match well with the statement of him being incredibly intelligent though. But I guess he’s just very apt at forms of intelligence not associated with those things? Of which you can say there are many, but anyways… I still find it somewhat weird

Thank you! Glad you liked the video!
Cyric is a beast that would deserve his own video haha.
Eliminster is just the man who I am contractually obligated to kill in every baldur’s gate game I play

gasp! it's royalty free gandalf!

Volo was blessed by either elminster or mystra. Another fun fact, he's not a bard but just an incompetent wizard that talks a lot.
It's funny if you examine Elminster in BG3 it does say construct.
Makes sense!
great video!!
Thank you!!
Grandpa GMPC.

an old man look like gandalf you knew is extremely strong 😅
The power of tropes XD
