Thanks David. Very interesting. Will watch as you progress. Not entirely sure what the key gives you access to. Never seen anywhere where you need a key. Although my experience isn’t that vast with LPG fill ups. Only done it 3 times and all at the same garage. Thanks for posting David 👍🧙‍♂️

Thanks for the comment 👍 I got the key as there’s a station not too far away which needs the key to use the LPG pump so thought it would be handy and noted that there seems to be less LPG stations than there was so more of a contingency and the price was cheaper per litre than the next closest. My theory was the age old, if you have a key you will probably not use it much but if you don’t have one, the time you’ve run out of LPG and need some the station will need a key - always happens to me so kind of a plan B thing 😀

Interesting video David, i had planned on getting a soloniod gas valve for my CV80 when it arrives.Very suprised they are not fitted as standard, saves clambering under the van! and if hooked up to the ignition no chance of forgetting to turn it off.

Thank you - couldn’t agree more - it’s relatively straightforward and not overly expensive in the grand scheme of things and I think keeps you safe by shutting the gas off when it shouldn’t be on without any real effort once installed. 👍

I’ve seen many RUclips videos on vans using the channel tunnel, all are asked to turn the gas off, for normal in locker tanks, not a problem,.but underslung tanks, I always wondered how this is done, do you have to get under van to turn it off, this solenoid does the job, yes? would it be ok in the tunnel?

It’s a really good question with regard to the tunnel (or indeed anywhere else which insists on switching off. If you purchase the gas tanks from GasIT to fit you can get manual or electric shut off - the valve here simply upgrades it to electric (with the control switches etc to complete the setup) when the solenoid isn’t powered the tank is closed, when it’s powered it’s open so it’s really switching the tank off (same as a manual tap but without needing to get under the van) so I would expect that would be ok but can’t be sure without checking but it definitely switches the gas off when it’s off without crawling under the van.
