For those in the east coast, university of Maryland’s Nurse anesthetist program tuition is a little over $73,000 in total. You can work for them after as a new grad with great benefits and job security.

Thank you for talking about debt! That is one of my top concerns, among others. My goal would be to pay back loans as quickly as possible within reason. Keep the videos coming! I just recently stumbled across the podcast series and I love it!

Thank you very much for sharing your personal experience and sharing some experiences of others as well. This was really helpful in helping me visualize a reasonable amount of debt. What are your thoughts on the value of the DNP program at Emory? Quite prestigious institution, but tuition alone around 180K... I believe the inaugural DNP class is set to graduate this year, so data regarding attrition/first time test taking pass rate/clinical sites and range of experiences aren't available yet (unless I'm wrong?).

Melissa Le oh boy... 180k just for tuition? Yikes.... that is hard to swallow.... I think if you have a good savings that you think you will not have to take out much to live on that would be okay... but I’d be careful if it meant going over 250k in debt... that would take some life style sacrifices in the first 4-5 years post graduation to get paid off if you had 250k+ of student loans

Melissa Le I unfortunately don’t know much about that program and attrition rate... hopefully after this first class graduates you will have a number to go by... I doubt it will change much just because they are DNP... if they had good rates before I am sure they still will

I.C.U. Dreaming About Anesthesia Thanks for weighing in.. I don’t currently have debt and live frugally but I am hesitant to go all out with very expensive schools. It is encouraging to hear that people who live low consumption lifestyles after graduating are usually able to pay off ~150K within years

Question: Can you use your student loans to live off of?
Question: Can you get away with working 2 days a month Per diem while in CRNA school?
