To the Russians is well known but they do not practice it so much. The time these people spent on that deep squat position can easily be over one hour. I have seen them doing it at my neighborhood in Greece. I have visited all Slavic countries. Slavs do not sit like that. Is an Asiatic habit...nomadic, lack of chairs.

Did he teach the same idea for the clean? As in, you shouldnt jump, but more slide your feet to the side?
Even though he did not teach it directly or use any drills/ques for it, as i remember its the same principle in the clean, yes.
It's never a jump, I don't know where people get the idea. The plantar flexion is minor, you just lift up your heels and move your feet laterally.
@@343298918 people obviously get the idea from numerous (mainly slavic) athletes who lift their feet during the drop so much that it looks like a jump
