@@HarriBestReactions Sir Harri, your show is the highlight of anyone's week. I play your songs when I'm getting ready to go out, and when I come in. Thank you for a superlative channel.
In all this time since the Beatles began and in a short 8 years changed the world along with music still their genius rings true and new generations find their music relevant and appealing. That says a lot. The world today really lacks artists of this caliber.
Thank you for your reactions, Harri. There are many Beatles reactions going on these days, and the majority are of post-Sgt Peppers songs. I think that perhaps those new to The Beatles have the impression that the later years must have been the "peak" of their song quality. What they fail to realize is that The Beatles became a sensation through these earlier recordings. You, my friend, are exploring these to your credit. It was music from "Meet The Beatles" through "Revolver" - the Beatlemania era - that made The Beatles the most popular band on the planet, and household names of John, Paul, George and Ringo. There is gold found in every album that The Beatles put out, but it was the songs from these earlier albums that cemented the popularity of The Beatles.
Both songs, "If I Fell" and "And I Love Her" are two of the prettiest songs ever written and sung! I heard someone say once, the Beatles created some of the 'sweetest' melodies ever written!
one of my fav songs of theirs found out that Paul had heard another group and wanted to write a song like they did that wonderful classical guitar that George played just made this song for me
When you listen to the Beatles over the years you do get the impression that they were trying to go one better over each other, and that may well be why they were the best band ever.
Another you will like is "I've Just Seen a Face" from Help! Album. And of course "Yesterday". For something completely different, check out "Tomorrow Never Knows" from Revolver.
Harri, I am so pleased to see you listened to my advice and reacted to this song! Seriously though, I know many others suggested this one as well, but I did recommend it way back when I first heard you reacting to The Beatles so i am going to take credit, at least in my own house! Not only are you one of the really great music reactors on RUclips, but you are both willing to react to the early hits by the band, and your thoughts and comments are so heart felt and deeply appreciative of the great music you are listening to. Here's something to chew on - John and Paul wrote If I Fell and And I Love Her for the Hard Day's Night film when they were 23 and 21 respectively! Amazing the genius of all the members of that band! The world will never see their likes again!

What a beautiful gift for Easter Sunday morning. As you get further and further through the Beatles catalogue, you stop declaring any song is a favourite.... because there are so many favourites :-)
The best part about your channel is how you bring us all back to live within the best music group, ever. those of us that are old enough and lucky enough to know their music from the beginning appreciate you. Thank you for letting us hear it all again from the perspective of somebody hearing it for the first time.
I love this one, and i think George Harrison was only a teenager when he made up that little riff at the beginning and end of each verse, that makes it so good.
A complex song. The Beatles , particularly George, knew and understood music theory. They didn’t know the terms, but they knew in their souls what was rare precious and beautiful.
One peculiar feature of Lennon/McCartney harmonies is that they did not attempt to synchronize every aspect. Not Beach Boys or Bee Gees or a barber shop quartet. You could hear one of them start a phrase a tenth of a second before the other one. You could hear them attack notes differently.
I believe you've already done the Beatles song with the twist at the end. "Norwegian Wood" in which John and Paul asked each other "what shall we do next?" and the obvious answer was "Burn down her flat." LOL!
At first they tried it with electric guitar and drums. It just didn't work. So they switched to acoustic guitar, bongos and claves. It's so simple but unforgettable.
If you really liked this i recommend another underrated classic by Lennon himself called - Oh My Love! If THIS gives you this mellow melancholia feeling, then i just listen to THAT track! LOL
I was one of those people encouraging you to do a reaction to AND I LOVE HER. I also enjoy playing this song on the acoustic guitar. I don't know if you noticed it but the song modulates to a different key in the middle of the song. Another beautiful song you should react to that is another great song to play on acoustic guitar is I'LL BE BACK.
Paul could not think of a intro for this song. George stepped in and gave Paul the guitar intro. Paul said it would have just been another song without George guitar playing. The guitar playing makes it a classic
I hope you stay with the A Hard Days Night soundtrack - some of their best "early" Beatles songs. The title track and Can't Buy Me Love are big rockers.
Love is melancholy. When you fall in love your biggest fear is losing it-be it another or by tragedy-your mind plays tricks either way-this song has that inherent tension of losing love. I’ve heard it a million times, you your first but the reactions are about the same. Glad you enjoyed and totally appreciate your comments. They’re spot on.
It's called a "Picardy third" and was common practice in the Renaissance era in choral music, in hymns and madrigals (Claudio Monteverdi and Paul Gerhardt, to name two eminent representatives). It symbolizes relief after grief and somberness, and it expresses consolation. Beautifully used in this context. Another stylistic device they use here, is the chromatic shift from F minor to F# minor , beginning with the guitar solo and throughout the last verse. So the song startes out in F minor and ends up in F# major due to the Picardy third.
Harri, from here, you will want to go to "Things We Said Today" (Paul) and "I'll Be Back" (John) on this same A HARD DAY'S NIGHT album. Makes a great pair of double bookends with "If I Fell" and "And I Love Her." :)
Another beautiful one for sure!!! Hey Hari. Along with the Muscle Shoals documentary, check out The Wrecking Crew documentary!! Both will fill in soooo many gaps in understanding some background on US music from the 60-70s
My dad hated the Beatles until he heard this song...and then he never said another bad word about them. It's deceptively simple, but so beautiful.

The guitar is a nylon string guitar, which has a softer sound than one with steel strings.
And not to forget that the last verse is shifted up a half step from F minor to F# minor, beginning with the solo.

LOL
Check out their calypso sounding song, "Mr. Moonlight"
This song is from their MOVIE _A Hard Day's NIght,_ and it receives a wonderful presentation in that film!
This Boy is good from this album. Full On Harmonies.
If you haven't seen the movie A Hard Day's Night, you should check it out. Besides the story line, they do this song and other songs from the period.
I saw the movie recently on Turner Classic Movie channel. The channel has shown it twice that I caught in the past couple years.
Speaking of melancholy, I find this song depressing, but the shift from F# minor to G minor makes it even more so
Hi Harri it is a beautiful melodic warm tune love the Spanish influences, as always appreciate your feedback 🙏
Ah, but there IS a twist at the end...played throughout in a minor key but ends on a major key. A perfect ending.
What instrument do you play?
@@ralphcordon5688 Thank you for the information; it's pretty amazing how they came up with these effective devices out of sheer intuition, it seems!
George Martin probably contributed a lot to the technical side of their music, particularly early.
@@ralphcordon5688 Where are you getting those keys from? On my piano it goes from C# minor to D minor. Ends on D major.
Happy wonderful Easter, Harri. Blessings to you & your family from me & mine. It is truly a beautiful song.
Nice one Harri, thanks
Harri, from here, you will want to go to "Things We Said Today" (Paul) and "I'll Be Back" (John) on this same A HARD DAY'S NIGHT album. Makes a great pair of double bookends with "If I Fell" and "And I Love Her." :)
Thanks..ill keep them in mind..Not sure when it will upload though..queue of songs😀But i will get there eventually
Another beautiful one for sure!!!
Hey Hari. Along with the Muscle Shoals documentary, check out The Wrecking Crew documentary!! Both will fill in soooo many gaps in understanding some background on US music from the 60-70s
I'd like you to do "for no one". It's one of my favourites and I think it's so beautiful.
Especially that horn / bugel solo in this number. I love it.
You need to hear Till there was you.
You’re right. In the early days it was hard to distinguish the singing voices between Paul and John.
