Ran it out of gas.... Unbelievable! You hire a group of what you think are professionals to fly your historic and irreplaceable aircraft, and they destroy it because they can't be bothered to ensure it has enough fuel.
So sad to see this, but glad for the three crewmen getting out! I volunteered maintenance on her for a couple of years before she was sold to Taigh Ramey in CA, long about 2002-2003. Beautiful aircraft and sure hope she can be salvaged - gonna be costly!
This is probably the most epic crash site video I have seen on the internet in general with the music and camera angles. Great job, I think they got lucky as to the field. It was freshly combined and it looks like it just floated there.
It went over the drainage ditch and caused extensive damage to the airframe. It's really too bad as it looks like the damage would have been minimal if not for the ditch.
Just saw this on my Local News here in NY where she flies from. So Sad to hear and see. Saw her in person doing test flights earlier this year, looked so beautiful in flight. It's a Testament to the airframe and the pilots how relatively in one piece she is. Tough old birds the 25s are.
Last time I saw her at an airshow in 2018 you could tell her right engine had low compression when they shut it down. Just saying, and yes I am an A&P.
I love warbirds, but don’t think we should be flying them anymore. We lose them every year and there aren’t many left. We should make some copies and put the originals in museums.
The music was perfect, the crash wasn't, plane was heavily damaged but is going to be restored, they basically ran outa gas and it cost em big time, but at least the crew survived
@@Singinius Hey there, I'm throwing together an ATC recreation of the incident on my (pretty small) channel. Mind if I use a bit of your footage? Ill give credit and links to your channel or anywhere you'd prefer. Great footage! I tried to get down there myself but never had the chance.
Possibly something went wrong with the fuel system. Both engines cut out at the same time. There where at 1300 ft when they decided to do a gear up landing and ditch. Details are still coming out. Sad
Darth Mortuus Rationem yeah, I wasn’t sure what to expect, she seemed to take it pretty well, except for the engines. I am guessing they were ditching her intentionally due to some malfunction....

Taigh Ramey flew and operated her, but he never owned her. She belongs to the Prescott Foundation.

I chipped a tooth listening to the music, but the visuals were awesome.
Running out of fuel makes the story pathetic .
The music is a little intense for just a drone flyover?
New War Thunder graphics look great!
Good news is that she lays about 5.2 mi from www.bombercamp.org/ so hopefully someone has an interest in getting her flying again.
Any update on here

Will it be restored

What happened was there a malfunction or what.
the musics a bit much.

Would have enjoyed it more without the terrifying zombie music...........
At least the plane didn’t crash like rafe or Danny’s b25
Looks like it they had of cleared the irrigation culvert before touching down she would had less damage and a clear field to slide on.
Bill Berry yeah I heard it was the ditch that did them in and I believe it was then that the motors ripped off.
They cleared the first ditch! Not enough speed to clear the second.

@ yeah, sure, no problem. The footage is available under Creative Commons - attribution required license
How did they lose control of the aircraft?

I went out and saw her yesteday. She's pretty wrinkled-up.
