I won't nitpick considering the quality and effort these guys make to tell these stories. Amazing remaster :).. always great to watch this channel.
However, they mention Franz's bird was a G6. But the model is clearly a E model, evident by the small propeller cover, lack of bulges for the hood armament and the tail linked by cables.

I dint even think its fair to call him a Nazi, just a German pilot. The Nazis were the men who poured there brutal ideology into the hearts of the German people and cartied out Hitlers ideals, like the SS for example amd some of the Wehrmacht. But nit every German was a Nazi but a man fighting for his country.

Had he shot down the Pub and earned that Knight's Cross, Stigler would've been a mere footnote in history, only remembered by historians and the biggest history nerds. By sparing the Pub, he not only did the right thing and saved multiple lives, he cemented his place in history. He'll be remembered as an honorable man who did the right thing, against his training. He found a brother through it, too. RIP to both Brown and Stigler.

6 years after his death, he was also immortalized in a Sabaton song. Also, the crew of the Pub today have 25 descendants. At the first B-17 crew reunion, Stigler was invited. He told Brown that he didn't feel like he should be there since he had been fighting on the other side. One of the Pub crew's descendants outright told him that none of them would even exist if not for his actions, so he belonged there just as much as anyone.
He knew he would have to live with the actions he took that day. So he chose to follow his conscience rather than his orders. I imagine that made his later life a lot easier. He lived to the age of 92.

Of course that's not very feasible for most people, so splitting it into say 2 3-hr movies or 3 2-hr movies would be sufficient too. But a series... Hmm... That allows for more time and building which is honestly very crucial to this particular story. So... Hmmm... Perhaps an hour long episode per book chapter?

Charlie piloting his B-17 and Franz in his 109 providing escort once again and for the last time as they make their final journey to The Great Beyond. I hope Charlie waited for Franz to join him. RIP to both pilots.

Really good read and I highly encourage everyone to read it.

Bomber job is to destroy any military facility, like military base, air base, or weapon production factory, not to bomb the city, its a war crime to bomb a city that had maybe civilian on it, its useless and waste too bombing a city
