They really feel like they’re models and shit. If your actually have a career and can put input in that influences or changes the way people think then your actually an “influencer”. This girl is a poser. People who have disposable income are the only people who should be spending money like this. If your going into being an influencer your living a fake lifestyle making you a fake person.

Girl is probably not gaining a dedicated following because none of these things are authentic. They're not her as a person and it slowly becomes obvious. She's trying to replicate other successful people and not put her own spin on it at all. It's fake and audiences can tell. Additionally, big tick items on social medium are usually the result of PR. Very rarely do these people buy these things themselves and if they do it's cause they actually enjoy the item, not just for a photo.

You are correct! She didn't even care about going Nashville and didn't even do basic research to see that there's more to Nashville than just country music. I know someone who falls in line with being an influencer without really trying to be an influencer with around 1k-2k followers because she posts her authentic self and the things she enjoys like going to see local punk/alternative in Nashville (because there are way more genres here in Nashville than just country). If this girl really wanted to be a really successful influencer, she would be trying to be her authentic self while doing something outside of the box that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Snarkulous congratulations on being so responsible and perfect, but some people have sheltered upbringings and their parents don’t teach them the importance of these things, and they have to learn a hard lesson the hard way. It doesn’t make them a bad person. Materialism is literally engrained into Western society and the fall does not lie on Instagram, it lies in the failure of the people who are supposed to teach these lessons before this happens. contrary to what you might believe it’s not common sense, you and I were taught these things through a series of life lessons that we didn’t get to this point on our own. But I’ve met many responsible adults who, as young adults or teenagers, made stupid mistakes and spent over their limits and ended up in a position like her. maybe not for Instagram but for equally shallow social points in real life. are these comments acting like this is some hideous offense, all this hand wringing is just so over-the-top and people need to get over it

This whole “only wear an outfit once” thing is the result of fast fashion. I used to believe it but you spend on low quality items that you won’t even like next month. The sad thing is many people don't want to admit they have nothing going on with life, that's why they hide themselves behind these Instagram accounts and persona because they're scared to look deep down in themselves and realizes they don't like who they are, or that their isn't much there.
This can be fixed, if we put social media on a shelf and try and learn who we truly are.
I put my phone away and just paint and paint and create art for hours. Because it helps me feel better and making things in a way I can show others how I see things.

Everyone is being so judgemental in the comments, this is the reality for so many instagammers but they’re too afraid to acknowledge. I’m so glad this is out there but wish it had more views! The link between social media and validation is so tough to break, but I hope their new direction of not showing the number of likes helps!

She still seems very happy with herself despite all this. The people interviewing her are just giving her more confidence to do these things by allowing her to have the limelight. Whatever, I’m not the dumb bitch who got herself $10k in debt because people on the internet care are gonna give me a like or follow. There is much more in the world to enjoy than overpriced clothing and trying to look rich when you absolutely are not. I am 22 and have worked up the social working ladder and now am apart of management. This girl needs to worry about her job performance, not as revenue. Have fun digging yourself into unnecessary debt and stress honey bug ✨

I am really tired of the word 'influencer'. It is so presumptuous to think that just because you post on social media you are 'influencing' others thoughts and actions. Most likely, most people reading your post don't care what you think or do and have no need to copy you or consider your opinion at all.

I feel kinda bad that she literally placed all her happiness and career goals completely on what other people thought of her life, how she looked, what "cool" people she hung out with or unique places she traveled to, and how she spent her money on the fanciest of things. She even said she bought a $1,000 Louis Vutton bag just to show it off... she didn't even want it. Her whole goal was just to create envy in people that couldn't buy expensive things or travel like she could... more envy=more followers. It even seems like she didn't enjoy half the stuff she bought or places she traveled to. It just blows my mind how someone can be so obsessed and place their whole self-worth on what people think of her, even though it's completely fabricated. Just knowing that people were looking at her pictures and WISHING they were her was literally her whole drive to keep doing it, no matter how fake it was. So damn narcissistic, but also quite sad.

That is truth for most of luxury RUclipsrs . Instagramers They try to keep up , so go on spending money to buy new bags , shoes and vacations for flashy pictures which shows a flamboyant lifestyle . If you look behind scenes they would be struggling with debt or have absolutely no savings at all since all disposable income is spent completely . I don’t say it is wrong to buy luxury items . I own 2 luxury bags too but I bought them after lot of planning and saving .They don’t impact my life. Buy items you can afford and for yourself to enjoy . Not to just display . Take care of items you buy . I have one bag which is expensive . I put it in a box and dust bag and carefully use it . I know I would use this bag forever . I mean have value for money for which your work hard . Don’t spend just to get others appreciation. No one will help you when you are struggling with money . That was implanted in mind by my parents.

i agree that it was her decision to go in debt and seek validation from other people but aren’t we all living like this? the u.s is literally leading in credit card debt because it’s so normalized in our culture. that’s why it was so easy for her to get in debt! she’ll just be approved easily and spend more!
on top of that, you can’t deny that social media, especially instagram, has influenced our behavior immensely. we post our best pictures and are seeking opportunities for extra income by becoming influencers. i mean…her situation may be more common than we think.
