I always think ... The problem with designers bags is where am I wearing them to? I'm an attorney and I live in Chicago and I still have no place to wear these bags. So ironically I wear the shopping to buy more bags. It had to stop and I'm glad I did.
Ok see that's interesting - I always thought to myself if I lived somewhere more glamorous, like Chicago, then I'll have more opportunity to wear designer bags. But apparently that's not the case either...and I'd be the same! Id only wear them to go buy more bags! 😅
I bought 4 designer bags this year and think I’m at purse peace for a long while! I’m also not comfortable spending over 3K on a bag and don’t want to keep increasing that threshold. I’m good with watching unboxings of people with shopping addictions while I put my money into real investments in the stock market 🤣. Glad I got several staples this year, but I’m tapping out now. These price hikes are not worth it for the value like you said.
Agreed. I always have in mind that the super rich ladies have no shame in buying 1:1 replica either. I dont agree with fake bags but it is interesting that rich ladies dont want to buy the real deal.
I’m shocked how uninterested I’ve become in bags this year. I think part is the price increases. I’ve bought so many at much lower prices that I just can’t justify these new insane prices. I find luxury shopping isn’t a special feeling anymore after going through a period where there was such a frenzy of shopping. I don’t want to stand in lines outside stores. I don’t want to spend money purchasing from companies who play games. I I’m glad the spell on me has been broken. It was all really very wasteful.
I think we're slowly becoming numb/accustom to these prices when really, they make NO sense, why prices for designer handbags have increased at the rate they have, aside from the fact the fashion houses can get away with it. I saw Hermes new Q3 report and even Hermes is not immune to the general slowdown...
I have a KS backpack that I have been using everyday for 4 months. It’s crazy because I have LV bags that I don’t even wear that much. I’m definitely not buying any designer and I am currently selling bags. I think most people watch these videos and want the bags but don’t really think about functionality or their lifestyle.
I used to own only two bags. One from Zara and one from Karl Lagerfeld. I consider it luxury because I paid 400€ for it. Honestly money well spent tho. I wore it almost every day for 3 years. The white tweed is slightly yellow now but everything else is still in shape. From 10.22 I bought several bags and now I feel so empty not waiting for delivery. The more I own the more I want. This video is so easy to understand and a wake up call for me. There’s no last bag to complete the collection. Better to have and to enjoy the ones in present. Most of my newly purchased have not been worn one because they’re not practical for work. I feel so guilty and hope I can recover from this kinda bag addiction 😢
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
I truly resonated with your point about buying/not buying bags based on your actual lifestyle (vs. your dream life gallivanting and traveling with luxury bags). Love this video and your perspective!
Aw thank you so much for the kind words and for watching! It's something I definitely struggle with - especially when I'm grinding through the day and daydreaming/fantasizing about what getting away would be like haha...
Another great video!! Yes I’ve slowed down my handbag frenzy as well. My discretionary income has been allocated towards my sons college tuition. 😂. But in saying that, I feel like I’ve finally opened my eyes and realized it was unsustainable and quite silly for me to keep chasing bags. I have always been into designer bags but I only purchased one or two a year max..and I never really went over $2k per bag. Now when we went into lockdowns and could not travel i went a little overboard. I acquired way too many bags and bought and sold like crazy. I feel like I’m back to my 2019 spending habits, maybe one or two bags a year. And I’ve also put my Hermes journey on hold too, I did get was very fortunate to be offered my Kelly and I want a Birkin now, but I’m putting that on hold indefinitely. As much as I want the Birkin, my world would not end if I never acquired it. After all, these are just bags.😂 Again, another great video!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! the industry really does work in a cycle so its so interesting to see how we all tend to feel the same over time!!!
So nice hearing something relatable about luxury handbags. I have unfollowed people who unbox new stuff all the time and is promoting / romanticise the toxic thought that these things come to people who manage to "attract it" which makes many women wonder what is wrong with them when this manifestation of what they desire does not happen.
I just got the Chanel Classic Flap Caviar in Medium (Black) And wow the price. If you asked me years and years ago if i would spent 10k on a bag i would probably say absolutely NOT. But on the other hand it was my absolute dream bag! And for now im slowing down. ☺️
I was forced to slow down because my disposable income also went down 😅 and as much as I pine over the Kelly I don't think she will bring me $10k worth of happiness, my beat up car which costs way less than 10k provides much more value to enhancing my daily life than a 10k handbag ever could
Right? And in a weird way, I've been looking at the preloved market differently too - all these people, selling their used birkins and kellys, sure, they may be able to recoup some, if not, all of their money back, but at the end of the day, I guess they'd rather have the money than the bag lol! PS. LOVE your videos by the way, thanks for watching! 🥰
Hello! I just found your channel. I am also in higher education and find that I don't have many places to take an expensive bag. I use my Marc Jacobs Tote or Neverfull on the regular to and from campus. I want to buy a Chanel classic flap so badly, but I know that I will probably only wear it once or twice per year (I barely use my YSL Mini Lou bag as it is). New subscriber! I am looking forward to seeing how your channel grows this year.
Same as me. For jewellery, bags my threshold is £2,000. Anything beyond is stupid silly. So to make the most of my budget, I love shopping preloved. I got my Fendi peakaboo is soft leather (amazing condition) for £1,200 🤩
100% agree with you. I’ve moved out of the city so I just don’t have much use for evening bags/novelty pieces anymore. I just stick to my more practical bags without logos. I’m reaching for my Jacquemus and old Balenciaga city bags because they are easy going and durable. I might add something new here or there but otherwise I’m good.
I feel the same. I really wanted a Kelly but realistically it is too much money for me currently and I only go to similar places as you. I've kept my money and just plan on enjoying what I already have.
Unfortunately for me it's what you said.... safety... my husband is always fearful that people will see my bags and follow. I've since purchased uniqlo mini round bags and bring my purses to work or Disneyland. Go figure my bags go to Disneyland, but I feel safest there.
Welp, I’m at the point where I’m selling off a lot of my designer “luxury” bags because honestly, where in the world do I think I’m going to wear them?! I go to work and on weekends, I might get crazy and hit Costco or Home goods. Why in the world do I think I need five luxury crossbody bags and multiple work bags? I’m using my MZ Wallace for work and am trying to whittle down the crossbodies to 2-3. Even that seems excessive tbh. I just don’t use them. Whenever I see a bag or start obsessing, I take a step back and remind myself of my actual reality 😂
I no longer desire to have LV, Chanel, Gucci, YSL and all those high end expensive bags. I'll stick to my small business owned leather handbag makers that are made right in Lancaster County PA and it's high quality and affordable.
Love LYXBAGS the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other RUclipsr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
I have one luxrul bag I got in 2022, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

you’re literally my comfort person i love you kislux !
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
Slowed down and down sized my collection (sold 70%)
I want to USE my handbags
Not having them collect dust not being used 😢

We just get caught up looking and wanting pretty things haha...

I think you're so right "better to enjoy what you have"! I know my dreambags are not practical for me as well, so I totally understand how you feel!
i totally slowed down. i've decided to use my latest handbag until i'm literally sick of it...
I love you so much! I recently just found your kislux and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life

I hope it's everything you hoped it would be 🥰 plus that's the difference though, right? knowing this that "this is enough"!
It’s a beautiful bag. I’m glad I bought mine when I did. She’s an icon. Enjoy her
Its worth it as long we love the bag ❤
