My Onyx XT was amazing last week when we got dumped on here in Maryland. It’s actually the primary reason why I bought the car. When we moved to DC from San Diego in September we knew the days of perfect weather were behind us. Snow and mud in front of us. And driving anything other than a Subie just wasn’t on the menu..
Fun stuff! The first 48hrs of Tristate I went on (2008?), we went through some trails in the Pine Barrens. I had my '01 Forester at the time, still completely stock, and I stayed behind one of the STi's figuring I could go wherever he could. I think I need to pick up another adventure bike like the Yamaha Super Tenere I had and hit some of those areas again. I don't think my Impreza would last out there.
For the money Subaru Outback Onyx Xt or Wilderness is probably the cheapest way to get a luxury feeling car with good AWD system. Subaru actually gives you more horsepower because you paid more unlike other AWD car brands that cost the same as Onyx Xt around 40,000 but the only thing you get is better looking interior that's it no upgrade to the engine there
Yep! Plus, Subaru's AWD is *ALWAYS* on, unlike most of the competitors, so, we can do this all day long while many of the part time systems will overheat pretty quickly.
1:40 why does that look like the same mud/ice pit, that stumped "Everyman Driver" about 10 years ago in a 2014 4Runner. Wait, never mind, You guys are back East.
Is there any way to find a Subaru group to wheel with in North Dakota. Just picked up a crosstrek wilderness in December and so want to play in the snow. Fun little rig.
Join our community and see if you can find others near you to wheel with. We will eventually be doing Off Road Roos events in that area, but, probably not until 2026.
We adventure both north and south of Delaware (and some of our members are from Delaware), because, sadly, there aren't many legal trails in Delaware. So, feel free to join our FB community to find events that may be close enough for you.
CVTS in Subarus are one of the better, durable ones out there. Most comments that don’t reflect that is not doing you’re own research and relying on misinformation Trails to you….
Wow. Amazing and those Subarus towing others out….priceless looks like just a lot of muddy fun for those mountain goat Subarus……
It was! :-)

That is awesome! We hope to see you out on some of our adventures!
@@nelsonvanvickle8862 you get a good set of all-terrain’s on them and they’re virtually unstoppable
And here I thought the Jeep and Tacoma (?) were there to rescue the Subies just in case. I was wrong 😜
LOL!

That sound like fun!!! Also, keep an eye out for some lighter trail rides that the Impreza should handle just fine.

We can't wait to see you back out on the trails Jason!!!

Yep, this adventure is back out east.
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!

Wish I knew of some people who did this in or around my area in NC. looks fun
Join us in the Off Road Roos Community on FB. We do events in that area.
Subaru group in Delaware?

Traded a renegade for a 23 ascent onyx last year and now i wanna try this with it.
Join us on an upcoming adventure!
WE SHOULDA STOPPED AT ROY ROGERS!
LOL
And one Jeep Wrangler just in case some Subarus will get stuck so Wrangler can pull them out 😭🤣😭🤣
Anybody used X-MODE on the Subaru
That Jeep should have spent money on lockers instead of light bars.
LOL, sadly, in this weird goopy clay filled mud, sometimes lockers just help dig deeper.
Either way, fun was had by all. 😊
El Subaru es sólo un Todocamino NO es un TT con reductora y bloqueos
Subaru Ambassador Robert's Ascent has a locker and lower gearing.
LAUGHABLE, a FIORD Falcon with bald tires could do as well, possibly better!
Awfully brave towing those stuck cars out with those cvts
Not really. You should see what Subaru Ambassador Robert tows.
@@OffRoadRoos Would a kinetic strap work better with the stuck 4 runner?
Yes indeed, but it was unavailable at the time. 😕

@martinr8278 we couldn't have said it better!
