Me playing this beautiful jazzballad on the chromatic harmonica. I have another video where I play it on a diatonic harmonica, check that and you can hear the differences between the instruments.
The chromatic harmonica is a Suzuki Sirius S-64, a great instrument that I really enjoy to play. Its out of the box, just olive oil on the slide.
The microphone is a Sennheiser 421, good stuff.
One note in the melody is wrong, it should be a G, not an E... Sorry. Learned the tuned by ear and check the score too late... ;-)

Hello Filip,
Wonderful jazzy chromatic harmonica playing, sounds very relaxed and peacefull, well done Filip, I enjoyed your wonderful playing very much - B R A V O !!
Have a very nice weekend.
Dearest greetings from Chris and Mayka - The Netherlands - Western Europe.
Bra spel Filip,
Du med alla vi andra munspelare får ta över när vår Gury Toots har slutat att stå på tiljorna runt om i världen.
Hälsningar,
Johnny
@Filip Jers Music
Astounding - right mic, right reverb, your vibrato to die for - and straw method, all the way...the phrasing timed late and thus the vibe is not unlike Stevie's on a jazz ballad. As good as it gets, I mean. I try to play this stuff professionally and frankly I'd rather have heard of you already, you're that good. Next I'll discover that by day you're an accountant or software dude or some such, and you just DNA's this whole deal. Anyway carry on - this had technique & soul
RIGHT ON, MY BROTHER - COOL BAG and NICE GROOVE -
This guy is as good as it gets
Thanks!
this is a S.Sirius wow,and the Price is wow too
It is charmed, so that it is heard.
Well done 👍
Thanks David!
Very nice to listen ! Bravo !
I prefer when you are playing with a chromatic...
Regards.
Christian.
@Broaart there is differences. Suzuki has phosphor bronze reed, Hohner has brass. Phosphor bronze is what i have read (!) almost 4 times harder than brass. And this particular Sirius has brass combed screwed inside the comb, to make it sound even bigger. To me - brass reeds sounds "brassy" and a bit crunchy and distorted in the overtone series, while a phosphor bronze reed sounds more "clean" and "pure". And to tell what is best, i dont think is possible. Its about taste, and taste is personal!
I play this on my Sirius 56. Not nearly as well as you, Filip. I wish you would record an album of standards.
Yes, me to! Hopefully next year.
Hey do you pucker or tongue block? Sounds great!
J Nitti 7
@@FilipJersMusic Is this the straight tuned or cross tuned one?
Fantastic sound, Fun Riffs, and endless arsenal of musical ideas you poured out into this piece!!! Well Done!!! I also am a harmonica player and looking to get the Suzuki S-64C Sirius Chromatic 16-Hole 64-Note Harmonica.
Paul Brown Thanks! I really recommend checking out the Sirius 64C.
bra jobb, vacker melodi
@vvvultrasz2 Yes the harmonica is a great instrument. And its like a icecream menu, there are so many different kinds !
Great sounding jazz my friend. I notice that there seems to be a different sound with the Suzuki than that of the Hohner even though I realize it is how well you use either of them. I have heard there is a difference. What is your take on this??
Side entry mic end on??
Sensational playing. And the sound is great, too.
Thus I retract the microphone comment :)
paulanderson79 The 421 is end address, despite looking like a side address. 👍
Nice performance, but the seventh note in the first phrase of the tune is a G, not the lower E.
Otherwise, a fine, sensitive take on this lovely ballad.
@Shajani11 tack! bara till att öva..
I love to listen to you play, Filip! Are you puckering or tonguing in this wonderful performance? Barry
@nofretzDW thanks! yes, aebersold
Just Great ! How much time you have been playing the harmonica ?
Great solo! Were did you get the backing track?
Do you play mostly pucker or tonga-blocking? Or do yo use both?
@vinoo1946 Thanks Vinoo!
NICE! Your vibrato and pitch bends are pretty smooth considering the fact that you're playing on a Chromatic Harp. Nicely done.
Cheers!
One more question - What programme do you use for recording of music?
Your sound is perfect! I have really enjoined!
Logic 9
Very beautiful sensitive playing! I started playing chromatics in 1975 when I was in high school. I had 2 which I still play today. Both Hohner. The Koch is in G and has better sound for my taste compared to the C basic chromatic that I also have. I always assumed it is because the G is a bit lower in range but I suspect it is also the instrument. I want to upgrade but wonder about the key. Are you playing a C in this or another key. Again, you have a wonderful sound.
Thanks! yes the song is in C, I am playing a Suzuki Sirius 64 chromatic harmonica. The Koch is tuned a diatonic harmonica I think, but with a button.
G chromatic is lower than C, and yes it is a great sound. If you want to upgrade, I recommend Suzuki SCX48 in G, great harmonica for the money!
Could you please tell us who is the fantastic background?
+Gerd Kleber Aebersold.
Great rendition, next to Stevie Wonder's, I'd have to say that it was very enjoyable. Check out Stevie's on RUclips, he's got some amazing runs that you may find interesting . Thanks
dat mustache movement
Do you use any of the Suzuki Fabulous series? If not , why not??
Yes! Mainly the chromatics
there shouldn't even be a "dislke" button on this page.
is that an aebersold backing track? sounds familiar
Why Suzuki Sirius? Why not Honer TOOT'S MELLOW 7538? Did you try it? Your opinion? I am choosing now..What to buy?
I highly recommend Suzuki Sirius. You can buy both 12, 14 or 16 hole version, depending on what register you prefer. Suzuki Sirius is a great built and fine tuned instrument, high quality phosphor bronze reeds and a long lasting instrument.
+Filip Jers Music
I bought Suzuki Sirius m 48 as you advised me.
Wonderful sound,I very like the instrument, just can you help me with one question?
The first and a little bit second holes on inhale has very bad sound, it`s very hard to produce a clear sound. I mean notes D and F of the first octave.
Is it normally for harmonica?
City Jazz I like to ask you if you ever got the Suzuki chromatix scx -64
What’s the olive oil for?
For the slide mechanism. Nowadays I use mineral oil.
@harmonicajazzcm ;-)
Again, are you lip blocking or tongue blocking here?
Всё очень хорошо, прекрасная гармошка, очень здорово ложится на аберсольдовский минус. И восхитительно звучит в совокупности. Но чёрт возьми, неужели никого не смущает то, что он елозит по инструменту этой лошадиной пиздой?..
Haven't you got too far from the song? It could be an improvisation of some other song over same chords.
Hmm maybe you are right :-) Improvisation can take you anywhere...
