@@apolloandratti7922I drove both and own a 981 GTS. I’d say in terms of driving dynamics, the 718 4.0 is slightly better across the board, but not nearly enough to justify the price difference. For me the biggest let down was the sound of the 718 GTS 4.0 compared to the sublime auditory delight of the 981 GTS. Every drive in the 981 feels like a proper occasion.

Welcome aboard! Good to have you. As for the double yellow rule - we sometimes break it - but since we take most of the roads without scouting - it mostly has to do with safety. I will always counter the 2.7 sounds better the same horsepower per liter with less literage will always sounds better given other factors stay the same
@@salami99 it does good - agree. However - I do like the deeper tone you get from the S. Maybe a case of personal preference since I don’t think there is a bad choice to make between the two cayman variants.

@@trueview3127 it's ok, the 982 came later as a return to form after the 981 disaster (maybe the gt4 redeemed it before 982, still haven't tried it), I'm guessing the juvenile burbles can be tuned out, it's not as bad with the exhaust switched anyway.

Outside of the 981 GT4/spyder that title is 100% true! (that being said there are only a handful of both under $100k)

What kind of radar detector do you use?
The one is the video is an older escort detector I believe. The most effective thing though is to run Waze and to be observant and safe . . .

The GTS 4.0 sounds good - but is also above $100k when new. The 981 S is really a musical instrument on wheels!

The 981 S and GTS are the same engine…and it is spectacular.
This sounds absolutely offensively disturbingly disgusting unless someone is really into nasty burbles. One of the worst noises at any price point.

That seems a bit dramatic😂 The pops and burbles are only present in Sport or Sport+, otherwise the burbles and pops are nearly non existent.
