Hey guys, we hope you enjoy today's video and if you're off on any travels soon we both hope you have a great trip and travel safe ❤️ There are lots of other tips being shared in the comments so make sure you check those out too 😘
I've started using packing cubes for my past couple of trips and they are great. After a couple of days I would have a rumpled jumble of clothes, but now they are neatly stored in their designated areas. Much less rumpling and getting changed is so much easier. I have them I different colours so I can easily identify what's in each.
Rolling clothes is a great way to maximise space. Packing cubes are amazing. I love the ones from muji. Muji also has some amazing travel accessories. Zip lock bags are another great hack for toiletries and accessories. Make a travel packing list so it will be handy every time you travel.
As an ex flight attendant, I recommend you leave a copy of your flight itinerary in your luggage. Especially if you have connections....for the purpose of getting back your lost suitcase. And put your toiletries in a ziplock bag....the pressure might just explode that shampoo all over your clothes.
Agree great tips from Ana Luis but we'd have to leave our case unlocked wouldn't we? Trying to catch up with all your advise Emma...I've learnt so much from you...Thanks x
Ana Luis please can I ask a question. I’m going to London in 3 months but want to carry just a suitcase. Is the suitcase showed above to big for a carry-on?
Great video. My top tip for packing is to pack your outfits together. I went to India recently and we were touring, so basically lived out of the suitcase. I sorted all my outfits and rolled them together with underwear and it just made life so easy. My other tip is for when you are away, which is to pack your used items directly into your suitcase (I have a bag to put them in if I'm living out of the case) so you don't have a huge packing job at the end of the holiday.
great tips- I have traveled so much and was always using that semi-fold method where all the clothing is stacked and then folded over so most of it (the outer ones) are not creased, but I have recently started rolling items for my dresser and will do so on my next trip also. Most of my clothing is linen year 'round but I have been buying linen knits recently which seem easier to roll with less wrinkling. I will be using my phone to record outfits- thanks so much for the tip!
Ok Ems youre good, very very good! Youve convinced me! Ive been of the mindset that if I pack well ie: roll and use every nook and crannie that i could forgo the cubes. Youve convinced me to give them a go. Cubes and that brilliant jewelry organizer--added to my Amazon cart! And I too wanted to know how you did it with the hats! Brava!!!
Thank you Emma for these tips & this video. It was most helpful. I have been using packing cubes for a few years now & am hooked. I use them on my travels - from weekends away to 2 month European trips. I have bought my partner a set of cubes as well in a different colour to mine so that if we go on a short trip with just one bag we can easily identify our own. It makes it so much more efficient (& tidier)as he can find his things so easily.
Same here--two of the most charming and seemingly genuine personalities out there! (I'll throw in Estee Lalonde, Karen Brit Chick, Audrey Coyne, and Miss Louie to round up my dream team!)
You're such a pro - please will you come and organise my life Emma!!! Brilliant tips thank you. I'm a bit of a packing phobe I must say, because I always over pack but next time we have a holiday I'm so excited to try these hacks. Now I just need someone to watch two small children whilst I go on an amazing holiday that I can't wait to pack for! 😂 Xxx
Amazon also has plastic travel bags that you lay your folded clothes inside, zip, then start at one end and roll. As you roll the air comes out. The same concept as the vacuum bags, just without the vacuum. Comes in handy if you have wet bathing suits.
Love the hat packing tip, could never cope with packing cubes they make packing and unpacking time so much longer, same with the filling in all spaces technic, I’m not too sure it is organised or less organised because I will have to scoop smaller items out of every where when I arrive. The jewellery pouch looks like a life saver! All these definitely help packing a lot more into the suitcase, some may increase packing time but generally really useful tip! Thank you!
Agree those cubes are life! So easy to unpack just take your cube to drawer I leave my stuff in some of them especially underwear / costume jewellery saves wiping out dusty drawers too ..might need that jewellery case though😀 I also collect cosmetic /bath travel size treasures all year so I just grab a bag full and love having so many new products to try ..saves them wasting away in the bathroom 😋
Loved this video Emma! Deffo going to help me when I go on holiday at the end of the month and that little travel jewellery pouch is so cool! Also, I'd love it if you could do a video styling pieces from stores you've never bought from before (Missguided, Boohoo, Primark etc) x
Elena Day I don’t actually 'do' Primark, Boohoo or Missguided I’m afraid. Their stuff is so cheap/bad quality and almost always made of polyester so I avoid those brands, sorry 🙈
Emma! Thanks for this, so useful. Am going away next week, so will be hitting Amazon to get those bits you recommended, & will be putting into practice all of your tips!! Have a lovely Sunday x
Hi Nati - as a fellow carry-on only I too found the hat tip useful😀. Do you use packing cubes or do you find smaller carry on cases work best with rolling only?
Hi Princess Wears Hiking Boots, I use a Baggu large cube for all my really nice outfits and I use the rolling method for t's and leggings. The combo I found works really well. 😎
What I do to pack my shoes is to use old socks or really cheap ones and put the shoe inside the sock each. It works really well for leather shoes when you don’t want it to get scratched. I also work my packing in layers so each layer has to be sorta flat before I move on to the next layer. This way it keeps everything tidy. Another thing is to put heavier things near the wheels of the suitcase which closer to the bottom when it’s standing
Hi Yuhan Hu - spot on about heavier items at the bottom of a roller case😀. I use smaller packing cubes for my shoes - heels would snag in socks, lol!! Layers, rolling or packing cubes all work - personal prefernces are always best. I squeeze more in by rolling single layer (carry on only) and can look down into my case to pick and repack easily without removing everything. Happy and safe travels.
Love the video and organization!! My husband and I are headed to London and Scotland for a 10 day visit! Any recommendations of places we must see or items/products I should pick up that I cannot get (easily) in the U.S.? I'm paranoid I'm going to miss out on local goodies!!! Thanks!!
I recently bought the packing cubes and have to say they are priceless, especially as I shared a case with a friend and whilst my things came out all neat in their little bags her clothes were all over the shop 😂 Winning!
Hi Ann, I agree. Have you tried the Eagle Creek Compression Cubes (2 zips for compression)? They are game changers when space is tight😀. Happy and safe travels.
Love this video! I have no need for packing or any trips planned but now I really want to go pack a suitcase and try them all out 😎. Love that jewellery case as well, would be great for just storage on my dressing table. X
Great tips Emma! Really helpful for me. I do travel quite a bit, but i haaaaaate packing so I feel i am getting worse at it lol so need to get that pouch for the jewelry!! 😘
Packing cubes are life lol 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Great tips, especially love the jewellery pouch that looks amazing. Despite putting mine into various pouches and bags when travelling they can still be a faff and get muddled, but that one looks 👍🏻 X
kuperleona Sadly, for some mysterious reason, tgat jewelery pouch cannot be shipped to the US so I'm hoping to find an alternative. Clicked on "learn more" but unless it's flammable it isn't on the list of reasons why it's excluded. .
These tips came at just the right time as I'm off to Cannes next weekend! Definitely going to invest in some of those packing cubes. Thank you very muchly! xx
Another great video Emma! Very useful tips, I'm not a big fun of packing /unpacking but I hope your tips will make the whole process (for us less organised) much more enjoyable. Thank you so much!! :)
Yayyyyy! I am the packing cube queeeeen! Am in Prague this moment! Tip: when creased, hang it in the shower! The steam.of the shower will get rid of all creases! Also: I put my chargers in my handluggage. If your suitcase doen't arrive.....you'll have a problem! 😘
The packing cubes are a great idea...I am the worst packer in the world so I think the cubes will help me stay organized and non wrinkly...thanks for all the tips you've given us...
I like that jewelry pouch! I never put my jewelry in my suitcase. I carry in my purse, and don't take alot (although I have tons of). Nice individual bags you have as well! I just use the dry cleaners bags, roll as well, works great! Thanks for your tips! ✈️ ... 🌹
Hello :) I very much enjoyed this Emma! I always wear as much of my jewellery as I can (hello B.A Baracus) to save it getting lost or mixed up. Very much valued the tips from your fellow followers as well. Love Kelly x
Great video for anybody who loves to take everything, lol! Spot on about outfit organization and rolling😀. Cute jewelry organizer - it might be tempting to pack too much jewelry (as if there's ever enough!!)? Jewelry, and other expensive items, are probably best packed in your carry on to avoid theft during transit. Do you leave room for shopping?
I usually just buy extra luggage as I don't always have time for shopping on my trips so there's no guarantee that I would do any, but I guess it depends on where I'm going.
Love this video. Never thought of packing hats away like that, great tip😁I had never heard of packing cubes either, I think I will definitely have to get those😁 Croatia here we come! 💨
One thing about steaming clothes....I always, if possible, hang up my clothes in the bathroom and find the steam from the shower does the job. One less thing to pack 😉
I don't know if you switched anything up in this video but somehow your makeup looks even more fantastic than normal! 😍 Such a good video, wish I had these tips before I moved to Japan!
Amazed by this jewelry bag, omg need it! Just like you I’m a packing nerd and already following all of these tricks haha (also it’s smart to wear the most spacious / heaviest items in your travel outfit 😏) great video Emma! ❤️
I used to agree with that until I travelled with wearing a huge hat and it got ruined in the overhead bins, so sometimes I just prefer to pack things and pay for extra luggage if needed 🙈
Hi Lilly - I used to wear my heavy coat onboard until we passed through Thailand enroute to the UK and I swelterd during my stopover. We travel on one airline that makes you feel like a hot house flower so heavy layers are problematic. Going from cold to cold them it's a great idea. Packing takes lots of practice. Packing cubes is genius! I’ve traveled with them on holidays with friends and family a couple of times, and received a few laughs. But I can always find my things in my suitcase, my stuff isn’t wrinkled and I know how many pairs of knickers I have left at any time. They on the other hand can’t find anything in the mess in their suitcase. So I have the last laugh!
Hi Jacen. Quite agree. Emma has some great tips. Don't forget to leave room for shopping and souvenirs😀. Also a great idea to pack your valuables (jewelry, camera, computer etc.) in your carry on to avoid luggage tampering. Happy and safe travels.
Hi Ali B - LOL - it's a fine line between OCD and organization!! Look out for Eagle Creeks lightweight compression packing cubes (dual zipper) - takes packing to a new level (stellar if you are carry on only and space is at a premium). Happy and safe travels😀
Hi Rosalie. Emma offers excellent advice. Don't forget to leave some room for shopping and pack your jewelry, and other valuables (e.g. camera and computer) in your carry on to avoid bag tampering. Advance preparation is key and Emma's outfit ideas are spot on😀. I'd avoid linen and take more easy care fabrics. Happy and safe travels.
I think another good tip is to pack all the items that would set off any security alarm, metals, anything so dense it won't scan, food items, together in one bag and pack it near the opening of the suitcase that way if they need to open it they shouldn't need to go thru everything, making a mess and looking at your underwear! Lol

So for your hats and purses you used two pieces of luggage looked like.
Klimt Kahlo huh? In this video there was 1 suitcase.
Klimt Kahlo )
Taking mirror selfies of your outfits is next level extra, I love it!
Rolling clothes is a great way to maximise space. Packing cubes are amazing. I love the ones from muji. Muji also has some amazing travel accessories. Zip lock bags are another great hack for toiletries and accessories. Make a travel packing list so it will be handy every time you travel.

This couldn't have come at a better time as I Am travelling to the Philippines next week. The best travel packing vid I've seen.

This was so awesome! 😍 I’m doing a “what to pack” myself next week, and I’ll definitely mention this one as the perfect organizing type of video 👌🏻
Use Less I follow both you and Emma and you’re both my favourite You Tubers!
Same here--two of the most charming and seemingly genuine personalities out there! (I'll throw in Estee Lalonde, Karen Brit Chick, Audrey Coyne, and Miss Louie to round up my dream team!)

Jewellery pack is really awesome. I’m also a big fan of it. And I carry several small jewelry boxes, which is inconvenient. I need pouch!! Thanks Emma
This has made me even more excited for my holiday to the US next month! Xx
Discovered packing cubes about a year ago. Game changer! (also great if TSA opens your luggage) Thanks for all the tips.
Emma! Thanks for this, so useful. Am going away next week, so will be hitting Amazon to get those bits you recommended, & will be putting into practice all of your tips!! Have a lovely Sunday x
I packed my Mar Y Sol fedora like you suggested, it worked like a charm. So great as I only travel with a carryon and the Fedora was like new!
Nati Herron excellent! It works every time 😘
Hi Nati - as a fellow carry-on only I too found the hat tip useful😀. Do you use packing cubes or do you find smaller carry on cases work best with rolling only?

Love the video and organization!! My husband and I are headed to London and Scotland for a 10 day visit! Any recommendations of places we must see or items/products I should pick up that I cannot get (easily) in the U.S.? I'm paranoid I'm going to miss out on local goodies!!! Thanks!!
10/10 packing skills. Loved the jewelry travelbag. Even good for like your summer jewelry and pack these fall/winter so its all in one place and save
Hi Carmen. Ditto😀. Best to pack your jewelry in your carry-on to avoid theft.
So many videos I didn’t watch! I’m going to have me an Emma marathon 😍😍😍😍
I recently bought the packing cubes and have to say they are priceless, especially as I shared a case with a friend and whilst my things came out all neat in their little bags her clothes were all over the shop 😂 Winning!

Loved this video, I’m proud to admit that I use most of these tips😍 I just love packing so much! And as you said, planning outfits is a must👌🏼
Brilliant tips will be using these soon, would you still use the cubes for a cabin carry on? Xx
Packing cubes are life lol 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Great tips, especially love the jewellery pouch that looks amazing. Despite putting mine into various pouches and bags when travelling they can still be a faff and get muddled, but that one looks 👍🏻 X

Many thanks. Going to South America next week. Good tip re hats!
Very useful video. Liked the jewelry case idea. Plan to purchase one. Thanks
I'm going on holiday soon and this video was really helpful!!

Lydia Carels I carry multiple chargers because I have a habit of losing them so one in my luggage and one in hand luggage...but that’s just me 🙈
Emma Hill it's só childish of me, but I'm always só gratefull that you answer! Not obligated, but só lovely and attentive! Thx for that! 😘
The packing cubes are a great idea...I am the worst packer in the world so I think the cubes will help me stay organized and non wrinkly...thanks for all the tips you've given us...

Really great video! Thanks a million for all the perfect tips!
Hello :) I very much enjoyed this Emma! I always wear as much of my jewellery as I can (hello B.A Baracus) to save it getting lost or mixed up. Very much valued the tips from your fellow followers as well. Love Kelly x
I'm travelling today! This is soooo helpful!! Thanks Emma 😊 xx
Such good ideas Emma, thank you. I have gone straight to the links and ordered the packing cubes 👍

Cool, we did this in Mexico - we literally bought a kitchen sink and enough homewares to open a shop, lol!!!
I can imagine! I'm the same when I go to Morocco, I literally have to ship stuff back home 😂
Love this!! Currently packing for my European holiday! 😍
Thank you so much for the tips. I'm going to order the same packing cubes as yours and I will think about you during my next vacation 😎
Emma I always pack large bottles of fluid inside extra bags in case they leak have just bought some resealable ones from ikea which would be ideal
Thank you! I’m travelling in two weeks and needs advice on jewellery packing 😘😘
OMG this jewellery bag is brilliant !
Okay...quickly becoming one of my favourite youtubers wtf 🤕💓🤷🏾♀️💓
I don't know if you switched anything up in this video but somehow your makeup looks even more fantastic than normal! 😍 Such a good video, wish I had these tips before I moved to Japan!
Laura Bruening I had eyeliner on but that’s it 🙊
Love a good roll also!!! I now have to buy the jewellery case, adapter, and cubes hahaha
Excellent tips. Thanks
Great video and I look forward to using these tips!
Emma Hill ooh, I see! That sounds reasonable💋
Quite agree - as needs be😀
Hi Lilly - I used to wear my heavy coat onboard until we passed through Thailand enroute to the UK and I swelterd during my stopover. We travel on one airline that makes you feel like a hot house flower so heavy layers are problematic. Going from cold to cold them it's a great idea. Packing takes lots of practice. It's a learning experience best shared with channels like Emma's. Happy and safe travels😀
Hi Emma,I just stumbled onto your channel while looking for airport/travel clothes to London this summer. Do you have any tips or perhaps another video somewhere about what to wear as a tourist in the UK for different seasons?
This particular video was so detailed and I'm definitely saving this for future reference.👍
I think there are a couple of summer outfit videos on the channel but you can also check my instagram in the weeks leading up to your visit for an idea of what the weather is like ❤️
@@EmmaHill Will do thank you :)
love this, thanks for some great ideas
Bravo Emma!! Purchasing the cubes, and jewelry travel case now!! Thank you :-)

Super useful! Thank you 💕 lots of love from Italy 🇮🇹
Thank you Emma!! This is the most informative and useful video 💖❤️ come just the right time I need it
this is very useful! thanks, emma! x
Hi Pish Tosh83 - agree packing cubes are fab - have you tried the Eagle Creek Compression cubes (2 zips for compression) yet? Happy and safe travels😀.
loved the hat, where did you get it from, please?
Thanks for this vid Emma, lots of cool info especially packing the hat!
You are amazing! Not too long to the point and very informative. Thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Omg love loved loved it life changing thank you 🥰🥰🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Very efficient 👌🏼 I love it!
Very Informative and Helpful Video, Thank you so much Appreciate the Advice Emma, Enjoyed! 💯😊👌
Hi Jacen. Quite agree. Emma has some great tips. Don't forget to leave room for shopping and souvenirs😀. Also a great idea to pack your valuables (jewelry, camera, computer etc.) in your carry on to avoid luggage tampering. Happy and safe travels.
Now all I desperately need is a holiday Em! Love the hat idea - in fact all great suggestions, thank you. Gillie from Down Under 💋
Gimal 01 same, shall we all go away? 🙊😉😉
J’adore j’adore j’adore!!!! Love your accent!!! Your video gave me a lot of great ideas !!! Kisses from France 🇫🇷😻😻😻😻😻
Packing cubes, I had no idea. So perfect as my OCD laughs!😊
Hi Ali B - LOL - it's a fine line between OCD and organization!! Look out for Eagle Creeks lightweight compression packing cubes (dual zipper) - takes packing to a new level (stellar if you are carry on only and space is at a premium). Happy and safe travels😀
If you save the shower caps and use them exclusively as shoe covers, it reduces waste and is possibly cheaper.
That travel steamer is goals
OMG you lool fabulous im this video. I had to cut my hair the other day... again... but you're inspiring me so much
i love the jewelry pouch! very informative video 👍🏽
Hi Trixia, I thought the jewelry pouch was cute too - best to pack it in your carry-on though to avoid bag tampering. Happy & safe travels😀
But doesn't it take up way more space than those plastic bags?
I needed this video as I am going on a trip this week and packing is always a nightmare :-). Thank you!
Perfect video!!
I think another good tip is to pack all the items that would set off any security alarm, metals, anything so dense it won't scan, food items, together in one bag and pack it near the opening of the suitcase that way if they need to open it they shouldn't need to go thru everything, making a mess and looking at your underwear! Lol
