The P-64 is a much more elegant weapon. I added some absolutely sick CNC'd French walnut grips to mine (ebay) and it really took it to the next level. I EDCd it for about a year, but the gun was too nice to live the rest of it's life in my pocket. Bought something else just for that purpose. Although I do still carry it from time to time.
Good to see you up and running. The last time I saw a video was when the bastards were trying to run you out of Dodge. Anyway, the gun review was excellent. If I ever get out of California or if we win the lawsuit against the state, I would be interested in owning one.
Polish military units(except SOF) don't use G19. They are using many P-83, some WIST-94(terrible 1st frame, the second one is better), and our version of Walther P99, called Rad (if i am not wrong,in english: radium). SOFs are using G17(not sure if G19 too), even some FN five-seven, HK USP, and my favorite, Sig Sauer P226.
For a pistol who's whole design goals were "to save money" on it's manufacturing, "It's a damn good gun!" Accuracy as required in a Police/Military sidearm. As reliable as any semiautomatic can be. And a joy to take out and shoot or to train someone on! Both frame and slide made mostly of sheet metal stampings! Bent into shape and welded as necessary. It's not the "Pretty Boy" pistol, but still looks good and will "Get the job done"! I wish I had several examples in my collection. But count myself pretty lucky to have found a gun in very nice condition!
Nice you've found a new place to shoot - not quite as good as the last range for privacy but at least it means you can get out and shoot (both guns and videos lol)
Nice review. I have never owned a Makarov of any type but I have shot a few owned by friends. They are a great, basic little handgun & one of my friends really loves hers. She wouldn't trade it for the world. lol I can't say I would like one that much but, it is certainly something my collection is missing.
I own a beautiful 100th anniversary edition Walther PP with nice walnut grips. Your Polish pistol under review kind of reminds me of my Mauser HSc (Hahn Selbstspanner Self-Cocking Hammer Pistol version C) circa 1940 "American Eagle Edition", 5000 units were made. Mauser-Werke, in the town of Oberndorf am Neckar, Germany; distributed by InterArms. I have a numbered 4900 out of 5000 made.
Its hard not to though haha! Usually very well made, milled steel, solid little guns, etc. (excepting of course you dont include those pot metal Saturday night specials of that era into the mix!)... But in all serious, my friends think im weird for liking smaller pistols (even something like a colt vest pocket for example) I don't think its weird at all, just because its smaller doesnt mean its any well less made.
Great to see more shooting videos from you Mike. I'm sure we'd all like an update on how it went with those &)*&$%^$ who were trying to kick you off your old range?
i bought another one of these pistols abd you can sorta push the safety a little bit into the slide is this normal or something wrong with it it seems to functiin ok afraid if i shoot it will be a matter of time till it breaks
have the feg pa-63 , 2 polish p64s , p-63 , 2 Bulgarian makarovs , cz 83 my favorite is the cz83 , I love the p64 s but I ordered and replaced hammer and recoil spring from wolf springs , the lower on the p-63 is sheet metal not solid steel kind of like an ak with a stamped receiver , thank you for your video you are very knowledgeable
I looked at a number of 9x18 caliber handguns for CCW before simply going for a Bersa Thunder .45. I haven't really looked back too much...but...I still have an interest in Makarov chambered guns, and the P83 is one of the ones I still take seriously for a CCW. At one point I was able to hold a "true" Makarov and I was kind of disappointed in the ergonomics after hearing all the hype. It really didn't fit my hand very well,. My Bersa a bit bulkier than any of these 9x18's, but nevertheless I can't seem to avoid some hammer-bite and a little bleeding after shooting up a box of ammo,. It's not a big deal...but seriously, who wants that? So I'm wondering if I'd end up with the same if I went with a P83, being even smaller and having that hammer like that. Right now I use a DA-only Keltec P11 most of the time. I like the ergo ADN the 10+ capacity in 20oz 9x19 caliber gun,. Outstanding! And I haven't had any of the problems people talk about either. It goes bang every time. I'm still interested in fidning a good 9x18 pistol for CCW, but I wonder if there really is one for me. CZ82's are too bulky/too many parts, FEG PA-63 is poor quality,. Makarov doesn't fit. The P83 might be my last hope. :-/
I await delivery of my 9x18 ammo for my just-today delivered Mak P83. In terrific condition - minimal barrel wear and only slight holster wear. This very video helped me make up my mind to get one. Thank you. BTW, love yer Polish military beret. Where did you get it?
Great. Now you added cloudiness to my choices. I was looking at the FEG (my father has a Walther PPK/S and I like the feel of it) over the P64. Now I see there is a P83. Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit. NOW which one do I want for concealed edc. (My West German P226 does not lend itself well to conceal carry in Florida).
The Trigger on this firearm really hangs out there when cocked! Not as sleek a design as the P64 which I like better. I heard that the trigger pull on the P64 was extreemly heavy as well. If I had to choose between the P64 and the P83 just on function of the gun alone, which would you choose? You sure dont spare any Ammo in your Videos,,,do you? Thx, JQP
A bientôt Mike.
Looks like a mix up of an Mauser HSC and Walther PPK to me. then again i´m no expert as here in Denmark it is illegal to own handguns . i do have the Airsoft version of the Mauser HSC would love a Walther PPK as well
How's the recoil? I heard all the PPK clones in 9x18 Makarov have terrible recoil. I really want to get purchase a real Makarov and a CZ-82, they're supposed to be the best 9x18 Mak pistols available.
The CZ-82 is far and away the best 9mm Mak pistol, at least in my opinion. Here is a link to my CZ-82 video CZ82 9mm Makarov I like Makarovs, but not nearly as much as the CZ-82. Here's my Bulgarian Makarov video Makarov pistol
The p-83 is the softest shooter out of all the Makarov pistols. I have owned and fired the CZ82, Double stack commercial Makarov, single stack Makarov, and p-64. I never tried the p-63 - I was told it was the snappiest, so I avoided it. Some claim the CZ is the softest recoil- but I did side by side tests with the same ammo, and the cz hurt, and p83 didn't. I wouldn't be afraid to buy either one though- it's fairly close.
chrisloUSA I the recoil of the this P83 is alright but sometimes "clumsy", and the FEG PA 63 is my favorite for size, shape, light weight and managable recoil.
Petesimon Tabibito I have the 32 ACP version of the FEG, the trigger pull was terrible but after replacing it with lighter springs from Wolff it's a nice shoot. I don't know if would be as enjoyable to shoot in 9x18.
P64 is the most accurate of my 11 pistols cz 75b, cz 75 compact, cz Rami 2075, Romanian & Chinese 7.62x25 etc. Only complaint is recoil . I’ll have to find a P 83.
Probably P-83 could be used in future by municipal police "Straż Miejsca" (in eng. "City Guard") after the assassination of the city president in Gdańsk. But as I said - probably! Currently this gun is used by police office officials (couse every Police officer must have a gun), older officers (personal choice) and of course, every cadet use this gun during training in Police Academy. Pozdrowienia!
Glad your back. I cant wait to see the videos on the new property :)
greatings from Poland !
Pjerodl sie cebulaku. Tylko Rosja.
Good to see you shooting!
Excellent to see you back in action Mike! As usual, great video, thanks for sharing.
New range & new gun review. Great job on both counts! :-) I just got a P-64 & watched your review and a few others before buying it.
I guess you settled on a new range? Hope to see you and your shooting more than ever now...nice one!
I'm glad to see you posting some shooting videos again! Thanks for the tour of this interesting pistol.
Glad you found a place to shoot Mike. Nice review on the gun too.
Welcome back Mike, glad to see you got yourself a new range. Good re-start pistol too, wow that sucker shoots!
Welcome back Mike and thanks for the video!
Good job on the review. I think I'll look into one of these pistols. Glad to see you have a new place to shoot!
Good to have you back, Mike!
Glad that you're back. Great review again.
Thanks for the new video. If I showed up to the range and found you doing a video with props and hats and all, I'd think it was way cool.
Great gun! Great review! Really glad you're back!
Let me be the 100th person to welcome you back and say glad you found anew place to shoot. We're still here.
Good to see you up and running. The last time I saw a video was when the bastards were trying to run you out of Dodge.
Anyway, the gun review was excellent. If I ever get out of California or if we win the lawsuit against the state, I would be interested in owning one.
Glad to see you back! Enjoyed this video very much. I'll have to look around for a P-83 and maybe buy one
stellar review, and very good to see you making vids Mike!! Missed ya!! :-)
Glad to see you found a new range! I so like watching your videos.

Found a new range eh? Glad to see ya back at it. Great vid!
Good to see your video again!
Nice you've found a new place to shoot - not quite as good as the last range for privacy but at least it means you can get out and shoot (both guns and videos lol)
Good video, cool little pistol
And also, good to know you found a place to shoot&shoot
nice vid. great to see you back.
Just ordered mine friday. Can't wait!
Dzień dobry, your polish is pretty good:) Nice video
Mike, I see you found a new place to shoot/make videos. Good for you!
Nice review. I have never owned a Makarov of any type but I have shot a few owned by friends. They are a great, basic little handgun & one of my friends really loves hers. She wouldn't trade it for the world. lol I can't say I would like one that much but, it is certainly something my collection is missing.
Looks like you were more accurate one handed than two handed. Great review!
I used to own a p64. loved how it carried, hated the round
Welcome back
Very nice shooting, thinking about getting one now.

Awesome! Like those smaller 20th century pistols. ^^

3:54- How bout a "going hot" warning in the future? Lol! Nice gun.
Solid review. Thanks.
Great to see more shooting videos from you Mike. I'm sure we'd all like an update on how it went with those &)*&$%^$ who were trying to kick you off your old range?
New range?
Looks like a nice gun. I always thought Makarov family gun could use a little more weight to tame that bite.
i bought another one of these pistols abd you can sorta push the safety a little bit into the slide is this normal or something wrong with it it seems to functiin ok afraid if i shoot it will be a matter of time till it breaks

I like the take down procedure.
great review!
Nice one, Mike - thanks!
is that a new range your shooting on there mike
looks a lot better place if it is nice little gun that P-64,
great video
Very nice video. That looks like a good gun but I suspect that the fact you are a good shot helps its image a lot. Thanks for sharing.
New range? If so, good. Great video.

Mike stupid question is that a Polish enlisted man hat PS love the pistol and congrats on the new range that you found.
Thanks Mike.

+Dusty Rusty it's Air Force technical aid beret,
Should I get one of these or a Bulgarian or E German Mak? Always find your vids helpful, enjoyable and learn something. Another one well done. Thanks.
Johnny Appalachia I actually prefer this gun to the Bulgarian or Russian Makarovs...haven't shot an E. German, so I can't say.
***** Better trigger and more accurate
***** more eurotrash nonsense, not worth a reply, grow up, DO something, then call me.
well done i have though about getting one of those

Does that have the loaded chamber indicator like the P-64?
yes

3:55 caught a man without his ears on at the range!
Where can I find one? I think it would be worth owning a European military surplus handgun that shoots 9X18mm Makarov cartridges.
Weidners
I just bought two at Weidners.com. Both came with original holster and extra magazine for $200 each
why are you using more trigger finger than necessary?
How's the recoil? I heard all the PPK clones in 9x18 Makarov have terrible recoil. I really want to get purchase a real Makarov and a CZ-82, they're supposed to be the best 9x18 Mak pistols available.

Whwere can I get one?
new range..... nice
nice video
Is this a good home defense weapon?
Not my first choice, but it can do the job.
Nice location......!
Good vid. I enjoyed it. The P-83 appears to be a mish-mash or combination of the designs of the PPK and the J P Sauer H.
Keep up the good wok.
Dick
Hi Mike, go ahead!
Lose the Beret please - you didn't earn it.
your new pistol is more impressive than Polish language skills
Jealous, been trying to get one of these for ages, sadly I'm in california
