    I had a tooth that was scheduled to be extracted, but due to covid, it was scheduled a couple of months out. I tried using this to fill the cavity and it is really not worth the time, money, or effort as just crumbles in your mouth. I tried several different brands and all were a complete failure. The package indicates enough cement for a number of uses, but that is because you can fill a tooth several times a day as this stuff “DOES NOT HARDEN SATISFACTORILY.”
    I followed the procedures exactly. I let it set overnight to ensure that I didn’t eat or drink. The cement fell out the next morning when I had a peach yogurt for breakfast.
    I then tried drying the tooth before applying the product. To say this is a cement, is very misleading. I did a little research and discovered that this “cement” could be made at home by using cornstarch and petroleum jelly. People, cornstarch and petroleum jelly? So, I tried that and it turned out to be exactly like the Dentemp.
    Don’t waste your time or money.

    I cracked my tooth a couple days ago and my dentist due to covid said to buy temparin till covid ends. I got some of the dental cement on my tooth and it’s dry do you know how I would be able to remove it ?

    • @orangdadashian2089

      Rehena Mae , do you mean you have some of this cement on another tooth you want to remove? If so, leave it for a while and it will wear off on itself, otherwise you can try to scrape it off. Hope this helps.

      Oscar Dadashian it’s on the tooth I tried to fill and a spot on another one . My dentist said to fill it with an emergency kit but the tooth it had a metal filling and when it broke /cracked some of the filling feel very small amount but very much in tact.the tooth is loose but isn’t coming out still in the gum. I’m keeping it clean by brushing my teeth regularly and mouth washing 3 times a day. I saw on google said you could use sugar free to cover the tooth during the day and try too keep the mouth dry ?

    Hi Oscar, Can you use this if the the edge where the filling broken away, if i put my finger in the whole i can smell bacteria from the tooth, is it okay still to proceed.

    • @orangdadashian2089
      @orangdadashian2089  4 года назад +1

      Hi, as long as the tooth is not throbbing, my recommendation is to just clean it with your brush and put the filling in for now. Luckily, the dental practices are opening back up from 8th June, therefore you can get help soon. If it is only the edge of your tooth, it might just nor stick in there as you need a cavity with walls to keep the filling in place. Worth a try though. Hope this helps. Thanks

      Hi Kami. This material is a space filler as long as the space is large enough to be retentive. Otherwise it will not stick.

    I have a throbbing tooth ache , has a hole in my tooth and the gum above is swollen and can't get a dentist appointment anywhere in my area 😫

    • @orangdadashian2089
      @orangdadashian2089  2 года назад +3

      I am very sorry to hear that Jamal. That sounds like an infection and you will NEED to see a dentist. Do not use this temporary filling as the infection needs to drain and by blocking it the swelling will get worse. If you are in the UK, call 111 and they will find you an emergency dentist near you.

    • @orangdadashian2089
      @orangdadashian2089  Год назад

      No, it will not. Also it is more crumbly so that a dentist can remove it easily.

    • @orangdadashian2089
      @orangdadashian2089  4 года назад +1

      Hi Johannah, it takes 48hours for the material to fully set. It will stay there a lot longer. Even if some of it comes off, it is not a problem as long as it is covering the bottom of the cavity. Thanks

    • @orangdadashian2089
      @orangdadashian2089  4 года назад +1

      Johannah Tandy , pleasure. You can top up the existing temporary filling but please bear in mind that the bond between an old and a new temporary filling is poor. The new part tends to come out fairly quickly.

    I worry that this material might come unstuck while I'm sleeping and I could inhale it. Is this fear warranted?

    • @orangdadashian2089
      @orangdadashian2089  4 года назад

      Hi, the temporary filling normally comes our or chips when you eat. I think it is highly unlikely for it to come out on its own when you are sleeping. Even if it does while sleeping or eating, the material is safe enough for you to just pass it on. I really would not worry about it. Hope this helps. Thanks

      @@orangdadashian2089 Thanks. Thing is, I'm not as worried about _swallowing_ it as I am about _inhaling_ it. But, it's helpful to know how the material typically wears down. Thanks for the insight on that, and for the video.

    That material is very weak. I've used it 2x and 2x it dropped out from my tooth. It's temporary filling maybe on 8 hours. Doesn't work as a temporary filling which using dentists. It should be hard after 2-3 hours but it doesn't. When you apply to your tooth after mixing saliva is total disaster because it starting melt. You have to apply it on dry tooth and keep it that what is not possible because you rmouth is full of saliva.

    making videos takes some responsibility of practicing and investigating the real process before doing "in theory videos", this video is practically useless since you are NOT doing it in a real patient in a 100% real situation, using plastic teeth is fantasy, once you do it in a real patient you will realize several problems that you are NOT telling, is so easy to imagine that "it should work", many things go wrong in a real situation and the saliva makes the process very difficult and going out of place and in between the healthy front teeth and it will look horrible, patient must bite over a wax paper so the material does not stick on the wrong upper or lower teeth, making videos takes responsibility too, and the time to dry and how to avoid saliva or the material will make a mess
