  • Poor #KermitVXR was making me deaf with his droning wheel bearings, so I finally did the right thing and replaced them! The joys of daily driver life!

Should never add anti seize or anything to wheel bolts. The decrease in friction when torquing them down will actually increase the amount of torque being put on to the bolts effectively overtightening them.
So if your torquing them to 110nm with anti seize then you could be tightening to 120-130nm actually making it harder to get them off next time and risking snapping

great video man. How do you know which side needs changing? ive got the same issue and the noise goes away when turning left but im not sure what side needs replacing

    • @CoffeeGasoline

Cheers dude! If you take the wheels off and spin the disk, you'l hear the bearing grinding. But to be honest it's best to do both sides at the same time, they wear at similar rates 👍

@@CoffeeGasoline thanks for the help, turns out its my rear left side. I'm gonna changed both sides bearings and while I'm gonna do them I'm gonna change the discs and pads too. I've got a Corsa D VXR, is everything the same with D as the E VXR? nuts and bolts etc

@@liamevans4242 no worries dude, glad you figured out which it was! I think most of the stuff is the same on D, only thing I've seen different on some vids is the bearing might have an ABS ring behind it rather than being part of the bearing... but I could be wrong! Hope you get sorted! 🙏

@@CoffeeGasoline yeah the one I'm ordering soon has the abs sensor magnet on the bearing like your one. I'm really hoping its the bearing and nothing else, it drives me mad and I've had it checked 3 times but no one could figure out what the noise was when I took it to the garage! I've subscribed to your channel, cant wait to see more

@@liamevans4242 cheers dude appreciate the sub! There's not much to go wrong with the rear setup, disk etc. Calliper might be a bit tight on it, easier to seperate the front from it rather than braying it off like me 🤣
