Biographies:
South Oldham High School Choir: / sohs.dragonbeat
South Oldham High School Choir Department consists of 5 separate choirs: Choir (for students with special needs), Freshman SSA (all Sopranos and Altos), TTBB (all Tenors and Basses), Advanced Chamber Choir (SOHS’s premier ensemble), and Dragon Beat (auditioned pop a cappella ensemble). Mr. Romney has taught at SOHS since 2010. The choir department participates in state and district assessments where they consistently receive critical praise and scores. They have performed from New York City to Orlando Florida and many places in between. Students perform in various concerts throughout the school year, and many of the choir members participate in a musical every spring. Advanced SOHS choirs are often invited to perform around the community at special events. Students in the choir department are often quite active in the other parts of the school, including sports teams, clubs, and honors societies.
First Take Quartet
First Take is an a cappella quartet specializing in modern barbershop harmony arrangements. The quartet was awarded third place bronze medals at the 2023 Barbershop Harmony Society International Quartet Competition and is comprised of experienced performers, coaches, and teachers. First Take formed for the purpose of entertaining worldwide audiences and strengthening the community ties of those who love vocal harmony.
First Take aims to promote harmony by building and maintaining a strong community of musicians who love singing together. First Take hopes to foster the curation of spaces where people can socialize and enjoy singing together.

@5:37 That is the most accurate depiction of 'blowing someones mind" as I have ever seen. I can't begin to imagine what that moment was like...on Omegle (generally a weird and unsettling experience) and then you get THIS, all of these people, very talented, performing for you, in real time. Dayum.

I love these videos so much - they make me so happy.
It's a shame people don't want to stick around or think it's fake. There needs to be some kind of definitive check when doing stuff like this - ensuring you have a conversation with them first and maybe even have their Omegle webcam up on a screen in the back, so it doesn't make them thing its greenscreened. Either that or sneak a reference to them in the song.
You can tell these videos must be a ton of work. Especially after they got a good reaction "We got one! Finally!". Still, I hope it doesn't dissuade from making more.

I love these big collabs, and wish there were more, but I also know Omegle is hard enough for a normal video, and it's probably even harder when you are working with so many people at the same time, so thank you for doing this!
This is SUCH an amazing concept! The thing I think you might be missing is the personalization hook that lets them know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it's not pre-recorded. Just a comment about something in their background, a tattoo, a hair color, something. That would ground it in reality and let them know this shit is *real*! Awesome work!

Wow… this brought back so many memories! I am a choir and theatre kid, I was in choirs all the way up until I was 20 and then joined an a capella group when I was 30! I was in my high school’s concert choir and the auditioned group, the Madrigals! Mr. Landes, you have just upped the RUclips content game by leaps and bounds. The choir and barbershop quartet were even more majestic than the concept, and the concept is ridiculously awesome.
All of this was incredible, but Magic In Me and Golden Hour were absolutely my favorites. I wish you did those for more people.

So funny enough, that’s me. We had been recording for legit 4 hours straight and hadn’t gotten a good take in probably half that time, so most of us were completely exhausted and had lost our voices. We were just relieved to finally get a good reaction
