Thank you Jason. That was super clear and thanks for pointing out the portrait mode. My kids got ahold of my camera and I couldn't figure out how to change it back to what I had. I could tell my footage wasn't as flattering, but didn't know why. That was helpful.

Why my Cannon G7x when recording videos, stops at 17 minutes? It doesn't record more than than that. There is any setting to make it? I use the card 64gb so the isdue isn't a memory. Thanks
Why on the camara does the video is inverted? Like is their a way to record a video like the way on snap? This camara makes it so differently. Like not mirrored !!
Really found this helpful! I've had my camera for a couple of years now but never changed the settings around. I record product reviews a lot, so I'm wondering if I should keep the picture style setting to auto because I don't want portrait mode to add a filter on my face or smooth it out in any way since I want people to be able to see products on my skin as filter free as possible. I also film in front of a window or near one for natural lighting. What other settings would you recommend or could I just use the same ones you mention in the video? I heard to use the AV setting to film versus the little camera icon for standard.

I had that same problem with my camera. I was using a micro sd card with the wrong adapter. I got a new one that came with its own adapter and havent had a problem since. I also read that the regular full size SD cards (the ones that dont need an adapter) would also work
@@JAYMStudios Actually, nevermind hahaha 50 minutes later I realize that I was just pressing the wrong buttons (menu button instead of that Q set). I already recorded the video, so I'll have to try following your settings guide for the next one!
I feel like I wasted my money buying this camera. It is good for vlogging don't get me wrong but every time I upload my video to youtube the videos are always blurry
@@JAYMStudios I use wifi to transfer the videos on my camera to my iphone, edit in imovie, and upload on youtube through my iphone. Only because I dont have any storage on my mac.
@@knownasmar9780 uploading on your phone and transferring the file over WiFi is what’s killing your quality. I’d try making space on your MAC if possible

The G7X is getting a little old at this point. I’m not sure now how viable it is against the Sony. Haven’t looked into it much

Honestly, I would probably use landscape mode as that would throw it into a more wide focus for viewing

I have this camera and I need to use it for my bday photo shoot at the end of this month. What settings are good for that.
I would recommend portrait mode for close up shots with auto ISO and White balance if you’re new to cameras. Far away use landscape mode I believe
How do you remove the focus rectangle, It's super annoying? I love the camera but that's the only issue I have with it so far.

I believe the settings for the Mark III should be fairly similar but I don’t own that one to confirm.

What editing program do you use to make your videos? Could be your export settings. This camera is 1080p tho but it’s manageable

I use an external storage which holds all my iMovie library and anything to do with editing so no storage gets taken up on my mac

Can this camera like airdrop the videos and photos to your phone or iPad?
Unfortunately not, but I think you can send pictures and videos over wifi. If not you gotta plug it into a computer or use the SD card
